I still can't use this. Posts: 6,546 Group: Former Monarchs Member #6,722 Joined: March 16, 2008	I just got wind of this topic from Cy, and I just shook my head. I would've never let this get out of hand, much less go on for so long. 128 replies? Really? In case any of you have gotten rusty on what we expect of members, here's the big one-- If you suspect that a new member is a troll, report any posts in question, then leave the topic to staff. Don't feed the troll. Seriously, do you really think openly discussing whether or not someone is a troll and faffing around in the topic is in any way beneficial to the issue? You will either a) Fan the flames, thus inciting the drama you've ironically indicated you're against by pointing your fingers in the first place, or b) Scare away truly innocent members with your insensitive derailment and exhausting need to incite lulz every single chance you get. Remember, =SB= is not some shining beacon of dignified internet conversation as a result of our lax standards; We allow you to get away with things you'd be shunned or banned for at more mature Sonic sites. Ergo, there are many members here who might be-- shocker!-- truly ignorant towards the concept of netiquette and thus post in what could easily be perceived as a troll-ish manner. That's no reason to immediately derail their topics and act like loons, especially if you have absolutely no hard evidence that they are indeed trolls. Again, that's what the staff and report button are for. We will handle it, not you. Second, it was already explained the last time an Epic Lulz started by members burned embarrassingly to the ground how it's actually supposed to happen, but again, in case you missed the memo or simply forgot, here it is again-- Epic Lulz happens when it's clear a topic has become finished. Finished in this context means either that the original poster in question is inciting drama, but has been talked to reasonably by members and staff without any betterment of behavior and understanding, or a genuine problem that could have potentially incited drama is resolved peacefully. Also, it would be best if I approved of it. Then, and only then, is Epic Lulz able to be declared, otherwise you're probably just being a jackass. Seriously, this is the second time in a row you've guys have gotten too far ahead of yourselves, and it's starting to make me regret having championed this thing in the first place. Be respectful, or warns will be awarded to every single member involved the next time you all pull something like this. Also-- Who in the world invites people to our forum who blatantly say that they're going to troll it? >< I'm just disappointed all around, =SB=. Good job.

Me being ignorant and stuff, I decided to browse the forum when he was in the same room as me. He caught me and said he would troll it. From what I believe he hasn't, and probably won't. Anyways most of this was my fault since I was the one who called troll instead of reporting, so I apologize.

From your original response in the topic, I thought you had actually invited him. Silly me; Sorreh about that. xP Anyhoo, your apology is accepted, and just for apologizing, here's your complimentary cookie. Just for future reference, don't be so quick to label someone a troll if it's not overtly obvious, (again, this forum isn't SSMB we're talking about; Posting standards are pretty low anyways), and even then, just report it and leave it alone. The less replies and mess to topics in which there is no effort made to better the situation, the better for everyone in the end.

But since I have never actually been part of an Epic Lulz before and I did now know how it was supposed to start or how it worked, I thought that any bit of drama would have done it. I posted merely thinking it seems like it may be a troll but it could just be a really young kid trying to get to grips with the place I cannot believe for a second it got to three pages! Wowser! Normally I mention topics and stuff to a mod but I honestly thought a mod was notified of the topic hence why everyone was making some jokes in it before it got locked. I apologise for thinking that and will be more vigilant in future.

However, I doubt they'll feel very welcome now. :/ I like Epic Lulz when they come around but seriously, people seem a bit too desparate for it.

I myself thought the more recent Shadow-kun was a trollolol, which brought me to the welcome topic. There was no current proof that happy was a troll and it may have merely been coincidence that they joined when someone who was trolling did. A bit more watching later turned up that Shadow-kun was banned and that happy's topic was now trying to be turned into lulz. Nobody knows, and if happy is in fact not a troll, they prob aren't feeling welcome...
