Super Mario Galaxy!

This game was stunning. Nintendo made this feel like you were flying through the cosmos, spinning in circles, and saving the galaxy. What do I have to say about it... well, let's see!

Story
This is mostly the same as most other Mario games. Princess Peach invites Mario to the castle for a festival about a rare event, which makes it rain small crystals named Star Bits. Toad Town is in full swing with this event, the town hustling and bustling like crazy. Mario is traveling through the town, when suddenly, the whole city notices wooden flying airships approaching the town. It's none other than the Koopa King, Bowser, and his troops. The town is attacked, and the citizens are in pure terror! Mario rushes to Peach's Castle, where the Princess and two mushroom retainers are staring in awe and horror. Bowser exclaims that he will end this festival as abruptly as it began.

Suddenly, the castle is lifted from the ground up, and Mario is being carried along for the ride. Mario thinks fast and acts quickly, but is stopped by Bowser's right-hand magikoopa, Kamek. Then, Mario is sent across the universe!

The plumber wakes up to the sight of a white and golden bunny. He offers to tell Mario where he is if he catches up to him. Mario goes after the rabbit, then learns that he was in a whole other galaxy! Mario is determined to get home, and save the Princess, so the bunny points him to a tower-like area. Mario climbs it, and is faced with a tall woman. Rosalina, the watcher of the cosmos. She explains her ship, the Comet Observatory, has lost it's power, and only the energy of the grand stars will revive it.

Mario, a new Luma partner in hat, sets off on an adventure that will be heard across the universe!

Fantastic storyline.

Graphics
Super Mario Galaxy's graphics were absolutely BEAUTIFUL. Better than Twilight Princess in my opinion. Nintendo made the vast darkness of space phenomenally. This and it's sequel, Mario Galaxy 2, easily have the best graphics in a Mario game to this date.

Controls
The controls were top-notch. As I said in the overview, it really made you feel as if you were flying through space. (SPAAAAAAACE!, Yes I haven't dropped that.) You used the combination of the Wii Remote and the Nunchuck.

Control Stick: Move Mario around.
A Button: Jump.
B: When pointing at the screen, shoot star bits.
C: Position Camera behind Mario.
Z: Crouch
Swing Wiimote or Nunchuck: Spin, Mario's main attack in this game. Can be used as a double jump.
D-Pad: Up to Zoom In, Down to Zoom Out, Left and Right to the camera.

Tight control.

Sound
Orchestrated.
Epic.
Beautiful.
That is all.

Gameplay
The most important part of every game. And this is no exception. Nor was is a failure. The only thing to improve on here is to slide less when stopping, and the normal swimming, without a shell, could've been improved on.

Nontheless, gameplay.

Final Thoughts and Score
Super Mario Galaxy was one of Mario's-- No, Nintendo's best creations. The beautiful feel of it, it's enchanting music, and top-notch gameplay, Mario Galaxy places an easy number 3 favorite Mario game, and 2nd favorite Wii game, Super Mario Galaxy gets the final score of

9.5 out of 10!
Mario Galaxy is amazing. The Wii had just come out a year earlier, and this was one of its first. And it was one of it's greatest to this day. Even better than Mario Galaxy 2 in my opinion, sorry, but it is.

Next review will be Sonic Heroes.
