Christmas is back again

Hmm... Think.
I bet Battlefield will be this year's military shooter no doubt. It's like Modern Warfare 3 is more of the underdog, considering it's a new team in control.
But I ain't much of them shooters, even if I'd always like the look of them.
Excellent graphics, and authentic stories usually combines the two.
Working on banner, but if your looking to have some time off. Come, visit my channel on youtube.

What is the difference between a duck?

Battlefield.. no matter how much better it can make itself.. will always fall to CoD's name recognition.. Black Ops was a very sub par release considering the changes or lack of changes they made from MW2 to it... It's still an alright game to play but it didn't feel worth $66.

And as for leaked info.. I bet this is all a marketing ploy, companies purposely "leak" info to the public because when information is leaked as opposed to being straight up released, there is a little more shock factor to it and it draws attention.. people usually expect to see more info than they actually get to in these "leaks" also. =P

welp. Looks like another day where tons of people are going to skip school. :V

Call of Duty never really interested me but I loved playing the zombie game on black-ops and WaW with friends where we always played almost all night. Heh, so my friends will probably go off and get this, seeing it has a similar mode(Which kinda hope it's zombie related too. XD).

Yeah? After gamers getting burnt by two COD games I don't see it lasting much longer. Unless MW3 has an entirely different engine it's going to be exactly the same... Different crappy 2 hour story, different settings, same everything else. It'll still be massively popular but it's a dying brand much similar to how Tony Hawk ruled everything but eventually fell due to many yearly subpar games. L.A.M.E.

Every popular series comes to an end or a fall in popularity. Socom U.S. Navy Seals used to be the most popular shooter on consoles with more players than all of Xbox Live and look where it is now. It still has a solid fanbase but that pales in comparison to COD or Battlefield. Unreal Tournament used to be like the mega franchise in the FPS genre but now it's pretty much barely talked about.

You know guys, if so many of you aren't going to get the game because you think it's going to suck or you plan to get something else, why are you in this topic? Why don't you hang out in the topics of games you plan to buy? Ever hear of Complaining About Shows You Don't Watch?

With that out of the way, I'll give my take.

I'm extremely glad a friend introduced me to Modern Warfare 2 last year. I'm a big fan of games that allow for deep customization of your character, and MW2 had that in spades for its multiplayer mode. Weapons, attachments, perks, equipments, killstreaks... I loved to experiment constantly with all the different setups, and getting to see this in a first person shooter made it all the more interesting.

I honestly don't mind that Black Ops isn't too different from MW2 either. In terms of core gameplay, I think COD is great the way it is and doesn't need to change. Granted, MW2 did have balance issues, but Black Ops did a marvelous job towards correcting those problems. Almost every tactic, piece of equipment, gun, perk, etc. has a counter, which always keeps the game interesting and encourages a lot of different setups and playstyles. If they toned down the Ghost perk, the Famas, the AUG, and the AK74u it'd be almost perfect.

Seriously, if Black Ops had been the only new game I bought this year, I think it would have been enough for me. I'm amazed I'm halfway through fourth prestige now and still not tired of playing this game and experimenting with different setups.

However, I will say I liked the modern day setting more in MW2, and I'm really glad we get to head back there with MW3. I'm looking forward to seeing what kinds of new tools of war we get to play around with. Black Ops also got really close to balancing the game well, so maybe they'll get even closer to perfection this time around.

I'm also looking forward to see what happens next in MW's plot too. Black Ops' single player I honestly didn't give a crap about, but I legitimately want to see how the story continues in MW3. I'm very curious to find out how Germany and France get dragged into the brewing conflict between Russia and the United States. Seeing Washington D.C. as a warzone was awesome (if rather over the top) in MW2, and it'd be great to see that again in other national capitals. I've personally studied abroad in London and England, so I especially would like to see a level set in London.

Nail I don't hate Black Ops I'm saying I want more of a jump in the next game because Black Ops was just MW2 with a new name and Zombies.. there was minimalminimalminimal change beyond that. And the Zombie mode is really only meh..

There are people who aren't optimistic about a game who will comment on it, my advice is to not throw out the "why are you in this topic" blind complaint angle.. it is silly and makes it seem like you don't like things you like being criticized.

Purple, I'm more amused than upset, hence the TV Tropes reference. I just have to wonder why you'd wanna waste your time in a topic on a game in a series you don't like and don't plan to invest in. I used to do this too, but realized it really wasn't making anyone happy, including myself. So I quit, and I encourage the rest of you to do it as well. You'll be a lot happier.

Especially don't come into a topic and just say you're going to get another game. That borders on being spam and contributes nothing to the topic.

Also, I'm one of the few people here who's given an actual reaction and thoughts on the trailers, which is why this topic's here in the first place. That disappoints me. I'd really like it if someone else would come in here who actually wants to discuss his/her thoughts on MW3. You'd think there would be more MW3 discussion in a MW3 topic.

So come on, if you're out there and actually interested in MW3, please come into this topic and talk to me.

Taking time to talk about a game whether you like it or dislike it is wasting your time regardless your stance on the game.

I was just giving my opinion that it was just going to be more of the same and it wasn't exactly a shining gem, imo. COD4 or MW1, whichever you prefer to call it, was the best imo. MW2 was very watered down compared to the first one and it lost many good features. Black Ops was just MW2 in a different setting with tacked on features that were an improvement but still nothing significant and on an old engine that imo is just run of the mill it doesn't really bode well with me.

There's a good chance I'll get it but only so when some buddies come over they can play it since that's what most gamers will likely be drooling over at the time. As far as people talking about it I hate to say it but unless it's Nintendo, here, it isn't going to get much discussion.

I agree mostly with the above post, mw1 was an excellent game that really shaped the modern shooter. Mw2 I think stepped it up in the online mode and made it even more addictive, I found it hard to put the game down for over a year. The level of customization was incredible, from classes to killstreaks and camos for guns. Unfortunately I found the campaign was a big step down from mw1.

When it comes to World at War and Black Ops, I was a little disappointed. It seems both games largely copy mw1 and mw2 respectively. Like Treyarch is scared of making a game uniquely their own. One thing I loved about their two games was the Zombie modes. Another thing is CoD needs to lower the prices of their map packs. I used to get some of the map packs before they jacked them up to 1200 points. $15 just seems like too much for 3 new maps and 2 remade ones in the case of mw2
