THE GAME

Gameplay: Sonic Generations aims to celebrate the franchise's 20th anniversary by taking the player across three major eras of its history: MegaDrive, Dreamcast, and Modern; level locations will be taken from various games throughout this timeline, and different locations will be present on the console and handheld versions. Both Modern Sonic and Classic Sonic will be playable in the same stages, each with their familiar repertoires and attitudes. Specifically, Classic Sonic will play primarily on a 2D plane and be armed with the Spin Dash and Spin Attack; Modern Sonic will retain his Unleashed move set and play in stages that automatically switch between a 2D and 3D perspective and level of control. Characters such as Tails, Knuckles, and Shadow will also be making appearances. 1

The 3DS version will differ in a few key ways. First, all levels sans Green Hill will be different. 2-player competitive mode will also be available for status points, and the game will also feature Street Pass.

Huh. Well I guess Facebook is reliable in this case. If this is the 20th anniversary game, let's hope it's something worthwhile, not a rehash of a past game.

Ahh, spring~
 I hope this is for Sonic Generations, but we have to remember that a trailer does not necessarily mean a game reveal. It could be a trailer for a movie, or TV show, event, or even an anniversary overview trailer like Nintendo pulled with Mario.

I still can't use this.

 It's hard to speculate beyond this being a trailer for either the anniversary game, Episode 2, or simply something else. Ergo, I'll be waiting patiently for the eventual reveal and/or leaks and muster up a reaction then.
