Trying to go with a theme this time
I keep freezing up, eventually followed by me getting a BSOD everytime time someone fires besides me. Thats when I turned down all the settings besides one which I had no idea what it was. I eventually switched that one option I don't remember the name of to "Bilinear" and then all the walls and scenery turned into black, white, red, blue and green codes and the game instantly froze.

Help plz.

You know help is on the way, Alright. First off, before I can help you. What do you currently have in your system. What graphics card are you using? How much RAM do you have going in your computer? Those kind of things. Then I can take it a step further and actually help.

if you haven't played TF2 yet you really have no reason (aside from a dislike of class based FPS games or something) not to give it a go now.
I got the game and Steam today since a pal essentially bugged me back onto Steam.. which brings up a pretty good reason to not give it a go.

Steam.

I already have a beef with them since they VPN banned my old account back in like 06 since like 10 people reported me for hacking on CS:S after I was having some good games, I never hacked but was VPN banned permanently.. that means I still am today.

So after going through the glitchy as hell process (I had to refresh the page 3 times before the site could authenticate a name for me AND then recaptcha about 400million times before it actually accepted me) of setting up an account, I download TF2 overnight. Awesome news.. you can't have friends on your account unless you have a game tied to your steam account, and by game I mean a game you paid for. TF2 will not unlock the friend/community features on Steam, and I can't find my old CS:S premium pack to try and use that.. nor would I risk it because they could try to re VPN ban my account because of it being the same game.

Steam continues to be a hindrance on modern gaming, a sloppy makeshift service that I will probably resist for forever.

It's the primary reason why I basically up and quit PC gaming all together, at least Xbox Live has never screwed me over. Steam was, is, and probably forever will be the one good reason to never try out a game like TF2 on the PC.

Honestly I feel a bit Ripped-off because i was one of the people that bought it a few months before it went free to play and i feel defenally cheated but Valve didnt even give people who bought the game before the update cool stuff for doing so unlike the 3Ds where Nintendo is giving people who bought the 3Ds before the huge price drop 100$ in free games.

Did they get a hat or something? Still not proper compensation of course, but at least it's something.

Yeah, we all got the 'Proof of Purchase'. Not the best hat but it's still a good one.

Besides, the free version isn't the premium one anyway. 'Course it upgrades when you buy something from the Mann Co. Store, but that means you've got to spend at least 5 bucks to get it. Until then you can't trade items and whatnot. *shrug*

Well it depends on how long you've had the game for, I guess. I had it for about a year before it went free. 20 bucks was worth playing it for that year. xD
