Sandopolis Act 1
Has potential, but REALLY REALLY work on volume control. The background music in all of them was too loud. The Brinstar and Airman Gameboy especially. The Airman GB was off-pitch in the background and off by a few beats, which again would have lots of potential if it was quieter. Cold Man Remix was pretty good! But then in Cossack's Remix the background music blurted out the source. Also, I was hearing some static buzzes for some reason between some notes on that track. Not to mention the sounds used in that background track reach their peak halfway through the notes, so even though it was composed right, the sounds messed up. They sound like the crystal midi instrument. Cutman's track had some weird slurring at the beginning, needs more staccato. The mood change around 28 seconds made it have more emotion, which brings me to my next point. Some of your remixes lack emotion and feel like you just replaced instruments. Try playing a song slowly or in a different key to see just how it works and add more meaning to it. Doomsday Zone has some weird shaking thing in it. About 35 seconds into Dustman you added a little sound that played along in a different key. (If you haven't noticed by now, I HAVE forgotten almost all musical terms in my current derp moment) The techno remix of Dynamo Man is very well done. Don't know if your style works well with it or if it's a good song, but that's a good example. (I'm also recording my thoughts about each individual song as I listen. You have a lot, so I don't really have a coherent format for this.)

WHOA WHAT THE HECK did you do to ending theme of MM3 GB? You sped through it and your drums were not on time with the main track. Faceball 2000 remix was good. The background track converged with the main. I liked the bells in Frost Man, they were sad, but I couldn't tell where you were going in the beginning. Good staccato and was well done there too. Grav..y Man was good and had great instruments. What happened with Guts Man? he valume fluctuates like I don't even. Lavender Town was good, but just because it's a good song. You did'nt mess it up, and the voices weren't misused. The alarms in MM9 Final Boss were superB in terms of volume. Plant Man's was pretty soulless, and I can't forgive you for not remixing the song better. Quickman's Techno Remix was good in terms of staccato, and switching out and into it. The bouncy sounds in Saturn Techno got annoying after a while, but replaced the drums. Not really sure about it... The way you placed the high sounds gave Sword Man's remix a very broad feel and it felt like the beats really 'swung'. It felt fluent, like someone was speaking. You really helped improve on the 'Final' feeling of Wily Stage 3 GB. I liked the ambient Oohs and Aahs (Aahs gives a spell-check error but Oohs doesn't? What?) in the Orchestral remix of the non-GB version. Wily's Castle 5 was good and sad feeling even if it was energetic.

You've been on the forum long enough to know this is just critique and not insult. I can only play, so some things may pass over my head, but I don't know a lot of people on this forum willing to criticize remixes.
