Strange, isn't it?
 Force did not respond vocally to the robot latching onto his arm. He noticed that it was draining something from him--most likely his fading electromagnetic charge. Attempting something that he would have thought odd under different circumstances, he sent all of his remaining energy at the leader at full force. Hopefully trying to absorb so much electricity at once would cause a malfunction in the robot somewhere. There was only so much energy that could travel through a circuit at once without an overload. Besides, he noticed the object on the sword's hilt glowing when it abosrbed his first energy bolt. Hopefully the robot's absorption abilities would be impaired without it.

 (Homestuck done, actually doing stuff again.)

@Aaron: The elevator is about half way down the wall. "So are there different types of these Chao, of are all of them labeled as 'Hero'?" The elevator reaches the bottom and the robot pulls a lever opening a gate leading to the city.

@742: The robot takes all of the electricity in, and about half of it sparks out of its back and is absorbed by the bot behind him. "Overload protection is working almost perfectly. You did manage to overload the collector in my left hand. Now that the electricity is gone, we can focus on the energy Eggman actually wants, yours." You again feel the robot pulling your energy away from you, but it is trying to take your life.

@Segalove: You pull back and the door crashes down. The hand let go, but now you see what was grabbing you. First is a human zombie, this. Second, is a zombie hedgehog with no legs. The start crawling towards you.

@Epic: (How was you not being here?) You may not have to, as the things that just came out of the doorway seem malicious enough. They start crawling towards Big.

 Overload protection? Force thought. These must be some seriously advanced robots. Now he was getting very worried, especially with the life-draining device the robot had. With no charge and no protection, Force did the only thing he could possibly think of: he ran over, picked up the sword the lead robot had dropped, and swung it at the robot's head.

Aaron petted the little chao. "Actually, not all of them are 'hero' chao. It changes depending on how their owner raises them. And yes, there are three different types of chao; neutral, hero and dark." As the gate opened, Aaron and the robot headed into the city.

 @742: The robot attempts to dodge the blade bot fails and the sword lodges halfway through its head and gets stuck. The life draining stops, but the bot does not stop functioning. The gem on the sword begins to get brighter. The bot speaks. "I was programmed without fear, and because of that I, as well as the rest of us, was labeled "Semi-sentient". I suppose one can learn fear, and, right now, I am afraid, for my life, if you would call it that. I fear that there is nothing once I am gone. Hope, I just learned that too. I certainly do hope that there is something once I'm gone." The gem becomes pure white and makes all other lights in the room seem dim. A spark leaps across the edge of the sword and the robot collapses on the floor.

@Aaron: "Very interesting. Perhaps, sometime, I could get a photograph to put in our records." As you walk you receive various surprised looks from other bots. You eventually reach one of the tall buildings. "Well, this building can be a sort of safe house for you. There is some food that we found and stashed away in case it was needed, and I suppose you may need it. You can leave the city at any time. If you want to come back in, tell the guard the word 'probate'. Let me show you in." Kraktal (Totally forgot that was the bots name.) grabs the door handle, the instant he does this an alarm goes off. Most of the bots on the "street" run indoors, the rest pull out weapons and run off. Kraktal pulls out some sort of radio device. "They're doing what?! All right, I'll be over there in a couple of minutes." It puts away the radio. "You can go in if you want, just tell someone that you're with me. I have a battle to fight in." He begins to walk off and you hear him mutter "Nobody's getting an alliance now."

 So it was "semi-sentient"? Force thought. Well, if it was only partially sentient, then I guess that makes it no more self-aware than an animal. And we don't hesitate to kill non-anthropomorphic animals for food, do we? Hmm... The ethical issues of fighting robots are more complex than the other heroes appreciate. But I don't have time for that right now. Force looked over at the other robots, still very much alive and most likely intending to avenge their leader's deactivation. He yanked the sword out of the lead robot's head and raised it. "Do you want that to happen to you as well?" Force asked rhetorically. Hopefully they too would learn fear at the sight of the sword that destroyed their leader. "If not, then I suggest you let me pass."

Aaron followed Kraktal into the safe house. other robots were going about their business. He then heard that Kraktal was going to fight. "Isn't there anything i can do?" Aaron asked.

@742: All the robots speak at the same time. "Kill our leader, another stands. Not all will fall by your hands." One of the bots from the back of the group walks forward. "If you want to go through here, you will have to kill each and every one of us." He draws his sword and rushes at you.

@Aaron: Kraktal turns to you. "Unless you want to fight in a battle with a bunch of old robots, none of which have any visual markings to identify their side, then no, I don't think there is." It turns back around and begins walking away again. After he leaves you hear a voice behind you. "Hey, human."

 Rather fearless, aren't they? Force thought. Well, I hate to go all SATBK on them, but it looks like I have no choice. Before the battle, though... Force attempted to absorb the power within the gem of the sword he was holding, if it had any left. Hopefully obtaning a charge would help keep him alive.

@742: You begin to absorb the energy in the crystal. There are massive amounts of it, all of it somehow concentrated in this small gemstone. The leader bot leaps into the air and goes to slash at you from above.

@Aaron: You see a old decrepit bot hiding in the shadow of a corner. "They aren't who they say they are. They want you dead. Follow me." He turns and disappears into the shadow.

 Wow. This gemstone holds incredible energy, Force thought. Could it be a... His thought was cut short by one of the robots hurling himself into the air at Force and slashing downward. Instincitvely, Force swung his own weapon upwards, hoping to block the strike. He wasn't exactly an expert with a sword, and he would proably be knocked backwards from the force of the impact, but he probably wouldn't get injured badly. While swinging, Force activated the energy he had absorbed before it was lost. The enormous amount of power he was now using would last him a good four or five minutes, an unusually long time for him. What color are my markings? he wondered. Hopefully I'll have time to glance at my arm in the middle of the approaching all-out battle. One of the annoying things about his ability was that if he absorbed something from an object whose energy type was unknown to him, he wouldn't know what he absorbed automatically and would have to spend precious time checking his own quills for color.

OOC: (Sorry it took me so long to reply, I've been a bit busy with school and whatnot.)
