Star walked into the lab just after the professor had left. She was supposed to be helping him with some major project that he wouldn't really exaggerate on. All she knew is that it was supposed to be big and would change the world. He had to run to a nearby store to get some food. She had been tasked with just watching the lab. She wasn't supposed to touch anything. But it was rather interesting to be in the lab.

There were test tubes and all kinds of things making it seem pretty cool. But a device in one corner caught her eye. It was a large spherical structure that seemed to constantly change colors. It had a control panel nearby. The orb itself seemed to have no seams and just looked like a large glowing light. But she knew it was probably something more. She walked over and just looked at it. She knew better than to touch it. She had no idea what it would do and she didn't want to find out. At least not until the professor got back.

She sat down in a swiveling desk chair positioned next to the device. She leaned her head back in the chair and stared at the ceiling for a while before drifting off.

In her sleep her hand had fallen off the chair's arm and just dangled loosely.

When the professor came back he slammed the door and walked in with a large bag of groceries. The door slamming startled Star and her hand that had fallen off the chair flew upwards and she hit her hand on a switch on the control panel causing an alarm to go off. The orb began to change colors even faster before small cracks in it began to appear.

The professor dropped the bag and ran forward only to be pushed back by a massive forcefield and being pushed against the wall. Star seemed to be completely unaffected by this odd field. She just stared as the orb slowly cracked and started releasing light and eventually exploded in a flash of bright light and temporarily blinding both her and the professor.

Dominic smiled and slowly walked from his small home, ready to go on an adventure for the day! He had two good friends waiting for him, a sword on his belt, and a small pack of homemade food on his back. With he supplies together and accounted for, He took one last glance at his house before grabbing his necklace and ring, walking out of the home and locking the door. He wouldn't realize it now, but this would be the last time he would see his house, or his friends. All he cared about now was having a bit off fun before his friends went off to find work in other towns.

With a kick jog he easily caught up to his buddies Ein, Ledah, Fia, and Cierra. They all greeted him as the late arrival and started running to get out of the village before anyone noticed them. It wasn't hard, as even if they had been seen no one would have stopped them. The Autumn harvest had been collected, the building reinforced for winter, and the animals prepared, so they could have the day off.

It was about half an hour before they came to what they were looking for. a clearing set dead center in the forest. They had all agreed that on the last day they would be together, they must take a cat nap in the spot they first met. They all smiled and told a few joke as the sun went behind the cloud cover that regularly plagued the area. They gave each other blessings, then laid in the tall grass each one of them in a different corner of their square with their bags in the center as they dosed off.

When they awoke, Everything had fallen into their plan. A few beasts had surrounded them, and looked itching for a fight. The 4 friends drew their weapons, and charged, taking down as many monsters as they could. Before long, one was left......and it was the most horrible monster in the forest. The Necro slime. One whiff was enough to send anyone running, If the sight didn't scare them to paralysis first. The slime looked like clear rotting flesh, bones organs eyes and muscles floating around it it's vile form. So far, nothing had been able to stop this beast, not the greatest warrior, not the best mage. Three of the friends looked worried, but Dominic and Ein smiled, charging the beast, packs on their backs. With quick strikes, and expert timing, they were able to stop the beast from absorbing the dead monsters.

Just when the others joined the fight, The tables turned. The slime faked left for Dominic, then went right to Ein. He wasn't able to react fast enough, So Domonic dashed out, tackling Ein and falling into the beasts slime. "DOMINIC!" His friends yelled. As soon as he felt the slime touch his neck he knew it was over. "Goodbye, Scarlet witch." He whispered. softly, watching as he was covered in a blue glow, and the beast burst, destroying the core and causing it to fall. Dominic, sadly was not in the beast's remains.

--------------------------------------------------

As the machine overloaded and the flash blinded the two in the lab, A boy was thrown to the ground, his sword skittering across the lab as the vile slime followed him onto the ground. The boy's body was cut, a shard of metal in his arm, as blue liquid leaked from the wound.

The professor tried to stand but his footing was a bit wacky and his vision was shot. "Star. What's going on?" he said trying to look around but not seeing anything. His vision hadn't cleared yet completely.

Star didn't pay much heed to the professor. She immediately stepped over towards the boy, "What the hell? Is that a neko kid?" she said under her breath. She was a bit stunned until she noticed his arm was bleeding and she immediately ran over to get a first aid kit. As soon as she did she went back and told the boy to sit down, "I'm gonna need to bandage your wound but first we need to get that piece of metal out."

The boy was unresponsive as the vile slime started to dissolve bit and pieces of him. It took a few moment to stop, leaving his skin a little red, but no worse for wear. This must have happened before, as his skin was resistant to the vile slime, the metal in his arm, was not as lucky, quickly falling apart into a type of liquid metal that burned the boy's arm as it slid down into a puddle of slime. Dominic winced, but show any other signs of consciousness.

The blue liquid still slowly dripped down from the wound, seeming to be coming from his own veins. A ragged gasp showed he was still breathing as she started working on his arm.

Star stared in amazement at what was happening before her. She had heard about this kind of thing happening before but had never actually witnessed it in person. She waited patiently and hoped the boy would respond to her shortly. She didn't say anything. She tried to utter something but it just came out as a small squeak and she didn't try to speak after that. She almost wanted to touch the slime. For some reason it looked interesting to the touch.

The professor watched in amazement without speaking. He had heard stories of neko people but never thought he'd get to see one in person. His vision had cleared by this time but his body was starting to feel numb. He just sat there and watched and waited for the boy to speak.

The boy reacted quickly after his arm was patched up, his eyes shot open, he jumped to his feet and and kicked Star away, then dived for his sword with feline agility and balance. It was moments before he had the blade pointed at them. "Chi sei? Che cosa avete fatto a me?" He shouted keeping the blade trained on them. From the marks on the blade and handle, it looked like he knew how to use the blade better than any human. When he got no response, he tried again, but a little different this time. "Who are you? What did you do to me?"

Star stumbled backwards a little from the kick. She regained her footing and then stood her ground, "What the hell was that for?" she then heard him say something in a strange language. He had a sword pointed at her. She then heard him say something else but this time she understood him. "I'm Star. I did nothing to you. Well except maybe bring you here. But it was an accident I swear. A malfunction in a piece of equipment..." she trailed off mid sentence before looking up in thought and saying, "It must have caused a rift in the space-time continuum," she then turned to the boy yet again.

"I'm not going to hurt you so you can put the sword away. Trust me if I had wanted to hurt you I would have done so by now," she said taking a step forward. Her voice was stern and reassuring. At least that's what she thought it was. Whether it sounded that way was not entirely clear. She made small steps toward him and held out one hand as if to allow him to shake it. She smiled at him to try and reassure him that she was a friend.

The professor tried to stand but ended up bumping something and causing several small books on an overhead shelf to fall and hit him in the head, knocking him out completely.

Dominic stared at her carefully. He wasn't going to do anything silly, and he certainly wasn't letting his guard down. It was tempting, but he had fallen for too many of these tricks to do it again. "Do not take another step." He pointed his blade at her neck. "Or I will strike you down." His tail twitched lightly. "Why is your......clothing so strange......Time-space...continuum?" He said confused. "Where am I? What is the date!?" He said, having been knocked out for nearly 3 weeks before.

He jumped back again as the books fell, slicing one that fell in front of him, his blade cutting through the paper and faking it fall in confetti. He growled, the sound a bit like a hiss.

(By the way she isn't wearing her coat)

She stopped a few feet away. The sword just a few inches away. "Well considering these are the style of clothes I've been wearing for as long as I can remember they don't seem that strange. In fact they kind of compliment my body," she said trying to make a little small talk.

"Right now you are in a lab at the local college. And the date? Well it's September 15th 2032," she said with a smile. She looked into his eyes. She liked how they looked. "You don't have to worry. I won't hurt you," she said and grinned at him with a light smile.

((ok =3))

"Lab.......t-two thousand?!" He yelled out. "But.....That's impossible!" He said. "It is 231426, setrme 6th!" He yelled tackling her and holding the blade to her throat. "Ok you little Shika, Why are you lying to me?! WHO ARE YOU WORKING FOR!?" He growled his teeth. He would not hesitate to sink his blade into her throat. There was no way he went back in time, as They had nothing like this back then. Is it possible....That he had gone into the future? No...There was no way these....small eared tail-less beasts managed to overtake the Neko armies.

Star lay there and didn't seem scared. She grabbed his arm and bent it back hoping he would drop the knife. Her other hand grabbed his other arm and gripped it tightly. She was only using a small portion of her strength as to not try and hurt him too much. She was starting to grow annoyed and that usually was a bad sign, "I'm not lying. This is a college campus and we are in one of the science labs. And I don't work for anyone. Well except myself but that's a different story for later. AND WHAT THE HELL IS A SHIKA?! I may not be human but that doesn't give you any right to call me names!"

She didn't say another word and just stared into his eyes. She was almost to the point where she might consider using force to subdue this guy. She really hated having to but she knew she might have to. And if he tried to strike her she knew she might have to fight back and with full force.

"You are strong, for a shika." He hissed the word, but dropped the blade. "If what you say is true.....convince me that you're right." He said, his voice wavering a little. He was scared, scared he was out of his world, in a place he didn't understand. He looked around the room, the different machines, they looked like the devil's works. "Convince me this isn't a dream.......or the afterlife...." He said his voice much less stable, the fear showing.

"Alright. I am going to let go of your arms. But you better not try anything funny or I may be inclined to beat the snot out of you," she said as she loosened her grip on his arms and pushed him off her. She stood and dusted herself off. She kept an eye on the knife on the ground. If he tried to go for it she would beat him to a pulp and show him something to fear.

"As I've been trying to say you are in the year 2032 A.D. I don't know exactly but I think you might be from the past. Like the distant past. But that is just a guess," she said as she held out her hand to help him up. She gave him a friendly smile.

"I'm not sure how or why but it looks like you were transported here from your time. Quite strange when you think about it. I can almost guarantee that it had something to do with the machine that was shattered. That much is simple. But the how and why are still a mystery," a voice said from the shadows. A rather slim young man stepped forward and looked at them both as if awaiting a response.

"Koga! What the hell?! How long have you been standing there?!" Star said with a jolt. Koga always liked to do this kind of thing to her. Usually just sat back and watched her and helped her as needed. They both had been friends for a while now. In fact they were roommates.

"I've been in the room the entire time. Just been watching you make a mess of things. Although I didn't care to reveal that until later but it seems this kid has caught my interest," he said with a light hearted smile. He hadn't seen a neko kid before either and it seemed like Star might need some help.

"So kid. You got a name?" Koga asked. He walked forward till he was standing next to Star. "And don't be scared. We aren't going to hurt you. We are here to help you. You seem to be out of your element here which can be a bit intimidating. But there isn't any need to worry," he said with a friendly smile. He pushed a button on his watch which flipped the switch on the wall and turned on the overhead lights. The machines and test tubes seemed to take on a softer look. "That should make things a little better," he said.

Dominic relaxed and slowly shook out his arms, returning the blood to the limbs. He kneeled down and took his blade, then sheathed it, standing again and looked to the other man in the room. He closed his eyes and took the information in. It was a lot to take. "I'm Dom-" He stopped, his mouth open.

The information hit him like a ton of brick. He looked around the lab, at the calender in the room, the machines, the people, everything. He fell to his knees, a single sound came out of his mouth as his brain tried to comprehend everything. "Meep." He squeaked. If his mind was a machine, it would be exploding and blowing black smoke. He looked down to the ground, closing his eyes. He wouldn't be thinking anymore today. "I would like......to go to sleep now....." He said, his voice a little broken.

Without his mind guiding him, he simply took Star's hand, counting on her to guide him. His tail twitched lightly, but his eyes were unfocused. He had retreated into the deepest part of his mind, trying to sort out everything.

"It seems he might require rest. Come on Star. Let's take him home and get him in bed. He can use mine for the time being. I'll take the couch," Koga said as he walked out the door. Star held Dom's hand and guided him along as they walked. When they left the lab there was a hallway leading outside. It was night time.

"Good thing it's night. I don't know what people might think if they saw a neko boy," Star said.

"Yeah I doubt it would be very pretty. Since he is kinda rare," Koga sighed as they walked. They hadn't walked far when they came to a small complex. Koga walked up to the door labeled "10" and inserted a key and unlocked the door. Star led Dom inside and left him in the entry way and quickly went to the back of the apartment grabbing a set of clothes and coming back and handing them to him.

"You okay?" she said looking at him.

"This is home. Sorry for it being small. It's the best we can do for the time being. Make yourself at home," Koga said before grabbing some blankets and a pillow from a closet in the hallway. He then sat down on the couch and lay back readying to fall asleep. He through the blanket over himself and the pillow under his head and just relaxed.

"This is where you will sleep for the night," Star said leading Dom to the bedroom on the left side of the place. It had a relatively plain bed. Plenty of posters of anime characters and game posters. A flat screen TV was also in the room and a couple dressers on one wall and a desk on the other.

"I will let you get acquainted with the room. Are you hungry?" she asked.
