The Female Ultimate Life Form! Posts: 3,112 Group: E Rank Legend Member #59 Joined: April 29, 2006	I know there's not a lot of them to pick, but what was your favorite boss and/or rival battle? I think my favorite boss was the Egg Dragoon. I've never played the game this boss came from, so it was something new to me. It was a fun fight though. Perfect Chaos was pretty fun too, I always enjoyed that fight. Rival battle wise I liked fighting against Silver. Again, I think it's because I never played the game and it was something different.

Character Select Posts: 9 Group: E Rank Adventurer Member #12,741 Joined: January 30, 2012	For favorite rival battle I'd like to say Metal Sonic, if only for the glorious remix of Stardust Speedway (Bad Future), but I think the Shadow battle is probably the most impressive overall. The mechanics are implemented in a way that makes it a much more interesting fight than the others. I feel that the Havok/Hedgehog engine fits Sonic vs. Shadow perfectly. The best boss battle is Perfect Chaos, just slightly edging out Death Egg Robot imo. DER was neat (though in a novelty sort of way, like mentioned previously) and had an incredible remix, but it's hard to top Perfect Chaos.

It feels like the defeat of each of the rival battles was pretty embarrassing. I know Sonic has become stronger over time, but seriously. The Shadow and Silver one was a tie, although I have more time playing Shadow because of the nostalgia factor and remix of For True Story. And Perfect Chaos takes the cake for me. There is only so many times I can hear "Time for a change of pace!" or "That looks like a homing shot!" :/

Rather gruesome...I kinda like it, is that bad? ^^;

It's such a shame that all the impressive mechanics ultimately boil down to is you holding boost the entire fight and quick-stepping near the end. As funny as this sounds, I think the Shadow fight really would've been better without the boosting. Or at least without the energy cores which pretty much ensure victory when you get them, which is easily attained by simply boosting from the second the fight starts. Sonic vs. Shadow in Generations was literally "Boost to Win", a phrase which I constantly call bullshit on within the last three Sonic games. I mean, at least make the fight more than one phase long. Make it so Shadow gets stronger as the fight goes on. Make it so that he has some sort of advantage. Make the fight worth playing. As is it's simply pathetic and is easily the most forgettable boss battle I've ever played in a Sonic game. And as for Metal Sonic, while awesome music was in place, the fight itself was also pretty forgettable. I can't exactly remember how the fight played through, but I recall a few attacks which were more for show than to actually hit you. The fact that he just lingers there within jumping distance when he tires out also seems awkward. Hey man, I'm beat, I think I'll just take a rest right in front of the guy I'm trying to kill. Surely he won't jump out at me or anythi--OW F*** WHY DID I DO THAT. And then he keeps doing it. But hey, if there's anything I can say about these two boss battles, it's that they at least tell you what to do. Time Eater.

Character Select Posts: 16 Group: E Rank Adventurer Member #12,751 Joined: February 4, 2012 Playstation Network ID: scorpion67123	hehe my favorate boss i would pick the egg dragon because i use boost every time i face a boss and it dont take long for me to run out or get hit on that map so its a good challenge for me and cause i need to douge and get rings fast also when i do run out of boost its pritty much a one sidded fight cause i just feel alot better when im boosting and i wont panic when i panic or think to hard on trying to surive in any game ill just fail i just need to foces stay calm plan an attack and lets not forget have fun. now shadow hes my #1 favorate rivle 2 reasons fighting him is awsome and because i have an young uncle who calls him self shadow and hes also my rivle because we compeat against each other in games and hes a better gamer then me and i always compare him to shadow the hedghog cause hes just like him always quiet, all talk, about best and every thing, hehe. so egg dragon is faverate boss and shadow is favorate rivle hehe. Rival: Silver the Hedgehog. Being the Dreamcast fanatic I am today, I always loved playing Sonic Adventure, and Perfect Chaos was always fun to fun because it was Super Sonic's debut to the modern Sonic era. Love how they kept the music true to the boss because that music was completely awesome and only made me more hyped up about owning him once more.. Silver on the otherhand, sends chills down my spine when the cutscene plays before I can take control. The default music itself makes me completely in sync with the battle without mistake, and even then, like the other rival battles, I play their respective game's theme song (Metal: Sonic Boom, Shadow: Live and Learn, Silver: His World) ... Sadly, I will miss what made you annoying Silver, but I guess it's no use, so take this.. (::).. Edited by Sinistar, Feb 24 2012, 08:22 PM.
