Well I've thrown caution to the winds, and created myself a forum. It's called "Chaos Theater," and now, i'm wondering what I can do with it. Any suggestions for a starter like me?

Set the rules. Zetaboards probably already made the rules but it's always good to edit them and add some other valuable points. 2. Make the forum look fancy. Add images to replace the standard Zetaboards ones and use skins. 3. Make a couple sections, for example "Introduce Yourself", "About Scott Pilgrim" Off-Topic" And stuff like that. 4. Entrust some of your most trusted friends in mod and admin powers, if they want. Only a one admin carrying an entire forum may be tough once it starts to grow popular. 5. It may sound like a cheap ploy but you might want to do some advertising here and there to gain attraction. Usually popularity spawns from advertisements with the person who seen the forum recommending it to others. It's kinda like spreading a virus. That's as far as i got.

all systems go Posts: 2,969 Group: Former Monarchs Member #482 Joined: January 18, 2007	Post a lot, make a lot of interesting topics (such as asking a question and asking that people explain their answer, to promote discussion instead of just 1-sentence answers), have a general forum where people can talk about anything outside of Scott Pilgrim, a custom skin, and anything you can think of that will set you apart from other forums (such as maybe a points system? those must be common as dirt by now). And yeah, if you're on other Scott Pilgrim forums, post the link in your sig or in their ad section or whatever.

Basically it's your choice what to do with the forum. Either great discussion or a big project will keep members there. But if you made a forum and don't know what to do with it, you might not really want to make it. A pointless forum won't get many members.

I clearly know what to do with it now, and that's to have fun with it.

all systems go Posts: 2,969 Group: Former Monarchs Member #482 Joined: January 18, 2007	There are many guides out there for skinning a Zetaboard forum. http://docs.zetaboards.com/invisionfree/skinning/invisionfreecssguide That's a guide, so that when you open the CSS, you can just say "Oh, that color corresponds to this thing" and change it like so. I'm not sure if Zetaboards allows you to change the HTML of the forum, though... I'm working on a PHPBB forum myself at the moment, and learning as I go, but doing a Zetaboard skin seems like it would be exceptionally easy. And if you need a guide on how to do CSS stuff, here. http://www.w3schools.com/css/default.asp That's what I've been using. I can't remember if Zetaboards is purely CSS, though.
