Agreed, I was just so surprised with those two. I was expecting action, action, action. Especially with Apes, where the film mainly focuses on the main relationship between Franco and Caesar, and it only picks up momentum at about the last half hour, although I'm not complaining, because those were some enjoyable scenes as well. It was surprisingly one of the best movies I've seen all year. So far, The Descendants, Midnight In Paris, The Tree Of Life, The Help, and Win/Win are my top five favorites. I really want to see Hugo. How was it, by the way? Edited by ShopKeeperTriumphs, Dec 15 2011, 04:46 PM.

Like a little kid begging me to play with it. For fifteen minutes. That's the day I realized that there was this entire life behind things, and this incredibly benevolent force that wanted me to know there was no reason to be afraid, ever. Video's a poor excuse, I know. But it helps me remember... I need to remember... Hugo was magnificent. It's one half historical fantasy with children and one half ode to early cinema. Although I hear the switch between the former and latter is a dividing line among people, I didn't particularly notice it nor do I think it's much a flaw now. Both parts of the film are done earnestly; it isn't at all a cynical piece, and better yet is still privy to Scorsese's prowess for strong film language and editing. I would give it a shot, at least very soon. December's gonna be a monster when it comes to big releases: Ghost Protocol, Tintin, and Dragon Tattoo triple combo. |

They're are. We get two Spielberg films in one month. How does that happen? And so I've heard. I was curious to what the movie was really about, because I've heard it recognized several divided topics throughout the movie. Scorsese summed it up himself quite well in an interview on Colbert. He really seems in for it specifically for the joy of film, Colbert actually had to stop him because his discussion on Hugo seemed endless. I was just so surprised at the pre-reception of Hugo, everyone was putting it down slightly because it was a children's film. We put Oz and E.T. so high on the list, why can't we have another acclaimed children's classic? |

Carnival Night Act 1

See, unlike music, I can easily figure out favorites for movies, though I love a lot of various movies!! My number 1 favorite would have to be Training Day. There's something about it I just LOVE, such a great movie, a great plot, and based on a true story. Well, more or less the antagonist is based on a real person, but yeah. Second in line is Aladdin. It's such a fantastic movie, and Jafar is my favorite villain of all time. He was like classy, sinister, smooth, and all in all just pure evil! From there I'd say Kill Bill Vol. 1 and 2, the Austin Powers series, Inception, Silence Of the Lambs, Hunchback Of Notre Dame, Get Him To The Greek, Big Daddy, the list just drags on! |

Well it's hard to name off EVERY good movie. That's why I capped my list off with 'the list drags on'. Because it really does. I could go in further with things like Hercules, Pulp Fiction, the Saw series.... actually I forgot to add The Dark Knight as one of my all time tops haha. But yeah, I mean it just drags on and on, Oceans 11, Superbad, Jackass (all), Beavis and Butthead Do America, The Green Mile, Stand and Deliver....... it never bloody ends! hahaha |

We've been watching a bunch of movies here in the house lately. Kung Fu Panda 2 was one of them and I must say that film was wonderful. Much more exciting than the first. Thor was pretty great too. Of all the super hero movies this year Thor was definitely the best. |
