Like anything that seems appealing on the outside, Fair Blue had some dark secrets hidden beneath the exterior. The biggest skeleton in her closet, however, was an abnormally high concentration of supernatural activity. In addition to being the home of many older mage families, it had a habit of attracting youkai, demons and some of the few angels who chose to ignore the Territorial Covenant, and as a result became a regular battlefield. This in turn attracted supernal hunters, demon-worshipping cults and other groups of humans who had business with the supernal races. Ghost stories were pretty rare, however; though with all those youkai wandering about, it's hardly surprising that spirits would mostly steer clear of it. But that's not to say it didn't have a few urban legends floating about. Well, you can't wage species-on-species warfare in the middle of a city without some of the locals noticing. Mysterious disappearances and murders often went cold due to a lack of clues, much to the frustration of the local police department, and a few locations around Fair Blue carried rather disturbing rumours. One rumour in particular suggests that there's a secret entrace beneath a local mall in the underground carpark. What it's an entrace to exactly, the rumour doesn't say. Well, you've probably already guessed what it is, having read the story's background info. Hey, I might be the narrator, but it's not like I'm not allowed to reference some meta information. So yes, before you start double-guessing yourselves, it's definitely a MAENAD outpost, the very same one that's producing a battalion of anti-supernal cyborgs. The first batch is scheduled to be released in just under a month; it's a race against time for those who seek to stop them, and it's a long challenge of endurance for those who seek to defend the project. Whatever side you're on (or even if you're not on a 'side' at all), it's gonna be one heck of a wild month. Our tale begins on Wednesday the 6th, Week 1, sometime around midnight. After all, there's no time more perfect for those of a supernatural affinity than under the light of the moon... |

A bright golden figure stood on a tall building that was overlooking the city of Fair Blue. The figure stood at seven feet tall and bore large wings, large ivory wings. Which promptly rose to take flight, the angel jumped off the building and let the wind take him as the angel known as Azrael Ahadiel flew above the city. He was looked down at the streets below him, seeing some cars passing by and humans walking around still. He was disgusted by the ignorant insects below him, he openly opposed the Territorial Covenant made between the several races that made up the planes of existence. He could not grasp the idea of co-existing with the lesser species... especially the vile demons of the forsaken Abyss. Azrael would rather kill one of those 'evil' creatures than to live with one on... peaceful terms. Gah! was his response to that idea. He continued to sail around as he looked for some sort of action waiting for him. Another reason why he hated the Territorial Covenant was that it effectively destroyed his career, he was a warrior, not a peace-maker... He was ashamed to have been demoted from such a high ranking general to a 'desk-job' that involves pushing a stylus against tablets. He was sick of it. These vile creatures must be exterminated... --- Evelyn was tired, it was a long day at work as usual. She disliked working part time at a restaurant to make some spare change. Thankfully, her apartment wasn't too far away from where she worked, so she didn't need to walk far. She let out a small yawn as she stopped to press the button for pedestrian signal to cross the street. However, she was unaware of the man who was in a hurry bumped into her by accident, dropping her portfolio and spilling several sheets of typed paper on the concrete. "Gah, my book!" she exclaimed in response, she immediately got down on her knees and tried to gather the papers on the ground. The man who bumped into her got down to help as well. "Sorry miss, I wasn't paying attention!" he apologized. It took them a minute to gather the papers of the ground and shove them back in her portfolio. Evelyn got back up off the ground and sighed "These would be a bitch to print again if I were to lose them..." "Again, I am sorry miss. I wasn't paying attention when I bumped into you." "No, it was my fault. I was tired and didn't pay attention to how I was holding my portfolio..." responded Evelyn justifying herself and trying to take the blame for someone else. She was too nice to blame anyone really. She scratched the back of head as she turned to look at the man, she somehow recognized him from somewhere but she couldn't quite put her finger on it. "Sorry if I am rude or anything, but you look awfully familiar." Evelyn said. "I get that sometimes. Allow me to introduce myself. I am District Attorney Reficul." Evelyn felt slightly disturbed by that name, like it wasn't right. But she was too tired to really think into it. "The District Attorney, huh. I knew I remembered you from somewhere." she said instead. "I take it you've seen my advertisements on the television for my re-election, then?" he asked. "Yeah, they pop up occasionally when I w-" she stopped. "Oh, how rude of me! I forgot to introduce myself." she raised her hand out to give a handshake. "I'm Evelyn." Reficul responded likewise by shaking her hand. "There's no need to introduce yourself, but... nice to meet you. Ms. Evelyn." Reficul checked his watch and exclaimed to himself. Shit, I am running late now. These humans have the most odd scheduling system now these days. He turned to Evelyn. "I am sorry, but I have to run. I have a case to make. It was nice meeting you Evelyn." He then started hurrying down the sidewalk. Evelyn waved a little as he left, and let out another yawn. Reminding her that she needs to go home and sleep. Still, there was something odd about that man. |

"I told you, I've accepted the job already! It would be disastrous for my reputation to not show up!" "That was not my point. We know there is a golem-manufacturing base nearby. It is likely a trap." The brown-blonde-red haired (Really, her hair couldn't make up its mind on what colour it was, more like a blend) woman slid a few more blades onto the band around her leg, tightening the velcro band securing the band there. "I don't know anything about a trap. aren't those golems set for a lot later?" Her companion, a gangly man in his early 20s with hair slightly lower than his jaw in a similar colour, sighed. "You are smarter than that. Don't pretend to be naive to appease me. That whole area is going to be a battlefield." The woman pulled her hair up into a ponytail and grabbed a few spherical objects from a very cluttered counter. "I know it'll be nasty. But this is my job." He sighed again. "Let me come with you. You will be safer." "No!" The woman turned to face the man in annoyance. "You can't. Mages would be on us in an instant." "They will be there anyways. Let them come try to touch us." She turned around again, grabbing another handful of spherical objects. "You're feeling brave today, huh, Lexter?" "Just be safe." The man turned back to something he was working on. The woman paused, then walked over to her companion. "Hey, I didn't mean it like that, Daniel. You wouldn't like what I do." "I don't like what you do, Isa. What happens when one day, you get injured, and some... some f***ing demon or angel comes along-" "Then I'll die, won't I? Besides, you need someone to test these out, right?" Isa tossed one of the spheres up in the air. He didn't respond. Isa knew the conversation was over for now. "I'll call you after the job." |

From his dimly lit apartment window, just atop a bookstore front, Sol stared out into the orange-lit streets of the city spanning far out. He let out a sigh as his insomnia-stricken eyes meandered the pan of his northward view of Fair Blue. Nights have been uneasy for him since he moved to Fair Blue last month and little could be done about the noise of his neighbor across the hall on the account of the tenants happening to be the building owners. Other thoughts plagued Sol's mind as he returned to the busy, haphazardly stacked mess of books and papers covering his desk. In front of him was the intense, blue glare of his laptop screen, various windows and models on display of his project he was working on in his college class for engineering. And though he showed considerable proficiency in his field of choice, his grades were slipping due to these thoughts. The fact was that since he came to Fair Blue, stories of murders, disappearances, and various, strange phenomena were occurring everywhere. Meanwhile, dreams that played out in his sleep like a story unfolding. Instead of erratic and forgettable, these dreams played out very clearly. Yielding more and more of events from a time and place unfamiliar to him. He stared for a few seconds blankly at his laptop, his hands propping his head up through his messy hair. Seconds turned into minutes. He could feel himself becoming flustered as his anxiety leveled higher while the memories of the stories in town congealed with his dreams. At that, he shook his head, took off his rounded reading glasses, and grabbed his keys and wallet. "I need to get out of this apartment for a while. Even just to get my mind off things.", he thought. He left his apartment, locking the door behind him and descended the stairs; out into the streets. The pavement and concrete appeared damp. It had rained lightly just a couple of hours ago, but it was a downpour to the north. The air still faintly smelled of ozone too. He began to walk on out across the still, quiet avenue towards the park in the back of the college, where student apartments surrounded the square. Little brick-paved pathways cut in between some of the units, revealing the oaks and dimly lit benches along the meandering paths. Sol entered, trying to relax in the cool midnight breeze. He stopped just before one of the building's rear entrances to the college. An abstract statue crafted of carved of beautifully textured stone stood tall, but still dwarfed by the surrounding trees. Sol's eyes were growing heavy and his mind slowly becoming numb. He hadn't felt such a drowsiness in a long time. The walk in the park seemed to have been enough to calm his nerves. He let out a sigh of relief and turned around to return to his apartment, the wind around him seeming to pick up in a more ominous manner. "Another storm?", he wondered as he made his way towards the park gate between two apartment units facing his street. |

The shadows were everything. That was one of the things Alexis Blake had been taught by her teachers many years ago. And in a way, there was some truth to that. The shadows could help her, keep her hidden from a target until the right moment. They could also hinder her, allowing someone to sneak up on her. With the shadows everywhere, she’d never have to worry about find a place to hide – it was finding a good place that was the issue. But again with the shadows everywhere, that meant her enemies had locations they could take refuge in. Until she walked by, that is… The shadows were a blessing and curse. Victory and defeat. Life and death. And for today, they were a blessing. Alexis stood in the darkest area of an alleyway, waiting. The only sound that she could hear was the steady cadence of pattering rain – even her own breathing was silent, something else that she had been taught by her teachers. She heaved a silent sigh. One of the things she most hated to do was wait. For anything. People, events, holidays, whatever it was, she despised waiting for them. But patience was yet another thing she had been taught and years of experience had allowed her to wait on almost anything. Didn’t mean she had to like it, of course. “Odd, I was told he’d be passing by this place at this time? Is he running late for something I wonder. Damn, why do my targets always have to make me wait?” The assassin looked at her watch. 11: 58. This was going to be a long night… |

TIME TO REALLY EXPLODE!
|
"No... don't, please-" The human was cut off by a swift right hook to the face. He fell into a crumpled heap to the ground, managing to barely glance up at his attacker. Raxis-Tor looked down at him, standing a tall nine feet, his wide shoulders giving him an imposing figure, despite his rather lithe and slender body. As unsettling as the fact that he was a demon was, the various jagged pieces of metal and spikes sticking out from Raxis-Tor's body struck terror into the human lying before him. "Consider yourself lucky..." growled Raxis-Tor, taking a step towards the cowering human. "You are about to help create something great... you will ascend beyond the limitations of your current, pathetic form!" "I don't want this! Please! Let me go! I beg you!" pleaded the human, managing to crawl over to Raxis-Tor's feet. "You don't have a choice..." said Raxis-Tor, pointing at him and firing a jolt of electricity. The shock was enough to knock out the human. "Take him to Lab One..." said Raxis-Tor, turning to two small imp-like demons which were at his side. They nodded and dragged the human off, traversing down the dark halls of the monstrous building which housed Raxis-Tor's twisted laboratories. "It's only a matter of time until we abolish that foolish Covenant and conquer Avalon as well..." Raxis-Tor muttered, looking up to the skies of the Abyss. As the prospect of his dreams brought him great delight, Raxis-Tor turned and walked into the laboratory, eager to continue his twisted experimentation. ------ He mainly kept to the outskirts of Fair Blue, at the moment wanting to avoid much attention. The very few passerby who ever encountered him thought him to be a statue- a very crudely designed one at that. He was not insulted; he assumed humans were not used to seeing animated piles of stone walking around, for the most part. Granted, magic and other abilities were in the hands of humans, well, some humans. Perhaps he wasn't too weird in concept after all. Nevertheless, he felt as though he was imposing enough due to his size. Regardless, Desmus the golem knew that his duty was to protect these humans, as well as the rest of the flora and fauna of the realm of Earth. There was imminent trouble; Desmus had a hunch that a great conflict was on the horizon. The demons and angels, beings of great power, had members of each species which opposed the Territorial Covenant and wished to conquer, enslave, and just kill the humans for the most part. Desmus was most surprised at hearing how some angels viewed humanity with disgust. But then again, he knew very few angels personally. There was only his creator, Gatyr, and the one who befriended him after Gatyr's death, Artus. They were benevolent, viewing humans in a great light. Desmus shook his head, shaking the thought from his mind. He had to honor Gatyr's wish and protect, no matter what. "I must go to the city..." And with that, Desmus began his trek towards Fair Blue. |

Fear the cold...
|
The spirit hovered above the street, past the endless masses that seemed to have no end. He watched as the humans, angels, and demons alike wandered endlessly, almost aimlessly, through Fair Blue. Looking down upon them, he noticed that it seemed as if everyone had somewhere important to go. Who knows for sure? Are they all doing what they must do in life, even if they're unsure of the right path? If they were to stray from such a path, would there be any consequences at all? Is there somebody watching over them all, watching to make sure of everyone's chosen path and- "This is stupid." Cyrus had quickly grown tired of eying the citizens below. It may have been interesting to others who enjoyed seeing others on the ground, watching them scuttle like tiny ants. Unfortunately, once you've seen a congested city street, you've just about seen them all. Cyrus had just about seen every city street there was as well, with unsatisfactory results. There was, unfortunately, no street that held even any remote interest for him. He wondered himself why he was there, staring so intently in the first place. With no visible answer in sight, he sighed quietly to himself, plagued with boredom. With no other plan in sight, he left the edge of the building, which happened to be the tallest building in Fair Blue. His eyes seemed distant as he stepped through the metal door leading down to a stair way, which led continuously down until it had reached the ground floor. With nothing better to do, Cyrus took the stairs to the ground floor, sauntering lazily as he went. His mind was drifting lazily from thought to thought, having nothing better to do since Cyrus was a spirit, but Cyrus paid it no "mind" as he drifted down the stairs at a snail's pace. He had no thought of Yokai catching him, only boredom. |

Zzzzz.... Zzzzzz... Wake up. Zzzzz... Zzzzzzz... WAKE UP. "What, who?" Jake said has he falls down from the park bench. "What's this time Eniel?" He ask the young girl, has he sits down on the bench again. "I've got dinner." She said. They both sit down in opposite sides of the bench and Eniel put the food in the middle. The food was from a fast food restaurant, two burgers, french fries and two drinks. The night had just started, the wind was a little strong and the park was full of green. "You have been getting lazier since you lost your job." Eniel said, after she finished eating her dinner. "I'm sorry." She replied. "look, its nothing ok. Being a bounty hunter is a life or death job. Especially against Demons." He said has he finish his diner. After they clean it up, Jake and Eniel got back to there small apartment. Austin brushed a dark golden lock from in front of his eyes as he caught his breath on a park bench. He and a bunch of friends had pulled an impromptu all-night jam session in one of their garages, harboring dreams of making the "big time." Not likely, but it was a dream he could get behind, maybe. If... If. If he could repay his debt to the spirit who had saved his life three years ago. Not that he knew how. Every time he thought of doing something for himself, he'd get a flashback to the accident, and an unshakeable feeling that there was unfinished business he'd been wanted to take care of in exchange for remaining alive. He sighed, not liking to think about that day... |
| Indeed, there is nothing more repulsive than these monsters that defy nature and are known by the name of witcher, as they are the offspring of foul sorcery and witchcraft. They are unscrupulous scoundrels without conscience and virtue, veritable creatures from hell capable only of taking lives. They have no place amongst decent and honest folk. | |

Azrael had flown for around an hour now, he hadn't seen much activity in the city of Fair Blue. Besides the pitiful human traffic of-course, if he wasn't bound by the Territorial Covenant, he would have slain these worthless creatures that are accumulating this sacred space of land. It was no secret that Azrael despised anything that wasn't an angel. Such as humans, youkai, and spirits. Despite the first former and the latter being essential to the reproduction to their species. So, the angels with the higher political power had to make sure he was chained up with his duties so he wouldn't break the Territorial Covenant and start an all-out war between the species. His duties were simple though, he was to simply carry out the deeds of those willing to bide by the binding agreement between the species. Which usually meant he would have to work with humans and on occasion, demons who believed in honoring the Covenant, this would continually frustrate him as he would be forced to work with the very beings he swore by oath to exterminate from the planes... But there was an upside to it, they would send him usually to hunt other demons who are terrorizing the mortal realm, so he at the very least got to kill something he swore to exterminate. His assignment was to locate and exterminate what would be considered a demon 'hive' of Crociders. Azrael had experience with dealing with such creatures that would build these hives. They were about three feet tall, and resembled the beasts called spiders of the mortal realm. The only difference between this type of demon and the 'spiders' is that they had reptilian-like faces which bore razor-sharp teeth with paralyzing venom inside their fangs, which would normally be fatal to an ordinary human being. But to an angel like Azrael, it was a minor annoyance. After an hour of flying, the angel paladin had located the supposed location the Crocider Hive. He suddenly shifted course and landed in an alleyway, upon landing. He noticed he stepped on something, he looked down below his feet and saw a crushed bloody skeleton of what was a human being. A grim sign that he indeed found the right place. He quickly prepared himself for whatever ambush laid in wait for him. He may have been a zealot, but he wasn't completely stupid. He knew how clever demons could be, and as such he had to be ready for whatever awaited him. He summoned one of his massive energy-like metal blades that he usually carried into battle. Almost instantly after summoning the blade, a Crocider pounced on his shoulder. It hissed at the golden angel, then it spoke in a threatening tone. "Angelspawn, have you come here for us to feast upon?" Azrael's reply was simply crushing it against the nearest brick wall to him, killing the demon instantly, dissipating shortly after. "No, vile creature. I've come here to exterminate some vermin!" Upon saying that last word, the entire alley woke up in a sense. The same hissing sound the previous demon emitted than came from all directions. He tightened his grip on his blade, which in response began to glow brightly and vibrate in a sense. "Come, face me in battle! Or are we playing hide and seek?" shouted the paladin. Ten more of the creatures suddenly jumped down from above and landed on his back. They weren't heavy by his standards, but still in a group that big. He couldn't help but be slammed into the ground. Azrael quickly recovered, and flapped open his giant wings, knocking all but one of the creatures off his back. He got back up as quickly as he fell and did a backwards pile-driver with the Crocider against the concrete. Crushing the demon and turning it into a massive bloody pulp. Already, Azrael was soaked in blood, but he didn't mind. In fact, he enjoyed it a lot more than most angels would, he was a blood thirsty warmonger after all. He got back up, grabbing his blade from the ground. And before he knew it, hundreds of the Crocider's swarmed the opposite side of alleyway, hissing at him angrily. "This is going to be fun..." |

“Okay, this is getting old.” 12:05, and Alexis’ target still hadn’t arrived. Now, not only was the assassin getting tired of waiting, she was also getting a little bored. She pressed her body closer to the wall and heaved a breathless sigh. There was no reason for him to be late, no reason at all, unless perhaps he was being kept late on purpose. Or, someone else had gotten to him first. Alexis looked up at the dark sky. Raindrops pelted her face and ran down her skin as she considered this possibility. This highly likely possibility. She took a step forward, then stopped. She thought of something else. “What if this is their plan? What if they want me to believe that something happened, so they can draw me out and try to kill me? So, do I take the risk, or do I play it safe and stay here?” The human thought about what she should do for a few minutes, quickly weighing the pros and cons of her options. She could stay where she was and continue waiting. But if there was someone waiting for her, then they could both be here all night. And while Alexis had been trained for late night skirmishes, one of the things she didn’t like to miss was a night’s worth of replenishing sleep. On the other hand, if she stepped out of the shadows, she would be wide open for an attack. Of course, so would they… “This is the toughest decision I’ve had to make all night. To step out, or not to step out?” Alexis slowly pulled her body away from the wall. The young woman took a deep breath, trying to make as little noise as was possible. Nerves steeled, she braced herself for what she was about to do next. Yes, she had decided to take the risk and step out of the shadows. |

Somewhere unimaginably far away, a pair of eyes swept across a computer screen. Telemetric data - conveyed from a 'cabal' of clairvoyants, through a series of converters of alchemical design and to the aether-driven supercomputers - danced across the screen, appearing and disappearing, updating, refreshing, then updating again, all in a constant state of undulation overlaying a map of the Earth. Soft blue holograms. Blue meant all was right. No intrusions. Yes, it was possible to defy the cabal's sight for a while, but not forever. Eventually, one of them would notice something amiss, and when they did, something on the ever-changing screen would turn- RED A klaxon rung in the ears that belonged to the same thing that watched the screen. Their hands touched the screen, moved fingers across it, and the map rotated and zoomed in on a patch of red. "Invaders detected," the watcher said in a cool, dispassionate voice, "Closing in on the target... It's the 'Cobalt Anchor', ma'am." "Tch... Something was bound to happen there," replied an authoritative voice that was strained by the obvious suppression of an urge to curse (and loudly), "I'd rather leave it to the local gathering to handle it, but this might get out of control. Is Arsageln in the region?" "Affirmative. Commander... Forgive me, but... Even considering the scale of this occurrence, is it advisable to send him? He may get carried away. Furthermore, his relationship with-" "He won't need to come within a hundred metres of that place. Just dispatch him as soon as possible." "Yes ma'am." Somewhere closer to home, a man who sat upon the top of a mountain - shirt removed in defiance of the cold night air - held a hand to one side of his head for a moment. After the telepathic message finished relaying to him, he lowered his hand, muttered his grievances to the universe and put his shirt back on. It wouldn't do to go sauntering into town this late at night without looking at least half-decent. "They're certainly getting bolder these days. Oh well. Arrogance just makes them make dumb mistakes. Easier to kill that way." |

Sol stopped at the sidewalk before he could cross. Though sleepy, he felt something stir within his mind. Something like the hairs of his back standing up on end. The dulling, soothing lull he was falling into was quickly washed away and he could feel adrenaline surging in its stead. "Something's happening. I can feel it. I- argh!", Sol began to quietly mutter before overwhelmed by a headache. His chest grew hot and vision dimmed as he fell to his knees, clutching his head at the pain as though it were being split in twain. Within his diminishing sight, he could see people garbed in ornate robes and clothing, muttering some kind of incomprehensible chant. Symbols and various hermetic patterns and sigils were appearing before them, some of these rune-like symbols appearing on their arms and faces. The chanting soon became a dull roar in his head until nothing at all could be sensed out, his mind void and vision all but white noise. Sol came to seconds later, or rather, what felt like an eternity. His headache was vanishing and his sight returning as his own. He could tell he was muttering something, but his words were numb to his own ears. Clarity finally returned as he looked around, feeling almost embarrassed at the sight he must have made. "Thank god no one was around to see that...", he thought as he stood back up, dusting his knees off and looking around for anyone who might have seen him. His thoughts returned to the strangeness of the moment he was just in. The decidedly cryptic and unrecognizable change he witnessed. The glowing patterns and symbols. And why he would have experienced this, awakening to find himself muttering something similar to the babble he witnessed in his own mind. |

"The light of the night is shining in my sight~ And the earth glows with beauty every mile~ Looking at the sky soaring with flight~ And the angels reach my hands with a smile~ Oh how much beautiful this world becomes every day?~ Oh how much life does this piece of heaven hold?~ Many endless possibilities one should say~ But it is the very truth itself will only be told...~ La la la la la...~ La la la la la...~ La la la la la... ~" He smiled, hearing a very delicate female voice within his slumber until his alarm clock emitted a loud chime. His eyes opened slowly and smacked the snooze button with his left hand. From his bed, he rose up slightly, sat up, and turned his head to the window on his right, disregarding the popping sound his neck made. It was dark and rainy outside. This man, who is wearing nothing but a black lower pajama with embedded white stripes is Muroi Tenshinchigi, a trivial Kanotoian known throughout Fair Blue for his excellent musical street performances along with his Fiancee. He resides in a relatively large and tall two-story building at the peak of a hill, just a few miles away from downtown. One can clearly tell that whoever bought the house must be rich due to its intricate design and location. "She must be haunting me again... I've been having this same song appear in my dreams for three days now," he sighed, looking at the distant view from his dwelling. "What to do today...?" he muttered, "I can't really go outside and street perform because people don't have time to stand around within the rain-" He paused for a moment and remembered a pastime where he and his Fiancee used to do a special street performance during the rainy weather. "Then again... she and I have been doing this special performance during the rainy days for quite some time now." The man smirked and shook his head, then rose up and got out of his bed, fixing it after. He and his about-to-be wife eloped a year ago, but when the sixth day of came, the latter suddenly disappeared. His very self knew the folly of his thoughts, trying to relive the days where the two of them constantly do activities together, moreover, their non-profit "jobs" (Street Performing, in terms of playing music). Unfortunately, he can never regain them again, or so at least. Efforts were done to find her several months ago, but to no avail. He eventually gave up and moved on, but the loss of his Fiancee lost most of his motivation for a while. Presently, playing music for everyone is the only thing that keeps him alive, to remember the days of joy. But even with that tribute, it is not enough. With that thought, he decided to do something extravagant for this rainy day. It will still be a tribute, but more than that. He walked towards the door, opened it, and proceeded to make himself a sandwich in the kitchen. "She's going to love this song. Love it so much, she will appear right before me," he chuckled, joking with himself. While preparing up the food, he brainstormed for any possible locations to perform during the rainy weather. "Downtown central!" he exclaimed, "I can buy the largest amps somewhere in the city and have a couple of people help with the set up, as well as advertising. It's an unofficial concert and the police will try to tear it down, but the fans never will." "In fact," he thought while eating the sandwich, "With so much supporters, I think there will be enough to call her out." He finished the sandwich, and proceeded to change his clothes, putting on a Kanotoian tribal jacket with a custom hood and a casual Kanotoian pants. That being done, Muroi took his electric guitar and rode the bus to downtown Fair Blue with his plan in mind, hoping for it to succeed once executed. "This game of Hide n' Seek will be over soon, Aika. Just you wait." |

The light was scarce in the room, but managed to light most of its details. There was in the very center of the room, an old, round wooden table littered with several books, both small and big. The three chairs around it appeared to belong to a fancy dining table, though they were dirty for the most part, having lost their lavender seats for beige ones with cocoa stains. The room itself served as living room and kitchen. Only a couple steps away from the table stood the fridge, which was supposed to be white, but now had a half-rusty, half-grayed door that would barely close, despite the little content inside. The sink and counter were spotless, and there was no stove or oven. A lonely door hid on the darkest corner, and lead to a springy old bed with a ripped cover, three thin blankets and one pillow. Next to it, on the floor was a large suitcase filled with women's clothing and a colorful book pack that was zipped up and closed. Getting back to the dim room from before, a young woman sat on a leathery seat that had been accommodated next to the glass window; apparently the only window in the pathetic, lone apartment. Her grayish-blue eyes were wide-opened and attentive as she continued to stare through her rectangle glasses and smudged window, out into the dark rain. Almost as if she were in a trance, the girl pressed her hands against the cold glass, then pushed her forehead against it as well. "I don't see him!" she shouted lamentably. "It's too dark outside!" She stood up and hurried to the front door. Pulling out an umbrella, she reached for the doorknob. "I'll be back soon!" she alerted no one in particular, for she was the only person there. The minute the door parted open, she was greeted with a not-so-gentle shower. Taking shield underneath the umbrella, the girl braved the dark street on her own, walking as if she were preparing to take off running. "He's got to be around here, right?" she asked herself as she kept walking. "I hope he's all right!" --- Gliding peacefully over the clouds that cried over Fair Blue, an angel flew. His wings were easily more than twice as long as his body, but considering he had the body --and to some extent, the mind-- of a child, that was not necessarily something to awe at. He just twirled in the air, taking his time to feel the air swirl all around him gracefully, refreshing his wings. It was a pleasant, smooth ride, unlike having to fly under the rain, though that wasn't dreadful in its entirety either. Water is more refreshing than air, after all, and while soaked wings may be somewhat heavier, splashing in the puddles or diving into a nearby body of water was always fun. Truth, there was the Territorial Covenant, which meant he was not supposed to trespass upon Fair Blue. But something about the city allured him. It wasn't a sort of attraction or fascination for the world of the humans, either. More like an actual longing to the place. Ever since he awoke as an angel a handful of months ago, he had felt the constant, unshakeable urge to be in the city. He could feel something in the depths of his heart trying to grasp at it. His superiors had warned and scolded him several times for this, but he didn't listen. He disliked taking orders, being told what to do, especially when it went against something he wanted so badly. It wasn't as if he could understand, let alone explain, this wild sense of belonging to Fair Blue, but he knew it was there. ((I'll introduce my Youkai later, since I'm not sure how to get her involved just yet.)) |
