Should Sega do it? I mean, Mario just came out with a "25 Years of Mario" Red Wii, Red DSi, and a video game about it. Should they do it with Sonic?

If they did, I would sell my white Wii on eBay. Then order the new Wii :)

Mario's new Red Wii came with Mario Galaxy 2, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, and Mario Kart Wii. The DS one came out with Mario Kart DS, New Super Mario Bros., and Mario 64 DS (I think).

Sonic's BLUE Wii should come with: Sonic and the Black Knight, Sonic Colors, and Sonic and the Secret Rings. The DSi one should be: Sonic Rush, Sonic Rush Adventure, and Sonic and Sega All Stars Racing.

And then they would make a Sonic game called "20 Years of Sonic the Hedgehog", including Sonic 1, Sonic 2, Sonic 3, and Sonic CD.

How is that NOT cool?!

=SB= Sonic Logic Theorist.
I think the problem is would be that, for one thing...

1. The Quality of the Games are differing to the Mario Games.

This is a no-brainer, but the Sonic games for the wii and ds have differing quality to Mario's games. For example, why would I want the two storybook games and Sonic Colors when I can get just Sonic Colors? Not to mention, I recall Sega saying something regarding removing specific Sonic games from the shelves based on how bad they were (possibly even the storybook games)

2. The Mario "Anniversary" was kinda 'meh'

So yea, I got Mario All-Stars for the Wii (which had SMB 1,2,3, and the lost levels). It isn't all that impressive as I thought it would be (as in new updated graphics, at the very least) which was very..."meh", they didn't even add Super Mario World to it. So why would I buy Sonics 1, 2, 3&K, and Sonic CD when all of them have been ported multiple times? If they have graphics compared to that Mushroom Hill video? I'm all for that, But I'm not paying for 4 old Sonic games that have been ported several times over...

3. Sonic Anniversary (The rumored game)

It's been rumored a Sonic game will bring back the best levels in Sonic History, update the graphics, and if I recall, give them Sonic Unleashed gameplay (Or atleast update that premise and tweak some things for the better, don't quote me on whether or not it is TRULY going to be Sonic Unleashed based gameplay). This sounds pretty awesome to me and feels more fitting of an anniversary game than porting the Sonic Trilogy for the 7th time...

Aside from that, I think a Blue Wii sounds awesome, but I doubt Nintendo would go through the work to make a Cobalt colored Wii, pack it together with some Sonic game's (especially those storybook games, sorry storybook sonic fans, but I know Sega can do better with Black Knight then what they did...) and send it out...

TL;DR: 3 reasons why I think Sega shouldn't do what Nintendo did...or something like that.

I object to your claims
Why not just refurnish some Dreamcasts, paint 'em blue, and include a brand-spanking new copy of Sonic Adventure with each system? :P

Joking aside, I don't see why SEGA should go Nintendo's route with Sonic's 20th Anniversary. There are plenty of other things that could act as a 20th Anniversary Product.

. . .

Ha Blaire - the really sad thing is I know for a fact in the shop I work in there are tons of retro-gamers who would actually go for that and shell out good money for a re-designed DreamCast with a copy of Sonic Adventure included.

I don't know if SEGA should go down the route Nintendo is going down but I think a 20 Years of Sonic product; special toys/figures, a special game something like that would be quite nice I think to celebrate Sonic being 20 years old.
