I heard it was being developed by The Taxman about a year ago on SFGHQ, and Sonic Retro confirmed that. In the iPhone demo a long time ago, it looked so sexy. I think it'll improve on SCD. It also seems to have widescreen support!

Well it's been noted on some sites that CD XBLA would have some other things in it, like the JP soundtrack and they have tried getting the US soundtrack in the game too. The CD XBLA version has also both versions of the spin dash in the game. (CD's and Sonic 2's). And along with widescreen and who knows what else, I'd say both are good in their own special ways, but if the newer version ends up with some bigger bonuses I'd say that the new one is better. But to answer the quote, yes, they are probably near identical and it would be inaccurate to judge without actually seeing it all in action. I do have hopes with this new release having some more bonuses going for it. Edited by Sonic 2, Sep 3 2011, 01:26 PM.
