A sequel to Rayman Origins is in development, according to an Arkenford marketing survey. A Kotaku reader sent the site photos of the survey, which mentions an all-new setting for the sequel.

It is said to include "all features already in Rayman Origins," which are a "long and intense campaign, in solo or up to 4 players join in/join out co-op," and "beautiful 2D graphics." The setting, however, moves away from the game's current design for something a bit more mythic.

"The sequel to Rayman Origins will feature brand new settings: legendary worlds filled with castles, vampires, ghosts, Greek Gods, or dragons," reads the survey.

Video content of the game was shown during the survey, but it appears to have only been a slideshow of artworks. Have a look at some screen captures:

This game in many respects underperformed- getting creamed by the likes of Assassin's Creed and Sonic Generations- and it's still getting a sequel. This is absolutely fantastic news. If you still haven't bought the original for whatever reason, this should be the onus for you to get it now.

Guh. Part of me is really disappointed for still not having the first yet, been too distracted and ended up using them on other great games. ;A;

I really do want to play the first though, being a big fan of platformers. I like hearing about a sequel though, nice to see it loved by so many people, as Rayman took a hit after ugh, the Rabbids.

Well, I guess it's safe to say that The Rabbids are finally getting a taste of their own medicine...

Hoo boy, that was awesome.

I love to get this game if it's for PC but considering the graphics i seen and considering how the lap handled my Origins, i probably won't.

Also, i am too worried about that whole save file corrupt glitch happening again =(

Fourth zone. Fourth damn world! Fourth world and suddenly my game gets stuck and i lose all of my progress!

Wait, this is Legends.

Still. Cheers to Ubisoft.

Cool trailer, although Ubisoft confirmed that it doesn't represent the final game and it simply showcase what it could be, in case you haven't heard .-.

Pretty awesome though.

fellow fan of the orignal rayman for the jaguar or some maybe might know the concle as the atari. i enjoyed the rayman for the dream cast but though it took me a tadbit to get a hang on to the controls for it was third person play not 2D side scroll. i havent played rabbid so i may be not going to buy this game for a long while but i will put it on my list.

To clarify, you don't need to play any Rabbids games to play this. They feature the little furballs, but Legends is nothing alike to it.
