Sandopolis Act 1

I was looking through my game library and I found my old Sonic Advance 1 and 2 carts. I noticed how very overlooked the Advance series. I suppose Advance was in the Sonic Adventure 1/2/Heroes/Shadow era. But still, it's overlooked in most talks about recent Sonic games and games of the past. I never really liked the levels of Advance 1 and 2, but the techniques Sonic has in Advance 2 is actually quite large: homing attack, L-R boosting on trampolines, the double-tap forward, Attack with the B button... It has a lot of techniques once I think about it. Most of them aren't useful. The only time you really need anything other than the old run and jump and spindash is the Sky level in Advance 2. Anyone have any opinions on the Advance series, primarily 1 and 2. |

Good to be back

Ahh... Sonic Advance 2 was the first Sonic game I ever owned and MAN, I love it. It was a combination of everything that made the game so awesome for me; the music, the sense of adrenaline and speed, the setting of all the different stages and especially all the gameplay mechanics! This game made me fall in love with the Sonic series, and I still play it from time to time. <3 |

Sonic Advance will and always have a place in my heart, because I played it like none other game. To be honest, it opened up my love for Sonic even further before. The simple plot's kinda reminiscent of the classics such as the first game for example. |

I played every 3 Games. Sonic Advance 1 was the first game that I ever played in my life and I enjoyed it alot. In Sonic Advance 3 I liked the Tag team but not alot, the most OP team for me was Knux & Tails xD. Sonic Advance 2 is my favourite game of the Advance Games because it was interesting run to beat the bosses, the levels were the hardest and it's very hard to get the Emeralds (specially those special rings) and play this game with Sonic and Amy was really a true challenge. The thing I really liked about Sonic Advance 2 is that in the Final Zone you need to beat all the bosses again and then you fight the last one in a total different way. Still remember the fifth boss of Advance 2 that I hated and Metal Knuckles. The music are very cool and my favourite of Advance is the Chaos Angel Act 3. Edited by TheChaos, Jun 17 2012, 02:15 PM.

At first I only bought Advance 1 so I could access the Tiny Chao Garden so I could use it with SA2B, but after playing it a bit, I was impressed. It was pretty fast-paced which caught my attention. I'd give it a thumbs up! |

The games are great. I've played the games, I've exploited them and loved them. The third seems to be the most difficult, for me. Graphics are very clean, extremely colorful and fit the Gameboy Advance nicely. Tunes and their act 2 remixes fit each level well. It's just like the Genesis/Mega Drive, CD and 32X games with modern characters and at the same time it's like Sonic Adventure/2 in a side scrolling area. What I like most about them is the in depth replay value they offer with having more than just the simple three characters although characters like Big and Shadow would've been nice to play as. Hope they bring these to the 3DS Virtual Console, if they already haven't. |

Personally, i enjoyed them. I played 2&3 and they reminded me much of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and 3 with their multiplayer gaemplay. |
