Footsteps echoed in the quiet and dark inner part of the city. Dark, damp, and frigid was the night, the only light coming from the full moon. A young girl ran through the empty streets frantically, breathing hard and looking back constantly. The figure was no longer there, the dark figure of a young woman that had been following her, her whole walk home. The girl slowed down for a moment, her young eyes scanning the area behind her frantically, making sure that the woman was no longer there. Off she went again running. She thought that she was finally safe when out of the shadows came the figure, walking right out in front of her. It walked into the moonlight and revealed that was indeed a young woman. Her dark pink eyes looking menacingly at her while her mouth formed a huge wicked grin. Pieces of her long dark brown hair fell around her face, making her look even more intimidating some how. The girl stumbled back and ended up falling, her heart pounding against her chest wildly. "W-what do you want!? Why were you following me!? WHY!!??" The girl shouted almost in tears. The woman standing over her, who was named Maura giggled happily and clapped her hands as if she were a child. "Are you scared? Oh thats gonna make this so much more fun!" Maura's smile widened along with her eyes. "Don't worry. You don't understand now, but I assure you, you will soon. It will all make sense. And then, you won't feel afraid anymore!" She said, her voice in a childlike tone. "J-just get away from me!!" The girl shrieked, tears now streaming down her face. She was fearing for her life and she was right to do so. "Ohhh don't worry. You'll be very far away from this place, once your in the arms of your Savior. The one who embraces us with the hope of escape,"She said wrapping her arms around herself. "The one who relieves all our pain." "W-who are you talking about?" The trembling teenager asked. Maura simply giggled and said with her voice getting deeper and more menacing, "Why, Im talking about Death of course. Death makes everything so much better...." Right as the girl took in her breath to shriek a blood curdling scream, Maura had used her dark demonic energy to form a scythe and hacked away at the girl's chest and torso, piercing her heart and killing her almost instantly. The warm blood splattered on Maura's grinning face. "Mmmm. See? I told you wouldn't feel afraid anymore!" She said to the bloody corpse that laid there lifeless. A life now gone at the hands of this demon whose only purpose in life was to cause pain for her own amusment. |

While all this was going on, a ship flying through the night sky, and for as big as it was, made only a hum throughout the city. It could easily be taken as a simple airplane, oh but it was much, much more. Inside the ship held three passengers, a woman, who was the one piloting the entire ship, all on her own. Another, male, at a bench, tinkering with a gun that had never seen this earth. And one last one, another male, this one looking much more deathly. It could have just been the clothes he was wearing, black coat, open with a black tank top under it, and long, black pants. The only thing white with his entire outfit is his shoes and his own skin, which can't really be considered his outfit anyways. This man was simply sitting on an olive couch, eyes closed, head back, and his feet kicked up on a table in front of him. Next to him was music blaring on a stereo he had set up. Black and red, just as his favorite colors. His hair, much of the typical "emo" look, with one side of the bangs longer, covering his left eye. Which that being said, his right eye was completely visible, with the hair just passing his eyebrow. Past his ears, and down his back, the hair flowed. His eyes were that of a brown, but with another, closer look, there was a ring of green in both eyes. But his covered, left eye held a secret. The other male, who looked much less vicious, had short hair. Buzzed, pretty much. He was dawning his usual green T and black sport shorts. It was rather cool for him, since he hated being hot. His eye color was also a green to match his clothing style, which worked for him because his favorite color was green. He looked the same age as the other man in there, sitting on the couch. Both 20 years of age. The female, also the same age, had long, brown flowing hair that went down to her lower back. She liked it long that way. Brown eyes, a tad lighter tint than the male dawning the black apparel. Her clothes were a mix between pink and black, with her shirt being all black with the sleeves and collar pink, and a striped, pink and black skirt. The ship was quiet, deathly quiet, except for the music that was blaring on the black coated man's stereo. That of which the girl had enough of and demanded he put it to a stop. "Jak! Turn that crap off! I'm trying to fly!" She yelled. "Oh, hush. You know you're a good pilot given whatever circumstances." The man, clearly stated as Jak, replied in a very deep voice. The other male, with the green, stayed quiet. He wouldn't say it to the girl, but he really enjoyed the music that Jak was playing. But there's a very good reason for that, which is probably obvious to anyone who put a little thought to it. The ship was flying very high in the sky, avoiding the lights of the city. They needed to stay 'under the radar' for various reasons. And what better way to do that than keeping out of sight completely? It was made easier to do so given that the ship was a dark grey, which the blackness of the night engulfed. |

Maura licked her bloody finger as she pondered, then gave the corpse a disappointed look. "Oh damn. This body is no good either. How disappointing." She shook her head and sighed deeply. Maura could feel the weak energy coming from the freshly dead corpse. She needed a strong body to offer it to her new master. He was a strong lord from the underworld and she wanted to please him with a strong offering. But alas, her efforts have proven to be fruitless. Maura left the body where it was and walked away, her dark purple boots stomping on the concrete. She was also wearing black tight fitting jeans, a dark red corset with different designed patches sown in. She finished off the outfit with a black leather jacket with the sleeves rolled up. There has to be someone out there who would satisfy his hunger. I gotta look for someone strong. I guess Ill just have to do more searching. As she thought to herself she looked up at the dark night sky. That was when she noticed that large ship flying by. "Wow! Look at that thing. Its huge." She exclaimed. "Who could be flying that contraption? I wonder..." |

Jak reopened his eyes, now fixed on the other male on the ship. That male, that exact male was Jak's best friend, which he considered his brother. What else would you consider your best friend? Exactly. This male, Jak's best friend, could easily be seen as frustrated. His face was red, his eyes were bloodshot and droopy, and his skin was paling. He obviously needed to sleep. "Micheal. Give that shit a rest and go in for the night, bro." Jak told this Micheal. "Jak, we need weapons. Neither Haulsey or you can make them. And without them, we're f***ed." Micheal replied with a snappy tone. "Mike, I rely more on my hand-to-hand combat than my weapons anyways. Besides, you and I both know how you get when you're pissed off and tired. Shit stops working, then you break it. Now got to sleep." Jak told him once more, now demanding it. Micheal didn't say anything, but he wasn't going to argue with Jak anymore. With a small sigh, he stood up from the workbench and made his way to his room, which was right next to the bench. The door opened sideways from both sides when he got close to them, just like in the movies. Yea, cheesy. But who cared? It was awesome. Before he stepped in the room far enough for the door to close again, he turned to Jak. He had something in his pocket that he needed Jak to test. He reached in, pulled it out, gave a small look at it, then called Jak's name. It got Jak's attention of course, which Jak simply opened an eye to him. "Jak, I need to you to test this thing." Micheal simply stated. "Okay, let me see it." An even simpler reply from Jak. "It's something I've been working on for a while, I haven't named it yet, but it's meant to connect with your inner energy, and what it does... Well, that's a surprise." "Just let me see it, dammit." So Micheal did. He gave a small, underhand toss, passing the device, which looked just like a bracelet. It was a darker grey than the ship, almost black. And there were lines of red, blue, and green LED on them, just like a computer disk. It amazed Jak just by the lights on it. But he didn't let that distract him, so he shot his hand up and caught it, then slipped it on his right wrist. It made a small click, then a surge went through Jak's entire body. In a response, Jak let out a short yell of pain. As soon as the shock was over, the lights on it became brighter, and traveled faster. He gave a small look, then let out a small sigh just like Micheal had when he got up from the bench. "Good, just remember, that's a prototype. It's not water-resistant, fire-resistant, it doesn't take damage well, and if you use it too much, it burns out. If you encounter any of that, it'll blow your wrist off." Micheal explained. "You know, you could have told me this was practically a time bomb BEFORE I stuck it on my wrist..." Jak said with a sarcastic tone. He couldn't believe all of the risks he had to deal with just by wearing this small, metal wristband. Micheal gave a small shrug and stepped into his room. Then the door shut. Jak gave one more small sigh at the fact that this new invention was most likely going to be the reason he would be hand-less. But it was for Micheal, so it didn't piss him off as much. Since they were so high, they had no clue about this mysterious girl who had just decapitated another girl down in the streets below. Since she wasn't marked as an enemy, there was no way to know she was there, or that she had spotted the ship. But with how crazy she seemed, if she was going to board the ship, Jak would have a lot of work to do. Let's hope this device works... |
