Rejoice Shin Megami Tensei and Persona fans! Atlas has revealed bundles of information, which include an enhanced edition of the original Persona 4 for Playstation Vita, known as Persona 4: The Golden. Oddly, the team behind Blazblue is working on a new Persona 4 themed fighting game as well, which will include some Persona 3 characters as well. Finally, unsurprisingly, the team has confirmed that Persona 5 is indeed in development, likely for the PS3, but says it won't be out for quite a while. Nothing new, and we kinda already figured, but at least it's confirmed finally. Teaser site revealed to be for Persona 4: The Golden, with new additions confirmed and teased. Blazblue team developing Persona 4 fighting game Persona 5 in development, but will not be released for quite some time. While second game baffles yet intrigues me at the same time, I am really excited for these games. I have loved the Persona series, with P4 being one of my favorite games ever(Definitely in top 5) along with P3. P4: The Golden, being on Vita, looks to fix the problems that P3P suffered in its PSP port, and have bundles of new additions coming. Such as a new interesting character, a new opening, a new event, new social links and characters, and probably more(Teasing us that something highly requested will be in the game). Shit, now I might have to save money for Vita too! Persona 5's information is scarce, but the team does say it's hoping to change the genre similar to how Persona 3 revolutionized it. Man, after seeing Catherine's beautiful art style, I can't wait to see how pretty Persona 5 is, as well as see these new additions. Damn. I'm going to be shit poor when this is all over! Dx EDIT: Confirmed that Persona 4 Arena(The games American name) will be heading to shores this summer! Read more of the topic for more details. |

1. Sony's next handheld, to compete with the Nintendo 3DS. 2. Yeah, I feel your pain. I'm a guy starting to focus on college and scholarships here, so I don't have unlimited amounts of money. But you can't keep supporting the same consoles forever I guess. Hopefully it will be worth it though. |

PS3s are dirt cheap now used and decently priced new, it's not that big of a deal. I have seen PS3s going for $150 on Craigslist with the recent price drop. As for Persona 4 on Vita, that's pretty sweet! But I'm more interested in P5 for PS3. |

Funny, I was reading on another site all of this news on the Persona 4 games and Persona 5 a couple of seconds before I noticed this topic. Anyways... @Persona 4: The Golden: I was introduced to the Persona series (And, by extension, the SMT series) by Persona 3 Portable. I loved the game and when I finished it I was considering on buying Persona 3: FES and Persona 4 for the PS2. Although, due to the fact that I bought a ton of other games between last year and early during this year, I never really got any of the two. Now that Persona 4 is confirmed for an Updated Rerelease for the Playstation Vita, I can finally get around to playing this game along with all the new additions Atlus will add for it. Between this game and Blazblue Continuum Shift Extended, I'm definitely getting a Playstation Vita. @Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena: As you can probably tell from the above, I'm a fan of the Blazblue series...which is weird considering I rarely play fighting games outside of the Smash Bros series. Still, the fact that P4:UMA will be handled by the Blazblue team is enough for me to get excited for it. @Persona 5: Well, seeing as how there isn't that much info about it at the moment, I can't really say much other than that I will get it. [/has a PS3] Of course, it's good to hear that Atlus is starting up development for it, but I don't expect a release date until 2013 at best. ![]() Of course, the problem for me now is to try and save up as much money as possible in order to get a PSV. I still haven't even gotten a 3DS yet, and there are tons of other games that I want as well. (Such as Persona 2: Innocent Sin for the PSP) But it'll all hopefully be worth it in the end so... xP |

The trailer for the Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena recently surfaced. It's looking real nice. ^^ I really like they're interpreting the battle mechanics into the fighting game, such as 'One More' and the All Out attack. |

More news about Persona 4: tUiMA: Here are some gameplay videos from Tokyo's Arcade Show. And here's a second trailer. Which is the same as the one in the post above, except with two extra characters added. After watching the gameplay videos, I noticed that the looks and gameplay are very similar to Blazblue, which is pretty awesome. (Then again, it's the only 2D fighter series I've actually played. dX ) Definitely getting this game when it comes out for the PS3 in 2012. *nods* Edited by Renegade Dusk, Sep 19 2011, 02:08 PM.

*casts Recarm on the topic* Uh, yeah. Though I'd I'd bring life into this topic with some more news. Also, I think it's okay to double post as long as the second post contains something relevant to revive the dead topic. <_< >_> Two new characters have been revealed for Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena. Fist up is Teddie, the host of the Tournament in the Midnight Channel: ![]() ![]() And next is Naoto Shirogane, who appears to be a shooting type character if the gun is anything to go by: ![]() ![]() More information on these characters can be found here and here. And with these characters revealed, that leaves just two more characters left to occupy the last two boxes on the character select. I haven't played Persona 4 yet, so I don't have any idea who will fill the last two slots unless ASW decides to use more cameos from previous Persona games. dX |

Let's see... Using my super-tiger vision, it looks like we've got Naoto, Aegis, Yukiko, Brotag (Yuu), Yosuke, Chie, Kanji (GET BENT GET BENT GET BENT) and Teddie so far... Only other P4 character not in there is Rise, who can't fight. So I'm guessing there's two more P3 characters on the way, unless they want to put the P5 protagonist in there... O_O;; Well, my guess is P3 protagonist will show up, along with one other from the SEES. If Akihiko isn't making an appearance, I'm gonna be miffed. He's the most 'professional' fighter out of the entire P3 cast, being a boxer and all. Otherwise, I'm thinking Junpei or Mitsuru. |

I'm not completely sure of the timeline where P4U takes place, but it's obvious Rise is the announcer, since she's popping up in most of the screenshots, just as she does in fights in the game. As for playable characters, they're all already in the game, so it's a possibility that the one of the remaining slots is Adachi, but that's just a wild guess. If anything, they could probably bring in more guest characters such as the P3 MC, since what happened to him at the end of the game is still kind of up in the air. Since Aigis is in the game, it's very possible. |

I thought the Persona 3 protagonist was already confirmed? I could be wrong. And the game is a direct sequel to P4, Ereki, continuing the story two months later actually. I think the P3 protagonist has to be a must, but I could see why he can't be in the story due to what happened to him. But hmm... the only other person I can imagine is someone from SEES, or maybe a new character altogether? They did tease new characters from Persona 4: The Golden. |

...Actually, when you consider the fact that Atlus put Vincent in Persona 3 Portable, which came out about a year or so before Catherine was released, the idea of putting in the MC of Persona 5 (or any character from P5) doesn't sound too strange. Of course, there's always the fact that Persona 5 only just began development and the character design will probably change between now and P5's release. Atlus/ASW only hinted that there may or may not be more characters from P3 showing up in this game. And one of the new characters from P4: The Golden being playable could be possible; similar to the Vincent example above, they could have this character show up in UMA first to promote P4: The Golden and hint at their story. (Assuming that the arcade release of this game comes out before Golden. Vx ) As for other P3 characters: Well, if I'm not mistaken, P4: UMA takes place about two years after the ending of Persona 3. If they include anyone that's not Minato (the MC), they're gonna have to redesign them. (Which is probably why they chose Aigis, being a popular character plus a robot that doesn't age and, therefore, doesn't require a redesign = ideal choice. dX ) That's not to say that it isn't possible for Atlus to redesign them just to include them in the game, but... If they do somehow manage to get Minato in... Well, they're gonna have to explain how Spoiler: click to toggle
