If you're a regular Steam user, you'll be aware that Steam is right on into the Christmas season with lots and lots of SALES. All sorts of delicious discounts are going on (I'm kicking myself over some of the things I've missed) and you can bet Gaben's swimming pool full of banknotes will triple in size by the end of February (as will his belt size no doubt).

But what's REALLY fun is the Great Gift Pile even that's going on. Every day until the end of the month, Steam lists 7 special achievements that, if completed, will net you either a free game, a discount coupon or coal.

"FREE GAMES?! FREE DISCOUNTS?! COOL!" you say, "But what the hell do I do with friggin' COAL, I mean jeez."

Coal ain't useless, Billy (assuming that's your name); you can craft seven pieces of coal together into a gift (a random free game or discount coupon) or you can save them up 'til January 1st, whereupon each piece of coal becomes an entry in the Epic Holiday Giveaway competition. Some lucky gamers will get all sorts of stuff out of that; free games out of their wishlist and, for the Grand Prize Winner, how about, oh, I dunno, EVERY SINGLE GAME ON STEAM HOLY CRAP ARE YOU SEEING THIS?!

So yeah.

Steam people, be excited. Discuss what you've won, the difficulties in getting those pesky achievements and offer up trades for stuff you don't want. After all, one of today's achievements is to trade with someone on your Friends List! Make a trade and get ye some gifts~! >:3



Please Note: This was a thinly veiled effort by TUC to get rid of a 25% discount coupon for Serious Sam 3 that he really doesn't want or to go to waste. =<

 So far, I've acquired only three of the Great Gift Pile achievements and only got one piece of coal and two useless coupons. And I was all like "Wut?"

But yeah, I am liking the Great Gift Pile for the most part because of the Team Fortress 2 Christmas Event. The Pomson 6000 is by far the best Engineer weapon I've seen so far. I really hope they add more weapons like the Pomson 6000 in the future.

Also, a friend of mine got Deus Ex Human Revolution yesterday. Ironically, he's the only one out of my group of IRL friends who's not particularly interested in it, hahaha!

Since last year, every Christmas is Australian Christmas in TF2. And a whole bunch of new stuff usually gets released in Australian Christmas. So far, they released a shit load of WETA inspired futuristic weaponry, and a new map.

The Pomson 6000 is by far the best Engineer weapon I've seen so far. I really hope they add more weapons like the Pomson 6000 in the future.
