Interview Reveals "New Sonic" for 2012 Forth?; Interesting!

This is an interesting bit of information. The newest Sonic producer seems set on creating the next era of Sonic games. It seems like Generations was a close to the "modern era", as Generations titled it, in Sonic's history. Read the original interview from Gamasutra... I like Iizuka's attitude.

I feel that this subtracts credibility from the Sonic Dimensions rumors, considering that I believe said rumors claimed that Dimensions would be a sequel to Colors, and with the way they're talking, it doesn't seem like we'll be getting a sequel to anything.

I'm excited. This could mean a lot of things, ya know. What if we end up with total character redesigns?

EDIT: Just wanted to note that this is from November, but I couldn't find it here.

 Yes lets change Sonic again because it worked SO WELL the first time /sarcasm

I love this, with Generations they almost hit the nail on the head which is shown in sales and feedback, and they now want to completely change it again. How the hell does that make any sense. Then again it was dated back in November so they may have changed their mind after the feedback generations received.

 On one hand, I'm excited about them making changes to sonic and I'm sure I'm going to like what I see because I've never really been disappointed in by certain titles, maybe let down by content, which is what the other hand is on. Sonic 4 regressed so much that there wasn't anything really new about it, which was my only problem, and I didn't see the appeal in colors because I liked unleashed mainly for the warehog. I had no problem with day sonic but if unleashed was only about that and nothing else, the game wouldn't have been in my top 4, it may have been black knight. So, hearing that these two titles that didn't have as much content compared to some of my other favs(Adventure 2, Shadow, 06, unleashed), are the bases for what is to come, then I'm a bit at odds.
Anyway, I'll just have to wait, but I hope to god we see the other characters come into play in the main stories(no matter what they do), and I also hope future spin-offs are more like Sonic Battle or Sonic Riders(the first 2), something actually for him and his co, not some corny mini-games like in Secret Rings.
I also agree with Bliz about the redesign, I don't think they're gonna totally remake him like Dante(which I'm actually cool with, the original creators are gone anyway and he looks like a bad-ass version of Mind Freak XD ).
