I was extremely excited for the game, but somewhat glad I waited till Black Friday to pick it up for 20 bucks cheaper. It's a pretty fun game, but sadly, not worth the full $50.

My overall rating is that it was somewhat of a disappointment.

- Modern Sonic didn't give me that same rush of Speed like in Unleashed.
- The levels offer little replay value.
- Bosses were/became too easy and boring.
- Modern Sonic had too much platforming, not enough speed.
- Super Sonic added hardly any extra fun.
- Too short. Beat the story in a mere 4 hours.
- Some segments were aggravating.
- Not motivated to do missions or gather Red Rings.
- Minor glitches, such as double tap spikeballs or simply stopping in the middle of Boosting. Spindash also would stop short when I tried to use it.
- Some levels simply left a bad taste in my mouth. Like, "I'm never coming back here again," kinda taste.
- Skills seemed pointless.

I'm pretty sure there's more. I'll continue to edit when I think of more. Thoughts anyone?

The extra act over the useless challenges would of definitely been a better idea. But giving us new segments over a spit up piece of the level was definitely better, like they did with SA2: Battle.

But seriously, Super Sonic could of easily fit with all of the bosses, especially Shadow and Perfect Chaos.

And I believe we are all in agreement here. Skills are pointless. Thank you.

NO, you CAN pick up rings while boosting. The magnetism Sonic has is just really low compared to in SU so you have to actually run into them. ;-;

What we're talking about is the skill you can equip called Endless Boost. See, in this video the player is using the skill and running right into rings but not picking them up.

Actually, I didn't think you could pick up rings while boosting either. The only real time I noticed it in the whole game was when I used Super Sonic.

But Endless Boost is too risky to use on certain stages. I prefer using the skills that give you more boost and slowly Regen's your boost meter. Use it wisely and it'll be just like having Endless Boost.

But it's pretty obvious that it's for Expert Speed Runners.

One of the things I disliked in this game was how slow Super Sonic seemed. When I used Super Sonic in stages I had gotten an S rank in, I could usually just make it up to an A. Even the invincibility isn't worth it for how much speed is sacrificed by the way Super Sonic floats around, it isn't at all like playing Super Sonic in Sonic 2 or Sonic 3 and Knuckles.

I completely agree, even with the overpowered flying boost, it didn't seem faster at all. Classic Super Sonic didn't seem to have ANY kind of speed boost, and the Spin Dash even seemed weaker.

Super Sonic in S2 and Hyper Sonic was a nut case. I LOVED that.

With M-Super Sonic, you could make use of the flying if you only used it in strategic places, such as platforming areas.

Or even Sonic Colours, when you consider the way the level is tailored to Super's needs, along with the Infinite Boost. Of course, even that had its negative points...

Regarding M-Super, I myself don't see the point of a flying boost that takes up more than 2 rings a second.

As for Endless Boost... well it could be useful in certain parts, but overall it does seem just like a cheat with a downfall.

I do wonder why C-Super isn't all that fast, though. He almost went off the screen in Sonic 2 and 3&K...

My overall rating is that it was somewhat of a disappointment.

- Modern Sonic didn't give me that same rush of Speed like in Unleashed.
As in you can't hold X to win? Personally I thought the amount of speed was perfect.
- The levels offer little replay value.
Do sonic games ever? Besides, personally I think all the multiple paths make this game have the most replayablity
- Bosses were/became too easy and boring.
Agree with this one :V
- Modern Sonic had too much platforming, not enough speed.
Personally I thought they hit the perfect balance here. Unleashed had to much boost to win, Colors had to much platforming. Perhaps you're just ending up on the lower paths?
- Super Sonic added hardly any extra fun.
It's an optional feature. It's not quite as fun as I'd hoped, but it's a neat little extra.
- Too short. Beat the story in a mere 4 hours.
Agree here, though most Sonic games are :V
- Some segments were aggravating.
I was only frustrated during one part of Crisis city, but it was my fault anyways.
- Not motivated to do missions or gather Red Rings.
Red rings and missions unlock extras. Also it adds more to the game. You don't have to do them if you don't want.
- Minor glitches, such as double tap spikeballs or simply stopping in the middle of Boosting. Spindash also would stop short when I tried to use it.
Never happened to me.
- Some levels simply left a bad taste in my mouth. Like, "I'm never coming back here again," kinda taste.
Happened for me on Seaside Hill act 1
- Skills seemed pointless.
Really? I thought they were pretty neat. Added some cool little bonuses, and just gave some nice customization. Though once again, it's optional.

I'm pretty sure there's more. I'll continue to edit when I think of more. Thoughts anyone?

Because that boost goes at an insane speed and let's you completely pass obstacles.

However, skills were pretty pointless indeed, especially since they couldn't be used in Bosses or Challenges. Sure, they make it easier, but that's what they're there for...
Skills in would pretty much break the challenges...

No, as in the boost seemed weaker. It's a shame that all kids do nowadays to refer to Unleashed as 'Boost To Win' or w/e. You got your platforming from Werehog. Shaddap. >:V

"Nope, always hit the upper paths. A few levels did have a good blend IMO."
- Super Sonic added hardly any extra fun.
It's an optional feature. It's not quite as fun as I'd hoped, but it's a neat little extra.
Seeing as your mainly stuck to using him on final straightaways while you watch your ring count hopelessly drop in front of your very eyes, not very fun. Even the normal ring count goes down too fast.
- Some segments were aggravating.
I was only frustrated during one part of Crisis city, but it was my fault anyways.
My first runs of Seaside Hill and Planet Wisp were absolutely horrific. I was frustrated on Crisis City today trying to work on my Speed Run and collect Red Rings
- Not motivated to do missions or gather Red Rings.
Red rings and missions unlock extras. Also it adds more to the game. You don't have to do them if you don't want.
If it weren't for achievements, I probably wouldn't
- Minor glitches, such as double tap spikeballs or simply stopping in the middle of Boosting. Spindash also would stop short when I tried to use it.
I mentioned another glitch in my post.
- Some levels simply left a bad taste in my mouth. Like, "I'm never coming back here again," kinda taste.
Happened for me on Seaside Hill act 1
PLANET. F***ING. WISP.
- Skills seemed pointless.
Really? I thought they were pretty neat. Added some cool little bonuses, and just gave some nice customization. Though once again, it's optional.
They should just be accessible in more areas than just stages

Another horrible glitch I encountered while working on a perfect Speed Run today for Crisis City Act 2 was a camera glitch. When you hit a spring and fly upwards with exploding buildings around you, it appears you HAVE to hit the dash panels in order for the camera to accurately follow you. I stomped and boosted in front of the dash panels and as I flew up, the camera stayed focused on Sonic and was zoomed in, not showing the side buildings at all.

After that, the platforming was all hopeless and I was somehow 20-30 seconds ahead of my previous time. The camera was zoomed in too close to see the platforming and I would of no doubt died if I didn't have the level memorized. After hitting the 3 springs that take you to the next area, the camera was at a DIAGONAL view IN FRONT of Sonic. The view was too horrible to make it to the final stretch. I wish I had taken pictures, but I may attempt to re-create this glitch.

There are ABSOLUTELY NO camera controls in SG, which means it sucks majorly and glitches out more than Sonic 2006 does as a whole.

Yeah right... I've rarely had it glitch out and would say maybe 2 out of 1000 times would I have died from a bad camera. Not that it's perfect, it can be improved, but I had no problems with it.
