I just knew it wasn't going to instantly come back up quickly.. the Govt had to investigate e.t.c. e.t.c. and all of those factors led to the delay of reinstating the service while Sony fixed their problems and dealt with a few of the world governments looking over their performance.

The actual part that we as users can notice (it actually resuming) always is instant because it's essentially the last step.. all of the reconfiguring, investigations, planning, execution of plans e.t.c. took quite awhile. And I'll probably nab up inFamous and Wipeout.. not that I will play either a ton. xD

Not to point the obvious, but pretty much any company that holds CC info. Major banks have already been breached in a large scale before. Recently Square Enix Montreal got hacked Twice! Instead, the PSN will be under going maintenance from 11am-8pm Eastern (approximately). Sony reports that users may experience trouble logging in, but that the network is not down. Use of all currently enabled PSN services should be functional throughout the maintenance period. Yesterday, Sony announced through Playstation Blog that the PSP will be getting its restorative system update (v.6.39) �soon�. Sony gave no better indication of when the update will be released. The deadline for full PSN restoration is still May 31, so expect the update to come within the next seven days. Source So yeah we get to wait a while longer before it comes back up again.

But we have an update guys. Apparently the Welcome Back Package is available. Check here for details. I can't seem to download via browser so I'll have to wait for mine when I finally get to a WiFi Hotspot to download them to my PSP. (Or when we get our shiny new internet ala Cox in a week) And apparently if you own both systems you can get two for the PS3 AND two for the PSP. So have at that guys.
