[insert something cheerful here] Posts: 8,037 Group: Former Monarchs Member #9,289 Joined: August 20, 2008	I'm a pretty huge fan of Xiaolin Showdown and found it particularly tragic when the series was cancelled. As it turns out, though, Christy Hui, the creator of the series is working on a revival titled Xiaolin Chronicles. Now when I first heard of this, I was completely ecstatic. I looked up the trailer and got many impressions out of it, some good, some not so good. Spoiler: click to toggle For starters, it seems they couldn't get the entire original cast. Supposedly, Katnappe's voice actress will be voicing Kimiko, and judging from the trailer, Danny Cooksey no longer voices Jack Spicer. Instead, boy genius now shares the same voice actress as Omi, which will take some getting used to, especially because Tara Strong's Timmy Turner/Ben Tennyson/9-year-old Dil Pickles voice is a freaking ENORMOUS difference compared to Cooksey's Dave the Barbarian voice, so yeah... It just sounds really weird to me. Chase also seems to have a new voice actor, but he still sounds just as badass (if not more) so it's no big deal. I don't know about the rest of the characters, though if they manage to bring back Raimundo, Wuya and Dojo's original voice actors (Tom Kenny, Susan Silo and Wayne Knight, respectively), I'm pretty much a happy camper. [EDIT] OK, so Tara isn't Jack's official voice actress. That's a huge relief. Fingers crossed for Cooksey reprising the role. Next, seems like they changed some of the Sheng Gong Wu's names. The Orb of Tornami is now the Orb of Torpedo and the Monkey Staff is now the Monkey Spear, and it shot out monkey ghosts or whatever. The overall animation was slightly revamped and looks somewhat shinier, though manages to keep the awesomeness intact. The showdowns, on the other hand, are now animated in 3D. Personally, I much preferred the original 2D, but I found it to be more bearable than Jack's new voice. Might just be me, though. Minor note: Omi's sash also appears to be black again. I don't know if this means that Wudai Warriors don't need to wear robin-egg-blue-colored sashes anymore (it's a nice color, but not exactly what matches with bright red without looking iffy...) or if part of the plot takes place during the timeline of the original series' first season (which seems unlikely because Chase is there) or if it's a coloring error or what. XP The trailer doesn't offer that much insight of the plot, but the little it had did remind me of the main series in spirit so that's cool~ Trailer link Discuss.

I don't like Jack's new voice. Please just use a different person. He and Omi sound too much alike. Otherwise, looks cool, I like the 3D. Is this a reboot though or actually a continuation of the series? .-.

[insert something cheerful here] Posts: 8,037 Group: Former Monarchs Member #9,289 Joined: August 20, 2008	Well, it did end its course, but the reason it had such an open ending was because the creator had hoped it would be renewed for a new season yet it wasn't. Well, not for another six years or so. This is supposed to be a revival/continuation from what I've gathered but there aren't that many details out yet so I can't really say. I HOPE it's a continuation- definitely want to see how Rai's life goes now that he's the Shoku Warrior. It would be kind of a bummer if they reset that.

You sounded so cool in the original series, now... you sound like a girl. Did one of your experiments go wrong or something? Thankfully, Jack's voice is confirmed not to be official... I would HATE for one of my favorite villains to sound like that. But yeah, this is awesome news! Xiaolin Showdown is coming back, I kinda wanna see wanted to see what happened next, but then it was cancelled before we got a conclusion. Now that it's being brought back, I can't wait. This, along with the possible return of Toonami in the future thanks to Adult Swim... I absolutely cannot hold my excitement.

I love Tara Strong and her wide range of characters she has voiced... but she's no Jack.

I mean, I love Tara "Woman of a Thousand Voices" Strong, too, but there's no way she'd ever be able to make Jack sound like the same lovable dork from before. Well, in that case, I can definitely say I'm looking forward to this!
