Okay, I have an idea. It's a pretty BA idea too, if you ask me. Alright, here it goes: =SB= Apparel. holds for applause We could totally manufacture Sonic Blast apparel and other such items and give them to our members. Like t-shirts and hats or whatever. It wouldnt be that hard. Then we could rep our little community and be all awesome! Okay so who's in?

As for who can manufacture such things, I happen to know of a site where T-shirts (at the very least) can be made and ordered... Assuming this idea takes off, which I'd be reluctant to suggest. shrug Maybe, maybe not.

I dont see a reason to charge our members for the apparel and merchandise made. I was thinking more along the lines of members just ordering what they want and me (+ whoever) making it and sending it to them. Of course there would be a limit to the free order before we started charging. As for actually "charging" and the exchange of money, I havent gotten that far yet, but Im sure something can be worked out. I was thinking that surely a few members at least would be interested in getting together and making this a little project. I already have some ideas, I just wanted to make sure that there would be some interest. Like, if people would actually be interested in receiving some merchandise; I dont want to put time and money and resources into manufacturing it if no one wants it. Especially if Im NOT selling it! xD Of course I would need some artistic ideas for designs, colours, styles, and special orders. I could see this happening, but only if people wanted it.

Since ALL of our logos include material made by Sega we could run into a legal issue there. Onto kittycakes. How would you make this stuff? Tshirts, mugs, etc all cost money to make plus people here are from all over the world. Shipping international costs a pretty penny. So I see nothing wrong with giving them away for our dedicated members but you're going to have to have money.

It's a website that takes care of all that for you - you give them designs, they convert it into items once money is paid up by a customer. They have all the cups/shirts/posters/etc in the world, ready to have stuff printed onto them. Have a look, right here. As for legalities, like I said before. People on DeviantART do it all the time through the Prints system. I'd need to look into it a bit more - or preferably, have Cy help me out with it because he's good with that sort of stuff - and you could offer items designed not by Sega, but the forum's members. Imagine a mug with a popular fan character on it? Sega don't own that.

I would definitely love to rock a Sonic Blast T-Shirt. A lot of people who make web comics and whatnot put their characters onto T-Shirts with fans all over the world with no problem. I really don't see why we couldn't do it. Its not impossible. It won't be easy but it sure is a possibility. As for getting in trouble with Sega, I really wonder if they would even find out about our shirts and merchandise if we are just going to be handing/selling it to our members.

But odds are it would have some sort of Sonic feel to it that they could possibly get pissed off at. I dunno. As for the idea, while it is a pretty neat one, I'm not entirely sure if I'd be interested myself. I mean I love this place but not nessesarily enough to put it on my T-shirt or anything like that. ^^; Plus I'm not sure if we even have enough active members to make the effort worthwhile. But maybe that's just me. -shrug-

It's too early for this! I dont want to start thinking yet! Okay. About producing the merchandise: Like MoD said, there are several ways to get this stuff manufactured. You can order it online (like MoD said) or take the order to a tailor or just hand make it if you know how to do that sort of thing (which I actually do, to an extent... I'm no expert and if someone wants me to hand-make some really fancy SB pantsuit for them, well they can just gtfo). I'm sure we can work out the exact details of how exactly this merchandise will be manufactured. In the meantime I'll check out that link MoD provided. As for shippin international, I'm not really worried about that yet. In fact, I'm not really worried about shipping anywhere yet. I just want to see how much interest this can generate, then worry about the finer details. In general, I know it costs quite a bit, and as long as it's not ridiculously outrageous, I'm sure I can handle shipping the free orders. I realized this whem I thought up the idea. About getting in trouble with Sega: I agree with Breezy. Those fools won't even notice. It'll be no big deal. Im just gonna repeat thet that it's been done before and theres no way we could get in any serious trouble. However, slightly altering some of the designs would prove an intelligent thimg to do, but let's just see when we get there. On a last note: I like Lilfate's idea for donations. I'm racking my brain for exactly who-what-where im terms of donations, of course Im not all too sure yet. But I'm open to more suggestions. There. Did I miss anything? (p.s. Im working on a rather stunning layout for all of this, which I will present to all of you good people soon, whenever it is done.)
