Hello to all you wonderful people of the series of tubes and stuff that we like to call the Internet :P. I was wondering of you would like to give me some advice on how those PVC longbows are made. Allow me to make a background as to how this all went down: For gym class, every Tuesday of February, we do archery. This was my first time doing archery, I gotta say it was a little nerve-wracking. But I got used to it, I even scored a bullseye, 15 yards away. But we weren't scoring that round, ha!…Anyway, so once it was all over with, I realised I missed doing archery. So I looked up on the Internet, see if I could get a bow and arrow, and start shooting; I'm on spring break now, and I thought it would give me something to do. However, I realised it wasn't that simple, because I need a hunting license, and to be 18 or over, which I am not. No one in my family has a hunting license, and I'm pretty sure they don't want one. So, I have to get a bow and arrows secretly, kind of. I spotted an archery set at Dunham's, but the draw weight was quite a bit lighter than my 25-35lb.
So here I am, wondering how to make a longbow (personally, I prefer the look of a longbow over recurve or compound bows) out of PVC, and without having it be heavy on the draw weight. So…DIY Longbow, 25-35lb draw weight, is it possible, and how? Thanks ^_^

Break out the L-word. The other L-word.
I kind of doubt you'd be able to make a bow out of PVC. Bows need to be flexible, and I somehow don't think PVC is flexible enough to do the job. I'm not sure if there's a DIY way to make a bow, unless you like actually carved one out from wood or something. But hey, nothing to keep you from experimenting and whatnot to see if you can find a common material both flexible and strong enough to be suitable for making a bow. Hey, maybe you'll come up with some new way to make bows out of a better material and will be able to perhaps make a business out of it when you're older? Just throwing ideas out there, but I'm not really an expert on how to make bows, other than knowing they need to be flexible, strong and durable.

^ That's a good idea. Carving it from a branch would put the whole 'make-sure-not-to-arouse-parental-suspicion' deal out of the way. I have 3 days, 6 hours each day. Just need the know-how.

"I didn't use the whole thing ...."
My friend has constructed one of these contraptions before, yet I've no idea how he did it.
I know Youtube has some really good tutorials if your willing to sit down and watch for about 10 minutes.
