GOAL: Take land by defeating opposing teams in matches. Matches are won when all opposing team members have zero health.

THE FIELD:



The field is an 11 x 11 square. Each base sits at the opposite ends of the grid on the sixth square. The grassy area is perfectly flat and there are no environmental objects except for inescapable walls at the
borders of the map.

BEGINNING:

• 
  
• Both opponents must have an equal number of team members but no more than three each. The character classes can be mixed however the team chooses.
  
  
• All characters of the same class have the same base stats.
  
  
• All players must post READY to signify that their characters are on the field. Once on the field, you cannot retreat.
  
  
• Any players who do not ready themselves on the field manually after a day are automatically sent to the field. This also counts as one of two skips afforded to the player.

TURNS:

• 
  
• The starting positions are determined by who posts first. Whoever does so designates their team as HOME and must intend to move as such; the opponents then default to AWAY.
  
  
• The posting order is decided on a first come, first serve basis regardless of the players' teams. A turn then consists of all players' movements.
  
  
• All Moves, Attacks, Defends, and Specials (unless designated otherwise) are real-time, thus they're effective immediately in that turn.
  
  
• If a day goes by without a player successfully locking their move, they are skipped and play resumes. Absentee players can be affected by attacks and specials which will be marked by a referee. Two skips are automatic disqualification for that player.

MOVING:

• 
  
• Movement on the field is done by posting MOVE, the number of spaces you want to move, and your destination space's coordinates. A move can be horizontal, vertical, or diagonal.
  
  
• You can move any number of squares within the alloted number your character has. Unused spaces do not carry over to the next turn. If you do not wish to move, you can ignore the relevant syntax and
  skip to an action.
  
  
• At the end of a movement, you have the choice of indicating only a single action- ATTACK, DEFEND, or SPECIAL- before calling END to lock in your turn.
  
  
• You can occupy the same space as another player.

FIGHTING:

• 
  
• An opponent(s) can only be directly attacked or affected by a special when they are in your range, which is the number of horizontal, vertical, and diagonal spaces you can reach. Every class's range is 2 spaces. Example.
  
  
• The effectiveness of your attack or special decreases by the number of spaces away from your adjacent spaces that an opponent is located unless indicated otherwise. Ex. If an opponent is in your range, but two spaces away from you, your attack's base power is decreased by 1.
  
  
• You can defend yourself when in an opponent's range by calling DEFEND. Your defense stat indicates both its strength against attacks as well as the number of hits it has before it must recharge for a turn. A normal defense only works at full capacity against normal attacks; for Special Attacks, 1 is automatically subtracted from the defense's ability and the damage is calculated from there.
  
  
• SPECIAL ATTACKS can give you an edge when in a pinch or prove extremely effective when used in conjunction with your team mates'. All Specials last that turn (unless indicated otherwise) and require a recharge, meaning you skip a turn after using one unless indicated otherwise. They also work like defense in that the power of a Special Attack also translates to the number of times any Special can be used before also requiring a recharge.
  
  
• SPECIAL DEFENSE works like normal defense, but its effectiveness is reversed. A normal attack will subtract 1 from the player's Special Defense, and any damage incurred is calculated from there.
  
  
• The effect of multiple attacks on your character is determined by the posting order.

CLASSES:

There are three classes to place your character in: Speed, Power, and Support. They function as follows:







SYNTAX & COMMANDS:

While narrative and thought to flesh out the characters participating is optional, the actual syntax of the game is to be posted after the fact at the end of a post. This writing is meant to be as clear, concise, and objective as possible, allowing players room for strategy whilst also cutting down on the confusion, accidental god-modding, and long waits typically exhibited in narrative-based battle roleplays. Here are some clear examples of the absolute minimum a post must contain to be valid during a match.

For example, if you want to move from the Away base three spaces north and attack a player:

"MOVE, 3 spaces North, (8,F), ATTACK, END."

If you want to stay in one place and do a special (as a Speed class character):

"REBOUND. END."

If you are currently located in the exact center of the map and want to move two spaces west to rejoin with a team mate:

"MOVE, 2 spaces West, (C, 6), END."

If your use of a special or a status effect prevents you from doing any specific move or action:

"END."

Your syntax must follow these conventions for a post to be valid. You must also quote the appropriate opponent's syntax in order to attack or defend properly for the sake of fairness and accuracy. If a post with bad syntax is quoted, if a post with bad syntax is quoted before an edit is made, or if you fail to quote the player you're affecting, all of the players can disregard the infringing actions and play accordingly. Basically, don't screw up.
