Night's eyes went wide as he got slammed into the wall. "hey, back off! I was just visiting, that's all." he gently tried to push him off. Vina walked over to Dash. "would you leave him alone?! he was just checking how Claire was doing, that's it." she put her hands on her hips. |

"Now stay away from her, far away you fethered freaks." He added. Dash walked back into the room and closed the door. "I don't think you'll need to worry about them" he told her. |

Night frowned. "what was his problem? eh, no matter. let's go, Vina." he walked down the hall the other way and went towards the entrance. "I wouldn't... be so... sure, Dash..." Claire's face was still twisted with pain from trying to sit up. trying to sit up wasn't a very good move, and now she was hurting more than ever. "they have... very... thick heads... it's hard to..." she coughed, but kept going, "get... things through... their heads..." Claire coughed harder a few times, then added, "I'm.. going to take... a nap..." she immedietely closed her eyes right then and there, and fell asleep. Pepper snuggled next to her, keeping her warm. |

Claire snuggled under the covers, holding Pepper in her hands on her stomach. Meanwhile, Night and Vina had walked back to their hideout. "well, looks like she's coming along well, right?" Vina asked, looking at Night, who's eyes had glazed over with thought. "huh, what? oh. yeah. the problem is that hedgehog. if I know him well enough, he's going to protect Claire with his life. and that's a huge problem." he got out a red pen and his idea book, and started scribbling out plans, all ending in dead ends. "humph." Vina looked at Night, who had put on a thinking face, his brow forrowed and his back hunched over the book. "maybe... you need to take a break. we have a month. you should be okay if you take a break for a day or two." "No. But I need you to do something for me. can you search his thoughts and find out what his next plan is? what he might do if we try to attack when Claire heals?" he didn't even look up from scribbling on his pad. "Sure." she closed her eyes, then put her mind into Dash's. she was spying on his thoughts! |

Dash's thoughts were like anyones worst nightmare. All he was thinking about right now was his nightmares and his childhood. Vina witnessed his hometown being raided, his parents being killed, and him living by himself with no one that knew he even existed. These were his thoughts on a daily basis when nothing else had to be thought about. |

Vina opened her eyes. "Ick. that's gotta be like hell for him." Night looked up from his pad. "What?" "he doesn't have any family. just his friends." "oh. that's nice." Night looked back down at his pad. Vina didn't want to fight with him, but that was just plain too much. "excuse me? he doesn't have any family, you idiot! how would-" she stopped when he looked up from his pad, his face red again. "why would I care, Vina?!" Vina flinched at Night's outburst. "I'm planning to get rid of him! so just leave me alone! go get some more soda, or something." he looked back at his pad. "hmm... no that wouldn't work... no... hey, maybe-" Night scribbled some more things down. "humph... but what would we distract him with?" he thought out loud. he looked up at Vina. "where's your bomb pouch?" Vina pointed to her bomb pouch, which was hanging at the side of her jeans. "perfect..." Night chuckled. "You, Vina, will distract him with your bombs, you can pick which one, just make it have a big explosion. I'll snag Claire, and, while he's distracted, you can run off to the hideout base, me following with Claire in a bag. Perfect!" Vina blinked. "but, wouldn't Claire go with him?" she asked. "no, because she would still be healing. most likely he is going to make Claire stay where she is, so she doesn't get hurt all over again. it sounds great, doesn't it? wait, I already know the answer to that. it IS great!!!!" (if it's okay, I'm going to pass the time in the next post.) |

three weeks later, Claire was doing much better. she could walk for short periods of time, but she couldn't fly yet. whenever the wind picked up, she got anxious. "oh, I so want to fly! why can't I fly?!" she asked Dash one day when they were taking a short walk. even though he had explained about five hundred times before, she couldn't seem to get it through her head. it was part of her genes and DNA to fly, so when she couldn't, she got anxious very easily. |

Claire huffed, "I guess you're right." she started heading back to the hospital. Vina and Night were back at the hideout. they thought that Claire wasn't of much value until she could fly. |
