Tourney Rules In order to obtain victory, each player must accrue ten strikes. It doesn't matter if the opponent is armored or not; so long as the attack even so much as scratches the torso, head and thighs, the hit will be counted.
A strike on the torso and thighs nets one point, but a strike on the head nets two points.
Attacks using ranged (projectile or magic) will only count for 7 strikes total. This means that even if a player uses ranged weapons up until the fourth successful hit, and only hits the head during these strikes, the fourth hit will only net one point. The remaining three strikes must be acquired by melee.
A penalties system is in place to encourage fair play. If two judges agree that a penalty should be awarded, then the player in question will have one strike removed from his count. A second penalty will remove two strikes, and a third penalty will result in the player earning a defeat, concluding the match. Fair play will be determined according to SB RP rules to guard against god-moding.
Posts should be balanced between attack and defense, but adjust according to the situation, and use moderation. For example, four or more attacks that aren't a skill related combo is definitely pushing it for one post.
In regard to grappling, what counts as a strike will be modified. When a grappling situation has been initiated, the player with the advantage over his opponent on his turn will gain a strike in his favor.
Matches that go idle for three days without a player's turn will be ended. The player who timed out will receive a defeat, and the other player, a victory. Players also have an opportunity to 'tap out' early, accepting a defeat to avoid serious injury.
Players will always start each match with health and ammo / mana levels replenished. The arenas, however, might not be restored to their original conditions.
Matches that take too long will be automatically concluded by the judges, and will be graded according to Fair Play, Composition, Adaptation to the Environment, and Entertainment Value. Two judges will grade on each match. The outcome of each judge's decision will result in an honorary strike being awarded to the player they favor.
A tie will result in the following situations:
Both players have the same amount of strikes.
The player with the least amount of strikes is favored by the judges over the leading player.
Sudden Death goes into effect during a tie-breaker. No special skills can be used, and the first player to score a hit will win the match.
Latency Clause: If a player has acquired two defeats by timeout, that player will be disqualified for the rest of the tournament.
Round 2- Code:
-
# Combatant VERSUS Opponent Location 1 21 vs 1 Arena 2
2 < > vs 20 Bonus Arena 11
3 2 vs 19 Arena 1
4 3 vs 18 Arena 3

6 5 vs 16 Arena 5
7 6 vs 15 Arena 6
8 7 vs 14 Arena 4
9 8 vs 13 Arena 8
10 9 vs 12 Arena 10
11 10 vs 11 Arena 7
Round 1 - Complete - Code:
-
# Combatant VERSUS Opponent Location
1 1 vs < > Bonus Arena 11
2 2 vs 21 Arena 2
3 3 vs 20 Arena 1
4 4 vs 19 Arena 5
5 5 vs 18 Arena 8
6 6 vs 17 Arena 10
7 7 vs 16 Arena 7
8 8 vs 15 Arena 6
9 9 vs 14 Arena 3
10 10 vs 13 Arena 9
11 11 vs 12 Arena 4
Combatant Roster ListOption One Option Two
Arena Appearance The measurement is in meters. On two sides of the arena, there are wooden fenceposts that mark off a walking area on the sides for contestants to enter and leave. Those circles in the arena are wooden logs driven into the ground, and the numbers mark the diameter of the logs. The thinner logs stand about 2 meters high, and the other logs stand at 4 meters high. There are notch marks driven into the sides, large enough for anyone to climb up to the top. the total measurement of the arena boundaries is 23.5 by 23.5. The arena is open to the elements, but the height of the arena caps at 15. Anything above the 15 meter cap is considered out of bounds. You could break through the fence post, but it's strongly encouraged to get back within the fencepost boundary. Anything outside the ultimate 25 x 25 meter boundary is out of bounds.
Stadium and Arenas, first floor Sadly, I tried to color code this, but it wouldn't output correctly. The first floor of the stadium sports a wall which prevents the audience from seeing the combatants until they enter the arena floor. The area marked as off limits is actually an storage area for arena repair and such. The heralds responsible for announcing the combatants and noting when the combatants land a strike will be standing in the middle of the arena clusters, stationed in a wooden tower (not yet modeled). The circle thing in the middle of the stadium marks off where the judge's box is. It's actually built from a castle turret which was no longer being used by the Kingdom of Mercia. The walls marking off the ultimate boundary is thick. I won't expect you'll be able to destroy them, seeing as they're also helping hold up the stands where the spectators are sitting, from the second floor up. the outer perimeter of the stadium is marked off with walls as well; didn't have the patience to add them. I may eventually render a 3D model of the stadium.

So... is this just a listing of the combatants? Or the bracket itself? O:

Agnosticism, explained - Quote:
-
I neither advocate nor demote the successes and demonizations of man's science or divine visions. I'm just saying following books translated by mankind, capable of deviant sin isn't a source of reputable knowledge I'd plan one's own life around or ahead to.
I'm without a faith in either of which not because I choose to be jaded or blind to them, but because I would rather figure things out through my own eyes, not ones of others' zeal.
It would seem askew of me to correct your last statement just the same. But it is arrogant to assume my faith lies in something as paltry as technical aspiration. ~Moddex

If it's not the brackets, the hilarious heart attack I put Avii through just now in believing that she would be fighting Bowie first will be all for naught.

It doesn't seem like brackets to me, D'Metal. xD Because the order of the combatants is different than the order in which they were submitted, I assumed every pair going down this list would fight, i.e. 1 fights 2, and so on.

Anyone else see that tiny black square at the end there?

That tiny square is awesome. Anyhoo, this topic will be locked until further notice. Direct all popcorn-worthy speculation about the list to the regular OOC chat instead. :3
