Of course this is only by one publication and its readers, but I thought it was cool. Personally I'd put Freddie Murcury ahead of Axl, but Axl was a better frontman and holds his own on vocals.

Oh and Guns N' Roses was voted artist of the year at another website. They've been touring so much and if they come to California I will definitely buy tickets for a concert! It would be my first concert as well.

I would humbly beg to differ with that poll and say the Freddie Mercury is the best lead singer of all time. That's just me but I mean I am happy for Axl Rose just not... impressed enough by him.

You know, this doesn't surprise me one bit. Though, I'd rather vote for Mr. Mercury as well.

Not saying anything bad against Axl or anything, I love Guns N' Roses as much as the next guy, but Mercury has a much better voice than Axl.

And he also knew how to work a crowd better I think. He had a real "crowd pleasing" air about him Mr. Mercury did.

I won't disagree, however Axl's voice has only gotten better. The new music on Chinese Democracy has his best vocals yet on studio material, hitting high notes he has never done before. Plus he sings differently on a lot of them. Shackler's Revenge has him with a very deep tone, Catcher in the Rye has a very soft tone, and This I Love has him hitting some high notes.

I really can't say anything about Chinese Democrocy yet. Haven't heard anything from it. But from your discriptions, I assume he's made a ton of progress in his skill.

Well musically it's objective. I personally like it, but I know some who legitimately don't like it. A lot of people just said it sucked because it wasn't the original band members, but I could care less. As for vocally, I think it is his best work yet.

Trying to go with a theme this time
If i had my vote in this, (Which goes far off trend from the polls, :P ) I would vote Corry Taylor or Billie Joe Armstrong. BJ's got some sorta nick to his voice that makes it sound good, and Corry's attribute is being able to sing for ages without taking a breath. Pretty awesome.

emmmm, I would have to add another vote for Freddie. There is just something about that mustache... It's mesmerizing.

But congrats to Axl Rose, he's an Indiana native too! Not sure how I feel about him just replacing all the original members though... I haven't listened to the new stuff, But I feel like it wouldn't really sound like GnR. More like an Axel Rose solo album. Anyone have any insight to how the new lineup effects the sound?

^ It's like the power of Weegee but in a singer, something about moustaches just hypnotises people. I also think that Freddie had much more of an enthusiasm and passion for his music than Axl does. I mean no offence to Axl of course but when I hear Freddie singing with Montserrat Caballe I realise just how powerful and truly talented Freddie was both as a rock God and a classical singer. He was truly gifted.

I don't think it sounds much different from the Use Your Illusion albums in the sense that it's got all different types of music unlike AFD which was all the same style. Some of the songs have a distinct sound of the new members for instance Shackler's Revenge sounds very Buckethead.
