Sorry for the thread being up so late, I meant to do this over a week ago but have been quite busy! An interesting "filler" type of plot for this issue, clearly an attempt to plug a gap while waiting for the next big arc to kick in. Hints are made towards the end as to what this new mighty plot could be...
What I think the next arc is, in one picture...

I can't be bothered to do my usual "discussion in spoiler tags" thing as there really isn't much to hide. This issue depicts the trial of Geoffrey St. John, traitor to the crown or working with its true king? Basically, this might as well be renamed as "The origins of the skunk" and answers some important questions such as where Hershey went off to, how he came to be under the service of Naugus, and how he feels he's served the crown. This neatly brings to a conclusion a sub-plot started way back in 219, I think, so just over a year in the making. And of course, we see what could be the beginnings of the next major arc, but I dealt with that above.
On an additional note, the bonus story is well worth a read and could tie in with the above spoiler - but I won't go there just yet. Methinks Archie will either regularly hint at this new subplot or hope we forget about it then spring it onto us in a year's time again. They're good like that!

In conclusion a worthwhile read that sews up a few loose ends and gives some of the characters more depth, all while building up for the next biggie to hit the world. I for one can't wait.

This cover makes court duty and trials seem more epic than it is.

I can't believe no one made the most obvious joke for this.
