Story of him:He is known as "The Richest Hedgie on any Planet", Ring try to save the world from Mr. Driller, who made his dad to Komobo. When he was 4, Mr. Driller destroyed every thing. Ring was raised by his grandfather, who has a friend or adopted brother name Dinoar. Interview: Interviewer: What is it like with Ring? (Told by Dinoar):As a big brother, I think he is super cool! And I don't care if he is rich! (Told by Aquaprettya):Huh, oh. Ring is the CUTEST THING I EVER SEEN!! He made me fall in love with him at first sight. He shy. NOT! (*Wink*) (Told by Knix):A cocky yet great fighter. His skills a superior and he fights just as good as me. Now let me train. (Told by Minita):A cute, funny, and hot little hedgehog. Wait what huh? What the heck? Huh?! I honestly think that i should rate this character 3/10. Why? Well, here's why! I know your not that old to get the grasp around roleplay characters but i think it's for your future. =3 First of all, he's another example of a hedgehog. We have too many of those in the crowd of Fan Characters. Nothing wrong with that, all can have a hedgehog...but when i heard "hedgehog" from good character makers, those hedgehogs were very unique. The personality? Same as it ever was, same as it ever was~ There are also too many personalities like that. It's always the whole cliche "Caring character making witty jokes when thought of" with new characters. I suggest you expand that to something else, like short-tempered or something. I dunno. His fears, his hated stuff. Then there's the story. Daaw that's so sad, his original residency destroyed. Who the heck is Mr.Driller anyway? Then there's the most facepalm inducing interview (Which isn't needed really.) i've ever seen. Let me list a few examples which just don't fit. No wait, actually the whole interview is wrong. Expect Finoa. It's as if you made a show called "Everyone loves Ring the Hedgehog". I mean sheesh, that's just not right at all. I mean- OH GOD I LOVE RING THE HEDGEHOG SO MUCH I WANT TO HAVE HAVE CHILDS WITH HIM. I think you get my point, don't you? And his look..he just looks like Super Sonic, just more squiggly. More original designs please. And that's all. Hope you improve all that. =3 |

That was a bit harsh Mikon, but I wont say its not true. I would recommend adding more to his image to make him less like Super Sonic, you wouldn't need to change the whole thing, just enough to make them easy to differentiate. There's nothing wrong with making stereotypical character if your not experienced in creating characters, but later it would be nice to see a creation that's a bit more unique. |

Just so you know, it's really rare for someone to have a "very original" character nowdays. Most of the "Good" characters today are actually based on someone or some concept, but what makes them stand out from the rest at least is their backstory. For example, did you know Goku influenced Naruto? A character based on another character right? But was Naruto's backstory different and interesting for the masses? Absolutely. That is what makes a character different from the one who he/she is based out of. I'm not trying to defend the topic starter here, but I'm just trying to make a note for those who try to harshly convince someone to create a one-of-a-kind character to tone the blind criticism down a bit. A Sonic the hedgehog-based character who has a different, but very interesting backstory is better than that who has the same. |

I apologise to OP if what I said came off harsh. I was just trying to give some constructive criticism, I realize that a character doesn't have to be completely original to be good but their is a line at how similar a character can be to what/who its based off. In my opinion Ring the hedgehog seems a bit too similar to Sonic the hedgehog. |

^ True but throwing in a few horrible taunting commentaries here and there is not necessary. For all we know it, the topic starter might be inexperienced when it comes into making original characters so no need to put something extra within a "constructive criticism". It will only hurt that man's pride and self-esteem.

Honestly, i tried my best to not be that harsh, and just point out the facts. But you should know well, we all want new roleplayers to evolve into awesome roleplayers with the best character designs and odd yet influencing personalities with awfully long posts to enjoy reading. Suckles should learn towards that goal as well. I once was on his level too, making characters based mostly off hedgehogs, echidnas and two-tailed kitsunes who got as much praise as they wanted by a one snap of the finger. Trough criticism, i learned what i've done wrong, and Suckles should too. =3 And a note, his story isn't original. You won't believe how much how do you say... Yeah, it is a huge stereotype for a main character's parents to be dead or to have abandoned said character, or for some reason the parents aren't around. So when you just getting started it's completely understandable to have character like that, but as Mikon's said in the future more variety would be nice |

What he is saying is true, but again, there is no need to rudely add extra sarcastic comments such as
That isn't criticism, but more of an attack. You need to add more logic, not emotions into your statements. You could have just said "The interview part isn't really needed, since it doesn't show any vital info for your character. It's more of an extra, rather than a main dish. But hey, whatever floats your boat." Encourage, not attack. You know what I mean? |

I actually have a character that is like that. Parents being dead and all. It may be cliche but if done correctly can work in your favor.

Yeah, it totally could! And I'm sure all the role players here probably have one like that! I don't have one yet but that's because I've only done one RP and only have one character

Alright alright, i'll be sure to keep that into the future. I'm just like that. =w= Well yes, that Can be done. But all what i see in Ring is well..that his parents got killed. That's it, no information how were they killed, just claiming 'every thing'. Not to mention i have no clue who is Mr.Driller or whatever his name was. It's nice to add a bit more detail. |
