Mr. L, I have to say, despite everything, that was some superb entertainment you have created, and quite possibly the greatest perceived-backtrack/reveal of All time. Speaking as someone who joined for the purpose of testing my RP skills whilst having fun, I was getting a tad scared of doing something wrong myself. ^_^' I guess I too was genuinely fooled. Jolly good bamboozle, old chap.

@L: I wasn't tryna me you feel better, but simlly providing my truthful outlook on the previous situation. @Chaos: I know what you mean about having a lack of trick  I'd say Terrador's abilities are rendered about 60% useless without Geokinesis. Not to mention he's literally covered in his most hated element, although my last post suggests he's doing better than when he first began the match. Plus Chaos' spontanious fighting style may put him at a disatvantage. There's so many things against him at the moment. It'll take a miracle to come out as the victor. I shall try with all my might and I expect the same from you Chaos.

I just got nothing going on for me at the moment, so I check the forum like every 5 minutes  That's an exaggeration of course, sadly not a huge one But I acknowlege other people have lives and I myself am a patient man. On top of that it would have been easier for you to text me if you wanted to get a hold of me. I'd say more but A I'm at work and B I'm on my phone so typing is annoying... Thanks to everyone for defending me in all this. I've read every comment and I shall be making a more detailed rant later. At this point I'm actually debating on sticking with the tourney. I'll be back on sometime after 7 so expect me then. Beforewarned: I'm not very happy at the moment so unless my rage subsides you should expect an angry Star. |

Actually, you guys can expect an angry Bliz instead. A really angry Bliz. What the hell went on in here? This is not how I expected you to act, L. First, you accusing people of twisting the rule's meaning has no credibility given the overwhelming consensus against you. You even quoted the rule yourself, and it explicitly states that outside help isn't allowed in the actual matches. If you didn't want participants discussing the matches publicly in the OOC topic, then you should've written that down. To disqualify someone for a rule that only you had a specific interpretation of is bogus; it was your fault for the confusion, and as a staff member and tournament leader, you should've owned up to the mistake and clarified it instead of punishing Star. I'm also pissed you try to play this off as a joke. First of all, what kind of judge jokes about disqualifying someone? The participants put real effort into taking part in these tournaments, as much as you and the other judges do running them; why would you disrespect any of them by subjecting them to the will of your authority and disqualifying them as a "joke," and in front of the whole forum no less? I don't believe you would. Instead, you made a mistake in judgment and tried to lie to cover your tracks. Star just outright proved that with his post. And since you want to talk about "forcing your hand", allow me to force mine: Know that had this been my forum, you would've been taken off the project the moment I got through reading this topic. For everyone else, here's some clarification: If you have confusion about someone's post, you are free to ask the poster in question about it and they can clarify in the actual match topic what their intention was. Otherwise, contestants are not allowed to offer each other any kind of input about their matches, in the OOC topics or otherwise. If anyone has done that before this post, it will not count towards their status in the tournament. I think that's fair for all parties involved. In conclusion, don't do this again. Ever. EDIT: Screw it; you are demoted. After all that I outlined above, I didn't feel like a warning was enough. I trusted you to be an honorable staff member and you blew it. I'll let staff argue about whether or not you can return, and you'll still be able to run the tourney with the stipulation I outlined above, but for now, you don't need any more power than necessary if this is how you'll choose to act. Okay so I've just read through all my posts in this topic and I haven't seen anything that would remotely break the "outside help rule." The only things that would have set this off would be my "advice" to Ped which wasn't even advice. It was merely a way to help others interpret Connor's post (which was hard enough to interpret as is anyway). I never even gave him a suggestion on how to win so the rule was never even broken. Second as a MOD you should really choose your words more carefully. That little comment towards Farr was unwarranted and uncalled for. he is a member just like the rest of us and this Tourney may be private but OOC chats are generally open to the public. Farr's comment has just as much grounds as anyone else and to tell him otherwise (ESPECIALLY in the way you did) is offensive and outright rude.
Considering it was an interpretation and not outside help the rule doesn't even matter anyways. Also threatening to disqualify everyone arguing with you because they don't agree on a bullshit ruling is bullshit in itself. Dude I have a LOT of respect for you (well have isn't the right word at the moment considering you've lost a lot of my respect because of this). By the way this wasn't funny even in the slightest. I've been extremely supportive of this Tourney and have even stated how much I love the storyline. And for you to pull a "joke" like this is not something I'm happy to see. I'll elaborate more into why this "joke" was never a joke in a minute.
You aren't being a very good RP Mod by starting drama for no reason and for a bullshit reason no less. And you do odd pranks a lot but this was taken too far. Not only is a disqualification disheartening it hurts your pride.
Now this is what truly set me off and what also makes your whole "joke" a complete and utter lie. I NEVER received a PM from you. The only PM I got today was from a newbie who just wanted to talk. Also you of all people should know that I have a job and so I'm usually not on (or in today's case was unable to post) because I'm at work. Yes I have a phone that connects to the internet but do you know how hard it is to post using it? It's not easy to make posts on my phone especially at work where I have to go into a secluded spot to even read posts. Now if I had received a PM I would be laughing and having a jolly good time (did you know I haven't even smoked yet?! The first thing I wanted to do when I got home was smoke but I'm sitting here having to go off on you because of something that you thought would be funny. I already have enough stress to deal with and I don't need more). All in all I am very disappointed in you, L. Not only as a Mod but as a friend as well. This was not funny nor should you even think it would have been funny. You also lied to try and get out of something that you knew you were wrong about. It's sad that I'm even having to do this because honestly it could have been avoided. As for why I haven't posted: I have been busy at work and have been working on other things as well. I am well aware of how long I have left and as such will post when I can. My IRL business takes precedence over this Tourney and that's just how it is. Now IF I decide to continue then I will post. But from here on I won't be giving "advice" to anyone. Because obviously me trying to help a member, who was confused just as much as I was, is taboo. I have half a mind to outright quit. If it wasn't for the fact that I've enjoyed it so far I would drop this entirely and focus on Digital Dive.#end rant Ninja'd but my rage still stands... BTW as many of you know I'm HIGHLY passive so for me to have to say all this I had to be pushed to this point. As many have even stated I'm liked for my happy-go-lucky nature and for me to have to do this is not good. On top of that I HATE having to tell someone off because it goes against my passive nature. |

T'be fair, were I to be disqualified for arguing a point like this I would have thrown up my hands and walked out without an issue. I've got better things to do than argue rules all day. As I've said from the beginning: I'm only here because Fen asked me to. Anyway, as for the new ruling from Bliz on tips within this OOC thread, that's fine with me. I'm not much one for giving advice to potential future opponents anyway but harmless interpretations of poor post writing as Star did should be okay (if they weren't I should be disqualified already since I remember helping PT interpret a post once before in the Shack or something). But I suppose this keeps things fair. Here's hoping the drama and BS cease here and we can get back to having a little fun with this thing, eh? |

This so-called 'joke' of yours, if it truly was a joke, is utterly wrong on so many levels. Like Bliz asked, what kind of a judge are you if you joke about disqualifying people? And look; Star is not laughing. Star is not enjoying this. He is legitimately upset about this. And you believe this is just some funny prank. There was nothing funny about this. Nothing. And look, other members are upset about this whole situation. Even though they were not directly effected by this, it still bothered them greatly. You've got at least two members considering quitting this tournament. No, make that three. If I wasn't in the middle of a match, I'd quit right now. No questions asked. We all joined this tourney to have fun, not to worry about getting chewed out for breaking strict, non-existent rules. We put our all into these matches, trying our hardest to win and have a good time. And you have the gall to pull this crap? What the hell were you thinking? And I can't let this go unnoticed;
You actually said that? You actually typed that on your computer and posted it? It doesn't matter if Farr isn't in this tourney or not, he has just as much right to comment about this stuff as anyone else does. And I'm pissed off that you pulled this little stunt not only as a judge but as moderator as well. You know what you've succeeded in doing? You've made the rest of the staff look bad. I mean, this is the first time I've ever been downright ashamed to be a part of the staff. You have lost so much respect from me, L. So much that it's not even funny. Well, I kinda don't blame you if you want to leave. Don't let me affect you staying or not. I'm not sure if I care about this tournament as well after this recent mess. So yeah, forget what I said if you don't feel like being in the tournament any more. I gotta admit, I been supporting you this whole time since like the last 'failed' tournament, L, after you told me you wanted to take over since MoD and D-Metal were too busy to get it started off. Then you did so I was excited and decided to support you after discovering you're starting the tournament again, hence why I asked people like Chaos and Miracle to give it a chance. But now you completely blew my trust again. What you did was really stupid and unnecessary, and now I'm not sure if I should even bother support you anymore. Sorry, I'm trying to be more sympathetic then those that ranted before me, and I know I'm just piling on, but what you did was stupid and unnecessary, and now I know what Darkfarr meant when he said he wasn't interested in the tournament because 'you were running it.' |

Okay, that's enough lamenting. My purpose in posting here was to solve an issue, not to extend it. All that needs to be said and more has been said, and we should put our attention back on regrouping and finishing the tourney up. If you are going to hand control over to DF, I'll accept your decision and make it known to him. |
