The third & final installment to Christopher Nolan's Batman saga, The Dark Knight Rises, will be hitting theaters next summer. It will have the same cast as previous films (Christian Bale as Batman, Micheal Caine as Alfred) and also introducing new characters (Tom Hardy as Bane, and Anne Hatheway as Catwoman.) I cannot wait to see how this ends. Nolan is probably my favorite director out there right now (Aside from Batman films, he has done The Prestige & Inception, both films I absolutely love.)

The teaser recently leaked (bootleg quality), I think it's a great teaser, much better than the one for The Dark Knight.

Here's a new-ish picture of Bane that released.

The character Bane is most remembered in the comics for breaking Batman's back. I don't know if Nolan will put that into the film, some are saying Batman might die, but I do not want to see that. That will make me sad. :(

Link to Teaser.

Cool. :o

I wasn't able to watch much of the first of Nolan's Batman films, but I don't remember it catching my attention much. The second one, however, was utterly epic. By far one of my favorite movies of all times. <3 (It's only too much of a tragedy what happened to Ledger... the film proved he was brilliant.)

I hope this one does its predecessor a lot of justice. I'd totally go to watch on opening night even. ^.^

I'm the opposite of Mira, actually. I watched the very first film and loved it, but I never got around to finishing the second on account of how long it was. I think I got halfway through it and had to stop because there was something else I had to do, and then I just never finished it. ^^;

But this will probably make me consider watching it to completion this time. I'm sure my brother will probably look forward to this though.

.... wat?
It's not like you're playing a video game. Hurry up and watch it. D:< It ruins the experience if you just stop watching and then resume at a later time.

As for me and the first two, loved them both, with the Dark Knight being one of my favorite movies of all time.

But WHAT? BANE? CATWOMAN? Eeeehhhh.... not sure how I feel about this, seeing these are the villians representing the last Batman film(Of this trilogy). I never thought they were that great of villians(I can only see Catwoman being more annoying then serious with her love for Batman). I was hoping something like the Riddler.

Of course, Nolan does a great job, and Bale seems like the best Batman yet, so hopefully this will ease my doubts about the movie. But seeing Catwoman in the movie just makes me think this will not be as good as the Dark Knight.

I was hoping something like the Riddler.
I kind of expected this since a friend of mine had told me that he had heard a rumor of Johnny Depp appearing in the third installment as the Riddler.

So far, I hadn't heard anything about Depp having anything planned with Nolan, but I had figured the role had maybe been given to someone else or something.

I'll make do with Bane, though. Bane was a villain to consider, IMO. And if we could cast a Phoenix Down on Ledger, I would love more than most anything in the world to see the Joker cameo. <3

I actually enjoy Batman Begins as a film more than The Dark Knight. I've watched BB quite a few times, and it's probably my favorite Comic Book Movie yet. The Dark Knight is epic, I saw it at the midnight showing, probably the best cinema experience I've ever had. But I love the story of BB more than TDK. Both are very different films. Batman Begins feels like an epic adventure, where as The Dark Knight is a serious crime-drama. Both are amazing films.

I expect this one to be the longest out of them all. This is the final film in the trilogy. I expect Nolan to go out with as wanting more. :D Can't wait for the new Superman flick as well.

Just wondering, and I may be late on this, but how is the Joker going to be explained and all, with Ledger dead? I mean, the Joker is still alive, right?

I had been wondering about that, but seeing as the main baddies from the first film didn't appear in the second film, it's possible they probably won't need an explanation for the Joker not appearing in the last film, though they may go on with some story of how the Joker did this or that in an attempt to escape, which resulted in his death... I dunno.

Actually, Scarecrow appears in the beginning of The Dark Knight, and he was pretty much the main villain in Batman Begins. You might get a Joker reference of him being locked up in Arkham Asylum, but that's about it. If Ledger was still alive, he might would have had a role in this film, but who knows with Nolan. Some people thought they might recast Joker, but I don't think that'll happen.

I was wondering about how they'd explain the Joker when I first read the new main villan. Does anyone else think it's possible they'll have the Joker working along side the new villan (which I doubt, but it's possible)? If they don't have him doing that, I'm thinking they'll have him in Arkham Asylum. I doubt they'll overlook the fact that Joker is still alive and not explain what happened to him.

Am I really the only one who sees Anne Hathaway as not particularly fitting for this role?! I love Hathaway, shes briliant, and gorgeous, but as Catwoman? Ehhh.... I don weally know about dat one just yet.

I've seen some manips of her in the catwoman suit, it looks like Catwoman to me. As far as acting, I don't know. I haven't seen her in many movies.

Here's the official teaser, folks!
