SB Redline - Sorry if this should be moved elsewhere.
And this is not a community project, for once xD

Hey guys, this is just a thought...

DeviantArt has a few groups dedicated to "redlining" other members' artwork upon request. Pretty much, a member will ask another to fix what's off in their picture by drawing lines (usually red, of course) over the original to show how it can be improved. It seems very helpful in teaching anatomy, pose, perspective and things of that sort, and I figured starting a group to do just that here would benefit the members as a whole- both giving artists practice in finding mistakes and showing artists how to correct their own.

What I'd like to know is if there's any real demand for it, and if anyone would be interested in actually being a redliner. I've just been noticing a few members wanting to improve their art and thought this would be a nice thing to implement if the want is there. But it's not really a one person job, and I'm aweful busy myself.

My only requests are that, if this is implemented, people not ask for specific redliners unless that person says they're okay for that sort of thing.
And that redliners know something about that they're doing...

So, Yes. Yae? Nay? Comments, critiques? This really was spur-of-the-moment, so I'd like feedback.

Also no redline requests are to be made here. This is a discussion you silly noodles <3.

Sorry for my ridiculously long posts all the time! 8P

TIME TO REALLY EXPLODE!
As I mentioned to you on AIM, Avii, I think it should be established/noted/assumed/etc that every member in the Redline Committee knows their stuff and is fit to edit. Yanno, in case someone may feel "shortchanged" because they didn't get their stuff edited by a certain artist and someone else instead.

It's probably a minor issue that may not even come up, but I'll throw it out there. =P

That said, I'm all for this idea regardless. It seems like a great way for members who are good with art to give to the SB community. And it benefits all who are involved, as you mentioned.

I like the sound of this, Avii. Could be a lot more accessible than the current tutorial area, and on reflection this is an area the GFX should have taken care of long ago. And therein lies the only problem I see; the GFX got disbanded because they had nothing to do. Who's to say there's enough demand for this? But then again, this is why you have created the topic eh? :P

TL:DR - +1 from uncle MoD.

. . .

I agree with D-Metal as far as any issues come up people might not like another person's style or "artistic talent" and feel gipped a little if people are correcting their work that they don't feel is qualified to correct it.

I do think though this is a fantastic idea and would really help a lot of the budding artists in the community so you have my support in this venture (not artist support) but just general support.

it is way too cold for this
Dude, I am all for this. As the only really helpful person who comments on my art thread keeps telling me, I suck at anatomy. :V

...there are groups dedicated to this stuff? Huh. I need to start actually looking around dA sometime. I've never even heard of this before.
