Posts: 5,102 Group: C Rank Legend Member #9,446 Joined: October 22, 2008	OK, so you know how we used to get those half naked women evony ads? eventually they died down, but recently I've been noticing some victoria secret ads. featuring women in minimal clothing. any ideas why?

I imagine whatever advertising client is on here is just using demographics, thread and post content and whatnot to try and deliver an advertisement that will perform the best. The Evony ads made sense-- While the images the company used are friggin' dumb and they should be ashamed of themselves, the actual service is an online game, and this is a gaming forum. No idea about Victoria Secret. xP

For instance, a topic about music could yield ads for an ipod or the like. Location seems to a factor as well - I've had many instances where I had ads for San Antonio, due to my fairly close proximety to the city. And not just on =SB= either. Not sure about the Victoria Secret ads. I haven't got them.

Could it be that the topic you saw them in had the words "Victoria" and "Secret" in it, not necessarily together?

For instance, If you remember kanata, her sig said something like "Justin Beiber fan" or whatever. Now this forum has little if anything to do with the singer, yet sometimes when she posted in a topic, an ad for some justin beiber fanclub appeared at the bottom, triggered by the words in her sig. So did anyone in the topic type out the words "victoria" or "secret"

Although to be honest with you could it not be possible one of the members was called Victoria or "Secret" at some point? Because it obviously just wasn't in this topic alone they he saw the ad for something questionable.
