Red Brook Academy was where I resided for the last few months. My parents had the money and since my great aunt came to school here and ended up with a ton of money they felt that me going would offer the same benefits. I sighed as I looked down. My stockings were kept clean and white, and my plaid skirt was without a wrinkle. My dark red blazer was also wrinkle free and my red bow around my neck was bright and fiery. I turned my head and noticed and black fox through the window inside the building. He didn't look familiar at all. Was he the new kid everyone was talking about?

It was already lunchtime before I knew it. The cafeteria had the fresh of smell meatloaf and hot buttered rolls for us to eat. The food was always pretty good. That I couldn't complain about. I sat with my friends at our usual table. From what my friends were saying that ebony furred fox I saw was indeed the "new guy". Everyone sure couldn't stop talking about him. I kind of wondered why. "So what is the deal with this new guy?" I asked my friends. "What? You haven't heard?" One of them repiled. I shook my head no. They all glanced at each other for a moment and one of them said, "Their saying he's the reason why Trish isn't here at school anymore." "Really? But how would they know?" I asked again. This guy hadn't been here very long and rumors are already starting about him. I kind of hoped he would be alright, even though I didn't know him.

Like most of the new kids, he sat at a table alone. I just couldn't help but feel really bad for him. "It sucks being the new kid." I said out loud. "Especially if your some weirdo." One of my friends said. "You shouldn't say that." I said to her. "You don't even know the kid. Maybe he's cool. We can't be so quick to judge him." "You heard what everyone's been saying Chrissy. Why would they make it up? I mean, its gotta be true." She said. I just shook my head in disbelief. I didn't think that my friends would believe such silly rumors but they did. I don't know what came over me when I decided to get up to go buy a bag of chips and walked on over to the new kid's table. "Um, hey. Mind if I sit with you?" I asked a bit nervously.

"Nice to meet ya Jay. Im Chrissy but my friends call me Chris." I was very much relieved when he greeted me politely. I thought he would have been a bit stand off-ish. I guess it was all the horrible things everyone was saying. I would truly hate to admit that I was starting to believe all the rumors. I had to really get to know him before I made any judgments though. "So how is your first day at a new school?" I asked him.
