I'll be there every step of the way...

Of course, Chao haven't even made a major appearance in years, but let's just imagine: What if there was a Chao-raising game released for WiiWare, PlayStation Network, and/or Xbox Live Arcade? There's a lot of possibilities with that... The Chao Garden in the Adventure series was fun enough being part of another game, but think of the potential of such a thing being worked on as a standalone title. Pitch ideas, =SB=. I think it'd be neat if it were based rather strongly on the Sonic Adventure 2 Chao Garden layout, but the mini-games were more involved... For example, maybe the Chao could run along miniature Sonic-like action stages, with loop-de-loops and platforming and all, in a slower, cutesier fashion. |

Launch Base Act 1

I would love to see something like this made, but I doubt it would happen. It is frustrating to see Chao make minor appearances in Sonic games all the time. They were probably one of my favorite parts of the adventure series. |

That would be nice. I like chao as well, and if there was a customizable factor put in there (i.e. if we could change their skin pattern, maybe choose animal ears and tails and even change the little head ball's shape color, etc.), that would be even more cool. |

I object to your claims
|
I'd just settle for another Chao Garden in a main Sonic game. Sure they weren't of any major importance (though you did need to use it to get all the emblems), but they were a decent little time waster. |

^this. all this. I agree with blaire on this. A chao-raising title would probably not happen no matter what, and there is a shortage of chao gardens in the sonic games, so i'd say yes to a new sonic game where there is a chao garden, and slightly cock my head at the thought of just a chao-raising title. |

The most important meal of the day

I personally would like to see both: a Chao-raising title AND a little side thing in a major game. Honestly, sometimes I play Director's Cut on my GameCube just to go in the Chao Garden. I love that little place. But a Chao-raising title as in a game all by itself? I would never stop playing. Chao are my favourite little things! And I agree, a more customizable aspect to it would be nice. |

^also this. Maybe the idea of an all chao-raising game probably will have some chance of making it in the industry. If there was a customization section of that game, i would make one of my chao look like champ. He had sleepy eyes. leopord ears and a tail. He was 9 different kinds of cute right there. |

We all make choices. But in the end, our choices make us
|
I would love to see the Chao in their own little game. Imagine all we could do if the Chao-raising was the main focus? You could unlock tons of different gardens, take your Chao to a cute little park, buy different outfits, etc. They really do need to bring these little guys back. And not just as cameos. |

Marble Garden Act 2

I really miss the chao gardens, it would be awesome if they returned and even better if the game focused mainly on chao raising. |

Sandopolis Act 1

That would be great, but some of the fun in Chao is that you have to go to stages (and explore them) to get items. Unless it had some very good minigames or even a main game (where you can play as your Chao?), I think it would tank. Imagine playing SA2(B) with a Chao. One that gets better as it levels up! |

^This too. No kidding. Maybe make it into a chao RPG? I heard this in another thread...I think it's still here somewhere, and that inspired me to make my Chao RP. |

He's Hiding Something...
|
Like Fwiss, one of my enjoyments of the Chao World was exploring the stages looking for the animals to feed to your Chao. Anyways, I wouldn't like Chao being the main focus of the game, I would prefer them being a side part of a main Sonic game. Not too sure whether I would like to see them return, seems like the idea is dead now, so not too sure... |

My! That's a pretty snazzy performance there!
|
Right now, it is a good and bad thing if it was made. It is perfect as a WiiWare/Xbox Arcade/ PSN title and I could see a lot of people getting hooked into it. However, I believe the Chao community has vastly lessened since they have been nothing but cameos and objectives starting in Unleashed, and they were not shown between Heroes (they have Cheese and Chocola but that still is not enough) and Secret Rings (it is story book game, do not bicker at me about it). It feels almost like they disappeared or put in the background since 2004. I love the Chao gardens in SA1, SA2, and the Game Boy Advance version, and it would be a great opportunity to make one but I fear the younger generations won't have much idea of what these creatures are and not take interest into them. Great idea, just bad timing if it was made now. If made around 2001-2004, then yes, it would of been terrific. I would absolutely buy it. |

^The younger generation has no idea what they are missing then! lol but it is true my little brother is ten and although he is a Sonic fan, if I tried to bring up Chao to him he'd be confused as anything. He can't even differentiate between Sonic 1 and 2 on Genesis..lol |

Ahh, spring~
|
I would absolutely adore a downloadable chao raising game. If properly expanded upon, I think the chao system could stand on its own as a really enjoyable title. Keep it updated throughout the year with night/day cycles, holiday events, and so on, and there's always a reason to come back. They could even throw in some bonuses for purchasing Sonic games, perhaps. The biggest problem I could see when it comes to its development is how small animals and rings are earned. I image a series of macro games would be a decent solution to this. However, I'd prefer they not be as shallow as the mini games in the Sonic Advance chao gardens. And I know that this will probably never happen... but I can dream, right? xP |
