The Female Ultimate Life Form!
You just finished reading a lengthy discussion of how to do your ultimate combo attack, and are then prompted to pick whether you want to hear it again. While you're mashing the button waiting for the NPC to shutup, you accidentally push yes and now have to reread this conversation.

No doubt you've had a similar experience. Well now you can vote for most frustrating situation in a game on Dorkly! Together, your list and other voters list are being tallied up, to make a top 50 chart. Voting ends on the 23rd. You can vote here:

Feel free to share your frustrating situations here as well.

I still can't use this.

I don't think I've ever had to repeat a long section of explanation by accident. But screw me, there's no getting around mandatory updates. Battlefield 3 and GT5 were nightmares in this regard. *Votes accordingly*

Lopsided matches in online shooter games

Basically, when playing a first person shooter online, one side is completely destroying the other and it's plainly obvious who's going to win. Being on either side of this doesn't please me much. On one hand, it's no fun being killed over and over again and never getting to move out of your spawn. But on the other it's just plain boring if your enemy seems to have given up and you're just steamrolling over them.

And because you usually get negative marks on your stats for quitting early, you're forced to sit back and take it or quit and accept the bad marks. It's a lose-lose situation, really. As soon as the match is over, I'm usually out of there.

And for a close second... Being spawn killed over and over again. I love Battlefield 3 but it's ridiculously bad about spawning you in the middle of a firefight and letting you die within seconds of spawning in. You always have to choose your spawn point carefully and watch the action closely before you decide where you're going to pop up.

To me, it's the simple 'Get a game over from something cheap after a series of fights, and you HAVE to restart everything.'

As from the list, it would have to be getting a certain part of the game spoiled, dying when you haven't saved, getting BLUE SHELLED in Mario Kart, and oh this only happened once, but when I accidentally killed a shiny Aron in Pokemon Ruby-asdfg.

Yep.
It always frustrates me how on hard mode, racers on racing games are faster then you are. It doesn't make sense and is just not fair D:

Oh yeah, and... the floating blocks from MegaMan

Especially the one from Heatman's. Thankfully i got the Rush Jet thing to pass them trough but when i was clueless about Rush, i had real problems passing Heatman.

I object to your claims
From that list, the most frustrating moments in games for me would be;

-Handheld Dying Before You Save the Game: You all know the feeling. You're playing Pokemon White, about to kick your opponent's ass with your carefully trained Samurott, when you're called away to do something. Thinking that this something won't take long, you simply leave the game on, without plugging it into the charger or anything. Well, you finally return a few hours later and see that the light is red. You try to finish the battle as quickly as possible but as soon as you see the message that your Pokemon has leveled up...black.

And you had been playing all day without saving.

It's also annoying in Animal Crossing: Wild World, because Resetti talks forever when you turn the game back on. I usually just mash the 'A' button while looking at my computer when that happens, then I check the game every few minutes. I know resetting the game without saving is bad! You told me that the first time! You don't have to tell me again!

-Getting Blue-Shelled in Mario Kart: Oh my god...Mario Kart Wii. Blue Shells everywhere! Seriously, it's almost impossible to go more than one race without seeing at least two. And if you're good at MK like me, and constantly in first place...yeah. And think about this; Final Lap. Finish line is almost right in front of you. BAM! Blue shell. Then the second place guy comes in while you're demonstrating kart gymnastics and takes your hard-earned win.

Not cool. Not cool at all.

-Unskippable Cutscenes: It's not so bad if you, yanno, like the cutscene. But let's just say you went through a really long cutscene and you're about to start the final level. Then the power cuts off. Or you have to leave to go somewhere and you can't save the game where you are. Then, when you get back, you have to go through the cutscene again! Great....[/sarcasm]

-Accidentally Hitting "Yes" When An NPC Asks You If You Need Them To Repeat Entire Explanation: Do you know when this is really annoying? When you already know how to play the game - like if you started a new file or something. So, you're sitting there, mashing buttons to get the tutorial over with as quickly as you can. But at the end, the little arrow is pointing at 'yes'.

Then you have to go through that allllll over again.

-Having to Backtrack For Hours Because You Missed An Item or Key Somewhere: Oh dear god. This is so annoying. I don't really like searching for items that much to begin with, but I have to go all the way back through some monster-infested cave with low health just so I can get the key that unlocks a door...ugh.

-Escort Missions: Oh brother. You know, if the NPC you're trying to escort realizes they need the extra help...than why the hell do they keep trying to go off on their own!? To make matters worse, they tend to be at such a ridiculously low-level that they can be killed by just one attack. Dammit...

-Dying When You Haven't Saved: I don't think I need to go through this. You all know what I'm talking about.

-Getting Killed While Doing a Move You Didn't Mean To: I'm going to give an example that's fitting for this forum; Boosting in Sonic Generations when you meant to Homing Attack. And there's a huge gap below you. So long....

-Returning To An RPG Months Later and Having No Idea What You're Doing: I'm gonna have to restart Pokemon White because of this one...

-Water Levels: These are really annoying in Sonic games. Especially if you can't find any air bubbles and the timer is ticking down. Yeah...

-Encountering a Shiny Pokemon But Failing To Catch It: Oooooh yes. I know the feeling. You see a shiny, you want to catch it, but either it escapes all your Pokeballs, or worse - you don't have any Pokeballs!

-Someone Else Picks Your Favorite Character: Yep. And it's worse if the only character available is the one you can't stand.

-Running Out of Inventory Slots: What do you mean I can't have 100 items? I have to limit it to 99? Seriously? That's basically how it is.

-Watching Someone Struggle With A Puzzle You've Beaten:

Other Person: *has been playing for over an hour now* This is impossible!

Me: *thinking while rolling her eyes* No, it's actually really easy. You're just not paying attention, else you would have known to flip those two panels on the lest.

See what I mean?

-Watching Your Friend Scroll Through A Movelist: Can we please get on with the game now?

-Losing Because of a Broken Controller: Ever had the control stick of your N64 controller get stuck in one place? And then you end up walking off a cliff because you get fix it? I have.

-Falling of the Track in a Racing Game: Need I say more?

Racing game from before they invented the rewind: last lap, last corner. No matter how far in the lead you might be, you'll mess up and somehow go back to 5th place.

That's the real thing though. If you end up blowing it, in the last turn. There simply ain't no chance to redo that in real life. He he, but I see were your heading with this.
It'd be bloody hell if you'd mess up on one of those long extensive races that takes about an hour or least to fulfill. And everything has gone so smooth until the final corner. All stuff ruined if it weren't for the rewind button.

Nevertheless I have a one that I can come up to think of right now.
Al-controlled characters, narrow hallways, you'd end up collecting a treasure and then wishes to leave, but the frustration of one of the Al standing in the middle of your path. Can't exit, because their to damn stupid, realizing they need to move,

In turn you'd may have to re-load a game, getting back to a previous place. This is maybe why I sometime prefer the lone combat with you as the only character. Not saying ever game is like this. But there are some.
Working on banner, but if your looking to have some time off. Come, visit my channel on youtube.

Aww, it's over. Wouldvevoted unskippable cutscenes. OR GODDAMN BLUE SHELLS.

Golden Sun 3 is nutorious for the cutscenes. In the beginning, Issac will ask you if you know about Djinn, and not matter how you respons he'll make you watch the tutorial anyway.

Play Bionic Commando (Xbox 360 or PS3 -- whichever you prefer) and tell me how many times you raged at that game. I can't go even three minutes without raging the slightest >_>

Game. Is. Ridiculously. HARD! Even on easy, it's difficult (even though I'm playing on hard xD)

Lopsided matches in online shooter games

Gods, I know that feeling. I rarely have any matches that come close. Most are either my team is kicking ass or the other team is handing me my own.

It especially sucks when its games that do not have admins/mods, or in TF2 case, have a team scramble option that you know is 9/10 going to fail cause the other team does not want to play even.

Heres mine...

Going from First to Last Place in Crash Nitro Kart.

I was playing Crash Nitro Kart, and pretty much holding first place. I was playing the clocktower level. There is a huge wooden spot you land on after making a large jump. Its really hard to miss this. You have to try. I was on the last lap, about to place first while playing N.Gin. As I landed on the wooden board, I phased through it and fell into darkness for awhile before finally being pulled out. If I recall right, i was pretty much in last place around when I got back into the race.

Personally I found it more funny than frustrating since it comes right out of no where. Though it is frustrating having to do a race over again.

i just wwant to be beautiful for this one month
Getting stuck on a level that's not even supposed to be hard yet.

Chemical... Plant... *hangs self*

Mandatory Escort Missions.

If you're so pathetic you need someone to get you home, maybe you shouldn't have been traveling in the first place, you damn NPC.

Invalid Button Prompts.

Sonic Generations, I'm staring at you.

People who map-check and memorize maps, and who hit you from behind the first time you've ever played

I think this is self-explanatory.
i'm actually really sorry bout this
unfashionably late as alwways

I don't even keep track of these things anymore
The most frustrating thing in games for me is when your at a boss battle and it suddenly switches to a side view and expects you to know exactly what to do when you've never even played the level before. Then you die.
It's like, 'Thanks for nothing you stupid piece of crud game!'
