Through other topics, I've come to learn that other people appreciate this style of music, or whatever you want to call it. So I figured I'd make a thread about it.

My favorite Dubstep artist is Skrillex. He's pretty much what got me interested in this style of music, and I think he's still doing it best. But I also love Excision, Obsidia, and Rusko. They rotate in my playlist quite often.

Oh, and I just want to say Daft Punk is probably the greatest techno group their is. :D

So what dubstep artist do you guys listen to?

Daft Punk:

Skrillex:

Rusko:

Excision:

Oh, and I'm watching the Grammy's just to see if Skrillex will take anything home tonight. Really hope he wins new artist... But I have a feeling Adele might take it.

I still can't use this.

Skrillex is being nominated for a Grammy?....

Anyway, I love dubstep. Whilst I know several artists, I don't think I have particular ones that are absolute favorites. I just tend to compile a ton of songs and listen to whatever sounds good to me at the moment, and this is generally how I approach all electronic music.

As for my favorites now, Hagakure (Cyberoptix remix)- Quartus Saul:

The drop is a ninja battle. So awesome. <3

What I'm currently listening to in the car- Put Ya Hands Up- Monstar:

And also Gargoyle- Doctor P:

Both of these make my weak lil' sound system sound much better than what it can actually perform.

Been meaning to check out Doctor P. :D

And yeah, Skrillex took 3 Grammys home with him. He didn't get best new artist, though. That went to Bon Iver.

Deadmau5 performed with Foo Fighters. It was pretty cool.

Oh, and Daft Punk didn't win best score... It went to whoever did The King's Speech... My mind was blown that DP didn't win. Oh well.

Skrillex won't much I wouldn't think (didn't catch the grammys, preoccupied with The Walking Dead), he's not mainstream enough for the Best New Artist award.

You already know the artists I reccommended for you before but I found a new one recently, he goes by SKORGE and seems semi-Skrillex inspired in that he uses dubstep with heavy techno-like riffs, though maintains a more pure dub-wub-wub flow. I think his stuff can rival the best stuff you can find when he puts out something you can really tell he put a good amount of thought and effort into, I can admit he has some sharp ups and downs. XD

He is pretty much unknown but if he keeps it up it probably won't be that way for long.

Blackout (Skorge Remix) - Breathe Carolina

He also does a lot of his own original compositions like his "Cloud9 and three fourths" Chillstep which I am fond of, "Divine" as well.

We are still watching

Skrillex - Syndicate (remake of an old EA classic's theme for the new game that's coming out soon)

Korn (ft. Skrillex) - Narcissistic Cannibal

And my honorable mention, Dave Crowe:

Oh, and the Korn Dubstep album is actually pretty good. Their's a few songs I'm not a fan of, (Sanctuary being one.) but I like most songs. My favorite is probably the bonus track called "Tension" KoRn did with Excision/Datsik

Oh, and Celldweller has his own Dubstep-ish sound going for him. I think it's amazing

Just saying since I forgot to before, any fans of Dubstep should subscribe to the Underground Dubstep Youtube and Soundcloud channels, it's the best way to get a steady stream of the genre and they tend to be picky about what they support and what they don't so you're more often than not getting the best sounds there are at the time.

Like just recently I picked up on "Give My Regards" by MitiS through their soundcloud promotions and it is awesome as are pretty much all of their featured tracks.

Datsik & Infected Mushroom collaborated with Jon Davis of KoRn and put out this song today... I'm digging it. The video is peculiar & insane.

My bro didn't dig it as well. I guess I'm in the minority. XD

More like JD's all about dubstep. I don't think any of the other members are as much into it as him.

I'm not sure if I'm even within the same category while I speak that techno/trance is one of my favourite genres along with metal.
But I must admit, none of these videos lister falls under the same genre.
Supposedly there's more then one way of putting it eh?

So in all of this, I'd rather not post any videos in case I end up failing miserable. XD
But yeah, Techno in a form is probably my second best category.

Ah techno eh? Depends whch area you look into as it's pretty much a broad name for it, myself into Hardcore and Hardance as well as some disco/funky house.

Throwing some names out there if you might want to give them a listen more so DJ's rather then bands/groups off the top of my head are Hixxy, Dj Cotts, CLSM, Scott Brown, Brisk & Vagabond etc...Reffering back to hardance, one of my all time fav DJ's being Tony De Vit, proper classic stuff! I like some dubstep, but not enough to be into it big time kind of thing. One of the groups of that sort of genre i do like is Pendulum, but they like to vary things i think.

THIS IS WHY I LOVE SEATTLE!!!

The Seahawks and Paul Allen allowed Dubstep artist Jimmy Diebold of Bodega Studios to wire CenturyLink (Qwest) Field to have its lights react and be programed by noise or off a soundboard and then proceeded to sync the lights in the stadium to a Dubstep variation of Midnight City.. and it is ridiculously awesome.. shows off all of the stadiums lights and it's really in sync with the video both inside and out.

Not many cities in the US would be willing to do this I don't think, nor are most Stadiums properly designed for it to be viewed from outside, considering all the lighting fixtures on the stadium.

Digging Rusko's new album. Has some songs that have a very 70's-ish feel as well as some Reggae thrown in there. Plus the more modern wobble dubstep sound I dig.

ASDA Car Park and Opium are my favorite songs so far.
