Lesson One:



Name: Kenji Bushido

Species: Cat

Personality: As young and naive as he was, Kenji was quite a different boy compared to what he is now. For a long time in his childhood (before his first runaway), he believed in complete and utter loyalty to his superiors. Though he had a mind of his own, he did work without complain, and when asked to do something he would do it better then it sounded, well at least his effort would. He was openly kind and respectful of others, unafraid of anything. Each new threat and each new task to him was just another one of Takeru's assessments for him. Unfortunately, his skin is thin, meaning he cant really deal with a hateful comment without finding it hard to not blow up over it and lose his emotions, becoming violent and irrational.

Weapons: His training bamboo stick. Often uses it in alternative situations to fend off bullies and playing games with Miwako.

Fur Color: Black
Skin Color: Tan
Hair Color: Lighter black
Hair Style: Short, low ponytail in back, all hair swept back
Eye Color: Light Amber
Ears: Acute and defined, sharp at end, white on inside

Other Bodily Features: Smaller then most boys his age, has a scrawny appearance with 3" indent at lower torso area, ribs visible through his fur

History:

History so far (As of his age)

Kenji was born into the family of Bushido, a bloodline sworn to protect their village for as long as they existed. Obviously things weren't so strict or demanding as he grew up. He began training at the early age of Six, practicing forms of Kumdo sword fighting and Karate for empty hand. He was taught through private lessons with his older brother, Takeru. Takeru was like a father to him, although neither had any idea where their real father went. At the start of his training, Takeru was twenty-four and the current local master of the two martial arts.

When Kenji began his first week of training, he met a girl his age. He was told this girl named Miwako was his sister and that she would be training with him. He went along with it and greeted her. The girl definitely wasn't the shy type, and the two got along well. over the course of six or seven years of straight training, the two became the best of friends, and spent most of their daily activities together. They helped around the market area together, went to school and were in most of the same classes together, ate together, did chores together (granted they did live in the same household), played together; the two were inseparable.

Unfortunately, everywhere Miwako went with Kenji, trouble from the older boys in a different training class came aswell. The series of skirmishes between the two and the older boys started when Kenji, now age eleven, had accidentally bumped into one of the boys when he was in a rush to get home, hoping to not be late for one of Takeru's lessons which would always start five minutes after classes where dismissed.

First it came in forms of curt, verbal harassment such as name calling and hurtful nicknames, and the more Kenji ignored them, the more they pressed on, jabbing him with pens and pencils after class, bumping into him during lunch and cutting in line. Kenji couldn't hold in his frustration for long, and he blew it when one of the kids pelted a rock at him during recess. The small projectile hit him hard on the forehead, knocking him over.

Then, he lost it. He took his bamboo stick from the wall (as he was told to leave it at his side but to put it away during recess) and challenged the group of boys. One kid stepped out from the group, known as Kurosake Takamori. He had a reputation as the popular kid in the school as well as being a so-called badass and treating others disrespectfully.

He spoke violently to Kenji, saying, "Listen to your superiors, you disgraceful representative of Bushido. You need to put down that stick cause it's not gonna get you anywhere but braking it. Hell, I dont even think you deserve to go to this school, let alone exist! Put it down before you embarrass yourself by making a seine, and listen to someone who actually has better knowledge then that swollen bruise known as your head!"

This was where Kenji lost his emotions completely. Never for the rest of his life had he been so enraged by an individual that he had lost his sense and went all out on a group. He launched himself at Kurosake, smacking him on the shoulder and knocking him over. One of Kurosake's friends charged in, and Kenji reacted by knocking him over with a strong right Crescent kick, using the outside of his foot. A boy from behind him grabbed him and slammed Kenji backwards down on the ground. As he reared back his fist to punch, Kenji pulled his leg out from underneath him, falling face-first onto the ground. Another attempted to jump on Kenji while he was on the ground, but he was met with Kenji's bamboo stick in his stomach.

While this happened the teacher walked outside to see what was going on with all the yelling and screaming to find a eleven-year old fending off seven or so fourteen-year olds with a stick. She ran to go get the school principal immediately while Kenji was held down and beaten with rocks, fists and feet. Miwako was in shock, she stood off to the side with her hands over her mouth as she watched her best friend get helplessly beaten. About a minute after the teacher left, Miwako rushed over to pull off one of the kids beating Kenji. Tears ran down her face as she tried to yanked the older boy off, but he turned and struck her down with a back handed smack.

The principal had rushed out of the building to find the group still beating up Kenji, with almost the entire school students crowded around a ways off from the scuffle. The first thing he saw was Miwako getting smacked to the ground, and he immediately drew his sword (In their culture, drawing one's personal sword was a sign of authority, like using a mallet to silence everyone in a court) and spoke over the sounds of curses and yelling.

"I do not think senselessly beating one is accepted in my school, boys!" At the sound of his voice, the group stopped and turned to face the principal, shock and embarrassment in their faces. All but one removed themselves from Kenji, and that was Kurosake. He was so indulged in beating up Kenji he didn't hear the principal's voice. The principal walked over to Kurosake who was knelt down, punching Kenji in the gut as the principal tapped him on the shoulder. "It's forbidden to beat a helpless individual, am I wrong?"

Kenji couldn't see what was going on, he was far too badly beaten to see clearly. Shortly afterwards he blacked out. He woke up in the hospital later that day. He had several fractured ribs, heavily bruised skull, and the bones in both palms were broken. It would take a month or so to fully recover from the wounds, having his birthday in the hospital. The experience left him with a moral, and he realized that if he hadn't lost it he would have been better off. But her refused to think of it like that; he had done the right thing and stood up for himself. This was the person he was, and nothing, not even a beating like that would change that about him.
