So this little gem by Brandon Vietti (Batman: Under the Red Hood, The Batman) and Greg Weisman (Gargoyles, The Spectacular Spiderman) ended the run of its first season recently and now it's moving on to its second season, which is looking pretty cool, too. The idea behind the series' creation was to capture the era of superheroism in the Earth-16 DC continuity through the eyes of youthful heroes. While it isn't an actual adaptation of any particular DC comic series, it draws a lot of its material from two old comic series: The New Teen Titans and Young Justice, from which it got the title. The plot follows the Justice League's teenaged proteges (primarily Dick Grayson/Robin, Kaldur'ahm/Aqualad, Wally West/Kid Flash, Conner Kent/Superboy, M'gann M'orzz/Miss Martian and Artemis Crock/Artemis) as they act as special ops agents and take out criminal organizations and the sort on the sly. Season 1 (simply titled Young Justice) ran for 26 episodes and the season finale encores in about 9 hours in the States. Next Saturday, the first episode of season 2, titled Young Justice: Invasion will air as part of Cartoon Network's DC Nation block. I'm trying to avoid this show. Like, you have no idea how hard I'm trying to NOT watch it... Why? WHY!?... Because I'm already swamped with so many anime shows currently. Adding THIS show(though I don't consider it anime), would cause me to quit life in general. ;_; But its EVERYWHERE! Youtube, tumblr, here, I can't get away from it... Sad thing is, I'm a comic book fan.(I think I dove into Marvel more than DC but, not the point.) Anyways... I might get into this. I watched this girl post a 'react to' video about the 26th episode. Sounded pretty awesome... So yes, I MIGHT be suckered into this... Not sure. I have Zetman, Person 4, Bleach(which is ending?), that other anime show I can't remember and need to catch up on, uhhhhhhhh, so many. xD But yeah, I might dive into this... We'll see... SIDE NOTE: Don't you DARE try convincing me to watch this show, my mind, and the interweb, is already doing that. And its doing it well might I add.

I have a considerably long list of anime to watch that I've happily abandoned to gather dust for this show. Quite honestly, I can't remember the last time I loved a cartoon this much. The animation is epic, the coloring is awesome, the settings vary a lot, the plots and subplots are amazing, the main villains are about as brilliant as Xanatos, over 100 characters from the DC mythos appear as main, recurring, supporting and even background characters, the overall characterization is great and each protagonist has both major traits and major flaws. And on top of that, I love the familiar voices; you should have seen the look on my face when I first heard Robin speak and I immediately went, "Oh my God, it's Roxas!" And that's not even half of it. |D Also, for anyone wanting episode or character summaries, you can check out the Wiki. It's actually very well built, very well organized for the most part, and they're constantly updating with info one of the series creators, Greg, gives away in his Ask Greg Gargoyles site. |

I watched 8 episodes straight when it first aired. I really love it. I just never remember to watch it when it's on and I don't have Tivo, so I usually wait for the Blu Ray/DVD season sets and watch it all at once. I heard season 2 was announced, that's great news. Lobo *points to avatar* will be in the season premiere... I will have to watch that one. |

Sorry for the double post but it's time for an update. It had been rumored that there would be a time skip between seasons since the most of the new characters weren't superheroes by the end of the first season, not to mention that the way Miss Martian, Superboy and Robin were drawn in the box for a season 2 toyline had them looking a few years older. New pictures that CN just released suggests that there will either be an actual time skip in the plot or that at least time travel will be involved. It's really quite unclear. You can see the pictures here. When I saw Nightwing I was pretty sure that there WAS a time skip, specially given how Batgirl doesn't look 13 anymore. However, Bumblebee and Beast Boy don't look that much older from how they first appeared in the series, so I'm still doubtful. There's also the fact that even if Superboy and Miss M actually look older, they don't seem to have aged that much. Of course, one of the best known attributes for both these characters is the huge mismatch between their respective chronological ages and their actual biological age, so I guess with that argument in, there's not much that can be determined by simply looking at them. I suppose it will all be explained come Saturday. EDIT: Sneak peek for the upcoming episode has been added to the original post. And here are some first look pictures, too. |

Mira... expect a pm from about this lovely show... I finished the first season ^-^ Anyways, about what you've provided for the sneak peeks and such. I'm a bit confused on the whole Nightwing thing. From the comics and shows that I've read/watched, there is Nightwing who was once Robin but left because he had a huge falling out with batman. Through that however, Batman obtained a new sidekick who stuck with Robin. Thus, at times Robin and Nightwing would meet up from time to time. At least, that is what I have gathered. However, seeing as they are pinning this Robin as the first Robin(parents were in the circus.) I'm only guessing that our little Robin in fact becomes Nightwing, to which they might introduce the second Robin.*shrugs* Who knows. Then again, as you said, could be a time traveling thing. As for the age thing. Megan is actually the oldest one in the team. xD As well, her appearance can change whenever she wishes it. So yeah, she can make herself look older if she pleased. As for Superboy, he is the youngest of the team. xD Not sure how a clone's aging system is, but seeing as he is part human, I guess he would age normally.*shrugs* All in all, I can't wait to see this new season... Now to find a site that streams them online... I don't a cable box in room, cause all my shows air on line. ^.^; Hopefully Hulu will fix that for me. |

I actually saw some recent pics and it does look like they're introducing a new Robin (costume looked a tad different and the Robin had short hair.) So maybe we will be getting a new Robin if they keep Dick as Nightwing, which is how I prefer him anyways. He's a lot cooler as Nightwing than Robin. I just wonder if this time skip is just for a couple of episodes, or if they plan on keeping it that way from now on. |

Huh, I'm wondering too. Maybe the time skip will be in a few episodes in? Or, perhaps they'll keep going back and forth to explain their current situation and stuff. But yeah, Nightwing is way cooler than Robin. I think its the outfit xD But, I'm guessing Roxas(can't think of the voice acot's name) isn't going to voicing Nightwing. Maybe his voice will pop up when flash backs kick in or what have you. Which is a little sad, since that was one of the main reasons why I dove into this show. xD |

A lot of it is the costume.  But also he's his own man, not under Batman anymore. He takes his own territory to save called Bludhaven, which is was like Gotham before Batman, except a little worse than Gotham.I have a feeling it'll only be a couple episodes at most with this time-skip. If not, that's cool. I'm sure they got something awesome planned for the season. |

Well, the Robin in this show is Dick Grayson, and Dick Grayson IS the Robin that becomes Nightwing in the comics. However, it seems like this is going to be time traveling as some interviews with the creators (which I've now linked in the first post) mention that season 2 picks up exactly where 1 left off. Either that, or there'll be a time skip in a later episode. Don't know. Also, new voice actors (yeah, no duh). Mae Whitman, who voiced Katara in Avatar: The Last Airbender and Rose/Thorn/Huntsgirl in American Dragon: Jake Long will be voicing Wonder Girl- I am definitely looking forward to that. ^.^ Also, I think I heard Robin's voice actor in two of the promos, so I wouldn't worry about that. EDIT: The fun continues, people! The air dates for the first six episodes have been revealed. So far, we have six consecutive Saturdays worth of season 2 awesomeness. Brief episode descriptions for the first five episodes appear with the air dates as well. LIIIIIINK! It appears Nightwing appears as early as the 4th episode of the season, and it sounds like an epic episode already~ |
