The Youkai had a tender, almost motherly smile on her face as she looked at the furious human that stood before her. "Yunizea, I mean you no ill will," she said in the sweetest voice she could muster, "but anyone in violation of the Covenant... anyone who risks the welfare of Fair Blue... Must be eliminated. That way, the chances of your land's prosperity-" "Save it, Dalma!" Yunizea interrupted. "He's innocent; he's practically a victim!" "I'm afraid that as soon as the deed is done, it can't be changed," answered the golden maiden. "He cannot be saved." She rose in the air and began flying. "Come back!" the human demanded. "I won't let you do this, Dalma!" But the Youkai continued to float away. Pitying Yunizea in what she thought was a fragile state of mind, she turned around, looking sad as she did, and locked eyes with the human. Dalma stopped in midair. The angry Yuze... She was just standing there, glaring angrily. This is... Dalma began to wonder. Before long, the world around her began to seem as if it were shattering, and she soon found herself, still standing in the same spot as before. Alone this time. An illusion! She trapped me in an illusion! --- After having left the Youkai trapped in a simple illusion, Yunizea had gotten past her and began chasing after the angel. He flew at a great speed, but the height at which he did steadily declined. Before long, he would land. But the human knew that wouldn't stop him; he's run if he had to. Of course, if he hit land before she caught up with him, she'd lose track of him. She needed to speed up. So she did. But no matter how fast she ran, the angel was still much faster. It was just then, however, that she caught a glimpse of it- of where he was headed. The docks! |

When he heard the noise from the Docks, Azrael knew exactly what they were as he had heard them before in previous trips to Fair Blue, that noise acted in a similar sense to how a light was to a firefly. It would bring in the curiosity of the firefly or rather, the individual in this case and trap them. Azrael disliked the noise... but something was off this time, as if it was deliberately doing something to him, he began to feel a slight burning his chest that grew rather quickly. Before he realized it, he had been swayed into the direction of the Docks. The Paladin attempted to resist, but his efforts were fruitless. The noise was something to him, the angel thought. He was not about to find out though, even as he resisted. The sound grew louder and louder as he approached until it broke his train of thought. He couldn't think rationally anymore, even if he wasn't that rational to begin with. Azrael's only goal now was to stop himself, with all of his might and pure stubbornness, the Paladin pulled out his blade and impaled himself through the waist. He spat out some blood before crashing down on top of a building, said building in question was the roof of a warehouse inside the very same docks emitting then noise. Azrael had noticed that too late. He uttered the appropriate human word for the situation before slipping into unconsciousness. "...Shit." --- Reficul stood in his office, today was a rather late day for him to be working. He didn't mind it though, since he wasn't human at all. And time had operated different pace, albeit much faster than the most people. What did bother him was two things, being late for a rather late-night day at the office and that noise at the docks. He had grown to stand that bothersome noise at the docks, but it still was rather much of a headache for him, the same way a fire alarm is to some people. He dismissed that thought to look out his window as usual and stared at some of the cars rushing by. What he did think about though was that girl back there, he had bummed into her accidentally while in a rush to get to his job and knocked her stuff to the ground. He could have ignored it and ran off to get to his job but it was unlike a noble demon like him to not be polite, so he went back to help the woman out and gather her belongings. He had a brief chat with her as well before he had to rush off. The whole incident back there made him five minutes late though. But he's concern wasn't on being late after that however, what he did have his attention on was that human girl... Evelyn. He wasn't some sort of feeling of love say, but it was really more something on the lines of intrigue. It was the first time in nearly a thousand or so years since a human, specifically a woman had peaked his curiosity. Reficul smiled with a typical demon grin, with a fang sticking out slightly. He definitely looked forward and hoped to meet her again one day... But what he still couldn't stand though was that damned noise at the docks. The demon responded by shutting off the noise by putting on a pair of plugs. Which helped lessen the loudness of noise, but didn't really stop it completely. At least he could think clearly again... His frown turned back into fanged smile almost instantly after quieting the noise and returned to reviewing several cases. |
