Will There Be Downloadable Content?

I'll be there every step of the way...
I was just curious,
Is there going to be DLC for Generations?
And not just stuff like the Casino Park DLC,
But serious new levels and whatnot.

Yes, we have three wishlist topics, but I'd rather not try to pick which one to ask in.
And when I google any sort of question regarding this,
It's just fifty-billion reviews for the Casino Park DLC.

Just to generate more discussion from this, though,
What sort of format would you like to see it all released in?
Zones with Act 1 and 2 and no challenges?
Zones with Act 1 and 2 and with challenges?
Zones with either Act 1 or Act 2?
New bosses?

I still can't use this.

While it would probably make sense to milk this game for all it's worth, Sega's not even announced anything, probably gearing up for Episode 2 and the next major title. Granted, the last level-based DLC we had for Unleashed was actually for functional content already existing in some form, probably stored on the disc or restricted to the Japanese version, so they probably just threw it out there just because.

Anyway, all I really wanted is Hydrocity for some better (read: actual) S3 representation, mainly in Unleashed style but I'm not adversed to Classic Sonic having a level too. Considering we're discussing DLC, I wouldn't expect challenges; just one or two main acts. The rest of the fanbase can fight over other levels and games. =P

Yep.
SEGA has no plans for more Generations DLCs but i heard fans are working on porting Unleashed levels to the PC port.

My! That's a pretty snazzy performance there!
Yea, sadly I believe Sega wanted to make some DLC, hence some empty platforms to nothing (between the Planet Wisp hub and Egg Dragoon entrance) but I do not think that they are going to get a chance with them focusing on Sonic 4: E2 and the new S&SASR and possibly the one for the upcoming Wii U. I do not think we will see much active response from them with the DLC, so I am not getting my hopes up.

Honestly i was hoping for icecap zone,
i mean f you look at the hubworld map there ARE many open spaces,
so im guessing SEGA may put some DLC in in the future,
it would make sense, i mean theres a blank space between the time eater boss and planet wisp,
Then i was messing around...and i noticed something about where time eater is....it looks like that the end of black brick area...isnt really the end,
if you have time to worry then you have time to run and never look back

Yep.
@DarkSonic The blank space that exists between Time Eater and Planet Wisp is not actually left for more DLCs. It's just a dramatic entrance for the final boss. =3

I would hope that someday in the future after they are finished working on Episode II they'll release something. Generations was too short of a game for me as it was :/

I'm hoping DLC content is on the way, I'd love for more game/trope representations!

As mentioned previously, there's things that point towards and against the release of DLC. The open platforms similar to the Casino Night game's location could very well be for more levels, but the fact no asset evidence has been found it's a bit worrying.

If we are going to get DLC, my bet is we'll hear about it this month. I believe Unleashed's DLC was announced in March as well...?

Don't tell me what I can or can't do!

I hope there is some, but you'd imagine SOMETHING being announced at this point, so I'm really not all that sure. I don't expect completely new zones though, that's probably too much for simple DLC.

Something to point out as well in terms of the DLC. Unleashed's first DLC came out on March 12 and ended on it's last in about June, about four months after the game was releashed in November 2008. And now I understand that does not give me much to fall back on, but if we have not heard anything by then, then I am not hopeing like I said before. Granted, yes, they may just be behind do to the Sonic 4 making, but still, a nice word would be grateful to say if there is or is not.

Yep Hydrocity zone would seem cool in 3d and a revamped classic version :D

Hydrocity, Ice Cap, or Marble Garden would be awesome.

But I still won't keep my hopes up.

I don't think the overworld would allow it, as much as I wish for DLC.
It would be cool if they had like a 'Sonic 1, 2, 3, K, etc. ' level packs.
