I also suppose it's an easy way to keep pushing Sonic back into mainstream relevance. I'm often surprised by how many adults don't know he has games beyond the Genesis ones.

The commercial is still enough to be watching Television, this comes on, and you blissfully throw your hands in the air with a cheesy grin and yell, "Sonic!" No harm, and it's simply because Sonic's on the rise again. It's still publicity.

It's a 30 second commercial, and I doubt they would've been able to get what the industry considers a line's worth of dialogue in there (only ten words, regardless of punctuation). And considering voice actors are paid by line, I could've given Roger the money to appear in this if a script had been written. But as Maverick said, the commercial doesn't need Sonic talking to work anyway. It's just a cute cameo and publicity for Sega. xP
