Rene that's a good point I think you've got something there, now that the games are more advance and dialogue and story are important having Knuckles merely as a strong, silent type who chuckles when successful at a dastardly deed they had to give him a personality that didn't make him come across as too evil. |

There would be one way, if Knuckles would start doing traps for the actually evil guys and laughing at them, or perhaps growing fond of harmless practical jokes, but I like the way he is now too ^^ Although the trap-thing could be a funny strategy minigame, where you're playing as Knuckles and planting traps to prevent Egg Pawns, Rouge and perhaps even Sonic and Tails from taking the Master Emerald. I'd seriously play that game if he chuckles in HD after every cleared stage

Oh, no, I wasn't implying anything; I'm very sorry if I offended you, as that was not my intention. I would never, ever say there's something wrong with another's opinion, nor would I call anyone a noob/troll/ect. I hope that my posts on this forum reflect that. Again, I apologise if I hurt your feelings in any way. What I was trying to say is that there tends to be very different mentalities among fans of how Knuckles should be portrayed. Some feel his SA1-2 portrayal is terrific, and he has turned into a bumbling fool in more recent games. Others feel that his butt monkey position in the Sonic X series was hilarious and the way the character should go. Still others (like yourself) feel that Knuckles has transformed into a tough guy with nothing more going for him. However, in my personal opinion, Knuckles hasn't changed, per se, he's just been expanded upon and the lime light has been placed on different parts of his character. Bliz always seems to be able to explain my ideas of the character better than I could ever hope to. Edited by Leafy, Apr 3 2011, 10:26 AM.

That would be moi. But honestly Leafy, you made some pretty good points. I agree with the fact that Knuckles hasn't necessarily changed. He's always been a bit of a goof ball in my eyes. Every character has their shtick and unfortunately for some of us Knuckles had to be stuck with portraying the big ol' lug head "tough guy". All in all though, I really don't see what makes him so tough. Yes he's very strong and buff but I honestly don't see him flaunting his strength around and acting like a cocky meathead like most of these tough guys do. Everyone's personality changes a bit over the years. I mean, we all have had some of our traits and such change over the years haven't we? |

Everything you say is the truth. He's not flaunting his muscles to the ladies or anything, and he seems to be about the same as he used to be, maybe some light changes here and there. But like you said, no one can stay exactly the same forever. |

I think he was portrayed very well in both Adventure games as well. I very much disliked his role in Heroes as just another friend though... |

I liked him when he was in sonic heroes and the games before that. After around sonic 06, he was not as the same, cool knuckles he was. He is still powerful and cool and all, he was just a lot better when he was on the gamecube.

After the Gamecube Era ended,I started losing faith on Knuckles real slowly because SEGA really stopped putting Knuckles into some Sonic games,take Sonic Unleashed,Sonic Rush Adventure,Sonic Colors(WII),and Sonic 4 for example.Knuckles is my favorite Sonic Charatcer of ALL time!Make Knuckles like he used to be like in SA2, Sonic Heroes,and other past Sonic games like when he used obstacles to make sure you don't succeed thats what make Sonic games so challenging back then.But I perfer old classic and rap beats Knuckles the Echidna! KNUCKLES FTW! |

I haven't had much experience with the Gamecube-Era Knux past some Youtube videos, but I always did think he was pretty cool. I liked him in the classic games, and I do agree that he needs to be put in some of the newer games. We can't have SEGA give up on the epic characters and keep adding on lame ones lol. |

Yeah I mean in Sonic Colors for the Wii they focused more on the wisp,Tails,the 2 robots from Sonic Unleashed,Eggman,and most of all the music in the game instead Knuckles!The only game I saw that only had Knuckles's new voice actor was only on Sonic Free Riders.They should give older Sonic Characters a bigger push in the franchise. |
