I actually HATED Somic because my little brother was so obsessed with it, Honestly, he actually bought Sonic Mega Collection, Sonic Mega Collection +, and Sonic Gems Collection even though he owned almost all the games those games had in them already. He was so *BLEEP*ing obsessed. But then we bought Sonic Adventure 2 Battle and was AWESOME. Best Sonic game EVER. Wish they would make another remake of Sonic Adventure 2, because these new Soonic games are TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't hate me cause I'm better than you. Hate me cause your girlfriend likes me more than you. Hate me cause I rob your house on a daily basis, hate me cause my car can actually be called a car instead of a rolling turd, and lastly, hate me cause my IQ is actually HIGHER than a shovel, frankly, I'm amazed you can read this. Anyway, don't hate me cause I'm better than you, hate me for the reasons I just listed.

P.S. I'd list more reasons, but someone as pathetic as you probably would reach this point and run into the corner, break down, and cry.

Let's see, since I wasn't born yet for Sonic's 1,2,3 or Sonic and Knuckles, I kind of just watched my dad play Sonic 3D until I was old enough to know when I was holding the control backwards or not.

For me, it was a case of being hit by advertising for this really cool blue hedgehog. Lucky for me, my parents got me a Mega Drive for Christmas '92, complete with two joypads, Sonic and Sonic 2(yep, I got Sonic 2 the very Christmas it came out, a month after Sonic2esday!). Sonic 2's multiplayer took up many hours of my childhood...

Edit: I got 1337 posts XD

Now, thinking back, I wonder how I remember watching my dad playing Sonic 3D, if I was only about 3, I think. I just remember seeing him play it. I hated Sonic a lot, because of my brothers. But I played Sonic Heroes and I loved it after that.

I'MA FIRIN' MA LAZER!
I remember watching the tv show when i was a kid, and then when I was in hospital for surgery, they had Sonic 1. I played it to death to take my mind off everything. Of course, at the time I sucked, but I was addicted. I loved the speed factor, and collecting as much coins as I could. But that was short lived, as when I left hospital, I also left Sonic, so as a result my Sonic fandom died a little despite the fact I continued to watch the show on television.

However, in 2000 I got my dreamcast, along with Sonic Adventure. It rekindled my love for it in a way, and I was hooked. I remember getting excited once my chao would evolve, and Chaos used to scare the heck out of me. So I've been a fan ever since then.

I got into the old games way back when. That led me to the cartoons (mainly AoStH and a bit of SatAM. I didn't like the latter much back then though). Moved on for a while. Then, around 2002, I ran into Adventure 2 and hated it at first, but it grew on me soon enough. Hahaha. I've been stuck in this fanbase since. Gods only knows why.

Huh? What's that post above me say?

When I was younger, the first system I received was a Sega Genesis, with Sonic The Hedgehog bundled with it. ^^; I loved playing that game, and my parents would know..heck, they couldn't get me to pull away from the controller. ^^;;

From there, I just branched into the TV Series on at that time, the comic books [I started around Issue 29], and I basically played every game on the Genesis, save for pinball..the cartridge never seemed to like me.

Then..well, as you can guess, I pretty much followed the series from the Genesis, to the Arcade [Would you believe there was an arcade in a small hotel that had the Sonic The Hedgehog Arcade game and Sonic the Fighters? I was lucky!], and then to the Dreamcast....well, you know where I'm going with this. ^^;
If someone asks me if I'm enjoying life, unless it's something really unforgivable, I can't help but answer that I am. No matter how much despair there is, I'm satisfied with just living...Just being allowed to be here really is a wonderful thing.

Mushroom Hill Act 2
For me right after I discovered Mario, I went to my cousins house watching him play his Genisis, he was playing Sonic the Hedgehog 1, I said "Woah! whos that blue cat?" Lol yeah I thought Sonic was a cat at first. Then he let me play and I was hooked. I ended up getting a Genesis for my birthday and Sonic 1 and 2, and I later got Sonic 3! I was so hooked on thw first level, I would always reset the game once I got past act 1 >_>.

wanting to improve my art and having my own take on sonic satam. I wanted to showcase my story telling and artistic abilities and since I would really llike to se a re-imagined franchise I studied the comics show and lore and pictured how I'd like to see sonic come back.

A new day will come!
I think I was 5 when my older cousin brought his Genesis here. We started playing, I insisted my parents to buy me a Genesis with exactly the same game. My father got confused and he bought me Sonic 1 instead, which first I hated because "there was no fox", but eventually I loved it =P

Oh yeah, later that year I got Sonic 2 and Sonic 3 too (:

A bit later, in times of the Saturn-Dreamcast transition, I got a bit far from the Sonic fandom, but I returned to it with the Dreamcast-GBA/GC transition ^-^
I'll never love again
Can I say that to you,
Will you run away
If I try to be true?
