Sonic 4: Episode II

Ok here are my thoughts on Sonic 4. I never bought it because I just was not that interested in it. I tried the demo and I really did not mind the physics, it did not bother me. What bothered me is EVERYTHING I've seen from the game was exactly the same as before just packaged in a different wrapper.

That said, what do you expect in Episode II? I personally think Tails and Knuckles will be playable and that the physics will be changed. I think it'll be a very different game in gameplay and style. Sadly I doubt Episode I will be updated making it seem very outdated when the second episode comes out.

On a side note, anyone think Sonic 4 should have used the Generations engine? I know they did it in the style they did to appease nostalgia fans but I think the Hedgehog engine is simply much better.

I'm wondering, what in the world are the Red Rings for when we have visual evidence of Special Stages returning?
In the past the Red Rings were used to unlock concept art, songs, character models and the like, So I'm guessing the same rule applies here.

Either that or collecting all the Red Rings is how you unlock Tails as a playable character . . .

T.W.O.S: Why not just... not collect them?
But then they're just there.

Taunting me. :I

In all honesty I stopped bothering in Colors. And in Generations they were required for getting all the cool music that I like to play. I would've preferred if they just kept the collectible stuff in the little music noted you get for completing missions.

They weren't all that hard to find in Generations to be honest. Especially since the cast pretty much told you were each one was.

Anyway, they'll probably do what they've done in the last two games they appeared in: Unlock bonus stuff. Alternatively, perhaps collecting them will be the key to accessing the Special Stages in the first place, similar to how the Special Rings worked in Sonic Advance 2.

Apparently, Metal Sonic will be a playable character in "Episode Metal" for free to owners of Episode 1 at the 29 minute mark.

I am interested in this, apparently it's episode 1, with 4 exclusive levels. I wonder how this will play, and if Sega took in account the feed back to improve the levels with the new physics in mind. (apparently Metal Sonic also has a new move, see the aquatic part of the trailer with Metal.)

I have it but it's on my Wii.
So technically, I'm with you brotha.

I just got a little more interested in playing Sonic 4 again.
Which in my opinion is still a really good title in the series.
Much better than that garbage we're obtaining in Episode II.

...This is making me even sadder that they're not releasing Ep. II on the Wii...

=<

Wonder if they are gonna change the physics, though...

My! That's a pretty snazzy performance there!
Well at least it is good news. Sadly yes, no Wii, because I loved it over the 360 version in Episode 1, but as least it is good to play as Metal Sonic again since Adventure.

And I believe Ep:1 is 800 MS Points (i dunno about PSN) so it is good $10 to spend I suppose.

I diden't like sonic 4 Ep.1 much and there probaly wont be an Ep.2 because of a whole load of negative votes (about the physics).

One thing that concerns me is that there will be a lack of continuity between this and Episode I, re the Chaos Emeralds.

Will we have to collect them all again? Personally, I do think it would a cool event if they were stolen in the intro by Metal Sonic ala S3&K.

Failing that, reintroduce Hyper Sonic. :D

Oh hey a video let's--

*video doesn't work because virus*

:I

Erm, as far as this Metal Sonic thing goes, I might reinstall Episode I to my PS3 for that, but that will depend on whether or not the physics are improved upon.

Until then, my PS3 is Sonic 4-free. c:

Damn it. I've got Episode I on the Wii. D:

Will we still be able to purchase it if we don't have Episode I on the PS3 or 360? I'm hoping it won't be too pricey if we can.

Luckily for me, I own it on the PS3 and not the Wii.

Looking forward to the Metal Sonic stuff.

I could care less about the physics, I've heard about others encountering problems but I have never had any problems with them.

I never really had a problem with the physics when I first played it, but having gone back recently after playing Generations I can suddenly see what people were going on about. It's nothing game breaking for me but it's certainly rather off-putting.
