Hello people, I hope you guys are all doing well.

You see, after seeing Generations and how-almost-everyone is excited by it, I was wondering: It's good to have a celebration game and all that, but what will happen after? Will people suddenly start yelling again about going downhill because it won't be as good as Generations? Will people start nitpicking the creativity once again? Will we only get clones of Colors and Sonic 3 from now on? We all have our different view about this, so I invite everyone to tell what type of game they'd like most after Generations. For instance, even if I love Unleashed, I'd like something totally new and innovative for the next game. Something that I won't expect and will surprise me in a good way, kinda like they're doing with some levels in Generations, but I'd like new gameplay as well. What about you guys?

I would enjoy anything too if it's good, but what I'd want most is something new.

When I'd rather see a Sonic Adventure 3 or another Modern-Style game but I already know after Generations we're going to be seeing Sonic 4: Act II. No real anticipation there.
-Sig under construction because the next thing I use will be hilarious-

Hey guys! Check out this game I made Here!

Personally, I have no real preference here. The Modern formula is working well for me so I don't really see a need to change it just yet. Chaning it too much tend to lead to problems. However if they did I'd probably enjoy it anyway. I mean I enjoyed '06 enough. *shrug*

For now I'm just looking foward to Generations to be honest. Not looking any further than that.

I wouldn't mind a game that stars one of the Sonic characters.

I tend to not be bothered by the game thats coming out...unless it is a classic style game done for the classic fans.

I object to your claims
What do I want to see after Generations? Well, to be honest, I just want something that's fun. There, end of story.

Alright, since you asked, there are certain things I would like to see.

Ahem....

For starters, I'd like Sonic's gameplay to be Modern-style, but with a few little tweaks here and there. I felt that while both good games, Unleashed had a tendency to focus too much on speed, while Colors focused too much on platforming. There needs to be a balance stuck. In other words, 50% of the gameplay in 2D, 50% in 3D.

There needs to be more characters playable then just Sonic. I want Tails, Knuckles (I'll get to him later), and Amy to be playable at least. However, I would not mind Shadow, Rouge, Blaze, or any of the Chaotix.

I want Robotnik to be the final boss of the game. None of this Perfect Chaos or Dark Gaia stuff. I want to see what was (re)started in Colors.

And speaking of, I don't want a Super Sonic fight at the end. Hell, I don't even want the Chaos Emeralds to be a part of the story at all. I want something a little more creative from SEGA then 'in order to save the world, Sonic had to collect all the seven Chaos Emeralds'. Part of the reason why I liked Colors is that it didn't conform to what is normally seen in the storylines of the franchise (though one could argue that in a way, the Wisps were kinda like living, breathing Chaos Emeralds, but I digress.)

As for the story itself....It can be cheesy, it can be serious, as long as it's enjoyable. I do not want a repeat of the tedium that was Sonic Adventure 2. I want the characters to show realistic emotion. I want them to have thier own personalities and quirks fitting to them. I want Knuckles to have a reason for leaving Angel Island if he's part of the storyline (Of course, when I said I didn't want the Chaos Emeralds a part of the story, I was thinking of the Master Emerald as well, so that may be hard to pull off. But if SEGA ever did, kudos to them). I felt Unleashed had the ideal tone of a story; meaningful plot with dialouge that had very good grasps of the characters.

Levels. I want the levels to be long. Like, ten minutes long. For each character. And I want to see something like a mix of how things were done in the Adventure series; have each character have thier own stages, but at the same time, have some stages shared among said characters. For these stages, I want to see alternate routes that can only be reached by certain characters - actually, I just want to see alternate routes for all the stages and you know what else would be cool? If the routes you take in the game determine where the story goes next. Sort of like a 'choose your own adventure' sthick if you know what I mean.

And, I want some more creativity in the themes of the stages. I have no problem with another city stage - heck, if SEGA can take the common themes of the franchise and add some extra creativity to them, that'd be fine with me - but I do feel they've been overdone. Maybe not quite as creative as Sweet Mountian (which is awesome, but meh), but still, some originality would be nice.

All I can think of for now. If I have anything else in mind, I'll post it up.

I'm actually kind of curious myself over what the next Sonic game will be after Generations, Iizuka has said Generations is an "end to a period" of Sonic games and this has left me curious to what this means for the future of games after Generations.

I do hope that there are some Classic-esque games, I mean seriously, There's potential now with the framework in Generations so there's no way they can say it can't be done. As for Modern games, I just hope they are fun, and I mean Generations levels of fun. Really, I am just hoping the games after Generations have the same amounts of effort and work poured into it.

Hm, maybe Sonic Heroes 2, I loved the first one, but I beat it within 5 days after I got it.

If I were to add something to it, more teams and longer stories. Maybe after you beat the good teams you unlock evil teams... Eh, I guess anything would be good.

Personally, I think they should try to make more gameplay variations to the teams first, or have them in different stages but your idea is still good.

For a jubilee, made out of diamonds.
They could make a crossover game for Sonic and NiGHTS since their the two biggest SEGA characters right now.

Or I always thought of Mighty getting his own game... *shot*.

I vote for another adventure game. I'll be disappointed when sega doesn't do it next year, but I'm sure they'll make another sonic game I can get into anyway, like generations. I plan on renting it this weekend.
