The other side's reflection hidden under the light Posts: 619 Group: S Rank Knight Member #12,597 Joined: December 6, 2011	The place was packed. People crowding and shouting inside a dimly lit room. The tables were cleared from the middle leaving a pit like place for people to jump and applaud. Snow sat in the back trying to ignore the crowd and have a good time. She sat in one of the pushed away tables nervous of the crowd coming at her. The last participate went off the stage leaving it free for the announcer. Snow stared into her mug of milkshake not really listening. She had gotten some sort of free tickets to this show where people went up on stage and showed off. Some were good others had no talent and just wanted to be noticed. She sighed sipping at the chocolate icecream wishing she never came. " Now ladies and gentleman our final participate!" The announcer spun on the mike getting a wild whoop from the crowd. Snow flinched burying herself in her mind, it was almost finished atleast, "Give it up for Brandon! Singing 'Them Bones' by Alice in Chains!" The announcer hopped off stage allowing the next character up. Snow turned her head watching. The person up stage seemed handsome from afar. "How well can you sing?" She mumbled waiting to see what this hotshot could do.

He looked at the crowd to see one good looking Wolverine. He smiled at her as he sang the next verse... "Dust...............rise..............right on.....................over my time..." It was a short song...well to him, but it was his favorite. He glanced at her again...ignoring the other girls that sounded in love with him. Priscilla was there as well because the seventh and eighth grade had to come because the schools are connected (Scorch didn't know Priss at the time because he was still at a the Detention Zone.). Priscilla tried to find whom he was looking at. "Who the..." she murmured trying to look over the huge crowd. Then, she saw who it was. "The new girl? Why would he be..." she murmured as well. She sat down thinking.

He even smiled at her! Normally she was just a faded shadow in the background, even in school when she raised her hand to be noticed, it felt strange different but not entirely bad. She tapped her foot lightly in time to the music enjoying the beat. Someone else looked at her too but it didn't hit her as badly as the singer onstage, it was another younger girl but then again it had to be strange to see the newest "member" get a smile and glance from the boy onstage, specifically when other girls were "throwing" themselves at him. She continued to watch, mostly trying to see his fingertips on the guitar and how he strummed.

His freshman variety show went amazing. He did good on the middle school talent shows. He looked at Snow smiling. "I'd like a request. A challenge. Whatever it is...I'll play it," he said. He search through the crowd. "How about you, new gal?" he said pointing to Snow. The crowd grew quiet, hoping for a good request. A challenging one...

She nearly burst out of the room her face red as a cherry pie slice. Kids were staring, thier eyes chained on her and what she had to say. She bit at her hand pretending to think, she didn't know any great songs, nothing on acoustic but she was hit from somewhere with a great idea, "Dust in the Wind!" She spat it out before her mind could comprehened what she said. Snow slank in her chair shivering, waiting for the audience to turn away back to the show.

"Sorry, never heard of it, but I can do this song," he said as he started to play Breaking Benjamin - Medicate... (Warning, omniscient scene here...Brandon goes first and they take turns. at the verses...) "I've got something up my sleeve..." "I know you will cover me..." one of the guitarist sang. "Inside out and in between..." "I know you will cover me..." "I've got bruises on my knees..." "I know you will cover me..." "Inside out and in between...and I know you will cover, me!!! Run away, make hate, and get laid! And get laid! You turn me up, or had enough, so medicate, medicate..." Brandon sang the last part of the verse and chorus. "Hmm...not sure if singing to her...or singing about high school life in general..." Priscilla says as she saw him playing the acoustic.

Snow hummed until the last verse and started clapping, not the only one but it felt that way to her. Breaking Benjamin would be a band she had to see...or atleast find cds of. She didn't even notice herself smiling and showing her teeth. It had been years since leaving her past behind that her smile could come out as large. Snow felt herself softening to the song, losing the tension of the crowd and her own embarrassment. When Brandon was done. The host, Jeffrey St. Croix, said, "give it up to Brandon!" Everybody cheered. Brandon took the host's mic. "Listen, every band starts with inspiration...and supportive fans. I love being a freshman, though. Best time to be known. Pretty soon, I'll write my own songs and become famous. But for now, I do covers. I would like to thank Ray, my bassist, Jullian, my guitarist, Johnathan, my guitarist and secondary singer, and Devin, my drummer! Give a hands up for Velocity!" Brandon said. Velocity was the band name. "I would like to thank my supportive fans, and this girl that I just noticed," he said walking down as security had to block the crowd around him. He took Snow's hand and pulled her towards him. "She motivated me to sing these songs today," he said as girls got jealous and more people were screaming. He took her outside of the auditorium along with the band and Priscilla followed them.

Snow was taken by suprise and pulled close to Brandon, the crowds were reaching for her with thier long straining fingers growling at her or maybe that was just her anxiety talking. She was SO bright red turning nearly pink and she nearly pulled away the moment the cold breeze blew past her hair tugging the blue-black bangs out of her eyes reveling their dark golden shine in the silvery moon light but she looked up at him nearly trust worthily but her fingers slid from his grasp nervous. She turned her head away watching the ground shifting her booted feet. She slowly took a deep breath focusing on the cold controling herself bringing away the weakness calling on her strengths. " So...Brandon, why me." Her voice never wavered and she looked him deep in the eye losing the blush. He was handsome but if he was another one of...Them...then she could never be close even if he proved to be what she needed.

"Dumb b****," Priscilla mumbled under her breath. No one heard her. Brandon's band and Priscilla split apart. It was just Brandon and Snow. "Really...I just wanted to ask you out. Get to know you. You name the location and it's on me..." Brandon said.

She was startled very much and backed away, hiding her face and eyes behind her bangs. "But...I-i am Snow its-its nice to m-meet you b-but I haven't been here long en-enough to know anywhere. P-prove to me right now your," Snow flicked back her hair relying on the cold again to control herself come into her more predatory side, the stronger side, "not some guy just looking for some girl whose there for 'pleasure'." Snow snarled the last word bristling forcing down the shyness and suprise of the words Brandon sprang upoun her.
