Yeah, I don't count that at backwards capability.
Me nither, I was just stating that as a reason why they wouldn't have backwards capability.

In response to Dubbmattic, I think the reason why people aren't ready for a new system is because the current systems released at such a high price and are still pretty pricey for the common person in this recession. It took quite some time for the prices to come down too.

The 360 launched at $400 and the PS3 was $600. The PS3 is STILL at the launch price of the PS2. Once it drops another $100 is when it really takes off if history has anything to say about it as the PS2 didn't take off until it was $199.

@Metallix: Yes, that could also attribute to why most are feeling this new release announcement is too soon, but yet there are so many at present day who have a PS3 that I believe the market is already on the path of taking off. Sure, it's not as cheap as the PS2 was when it really took off, but there's more to weigh in than just that. For example, the amount of money we have present day has climbed a bit, it's all inflation really. So the gap may be even less than it seems if you take that into account. But yeah, you prove a good point though, that a system doesn't see it's true boom in the market until the price hits a certian low point. Though also, it's hard to say for sure any more the reasons for anything, because gaming as we know it has evolved a few steps since the PS2 days lol.

Actually, I KNOW the PS3 was 700 USD at launch for one model, and I think the 360 was 500 for one of the models. Not completely sure, but I KNEW about the PS3 part.

This seems interesting, considering how out of the three consoles, Sony sold the least. It comes to questions if Sony itself is ready to release a new console. We're just now getting used to 3D and Motion Gaming. I can only say that I hope everyone is ready when Sony debuts their launch date.

We all make choices. But in the end, our choices make us
Dude, I haven't even bought my PS3 yet. :\ Am I always gonna be behind? And really I don't care if its had a long run, it was outrageously expensive in the beginning. Im guessing if they do come out with this PS4 or whatever its gonna be like 800 bucks. :P Im speaking sarcastically, I think....

Don't worry, my 360 is the only Next-Gen console I have, and I've only had it for four months.

Essentially, I'm waiting just so the price on a PS3 will drop.

Then I will be happy.
